I just started playing a couple days ago, and I'm hooked. Just a couple minutes ago I hit some lava while building a mining chute and I don't really have the will to go on.

Anyone else play? Anybody want to play? I haven't even used multiplayer yet

Try dumping water down the shaft. 'twill create obsidian, which you can then mine for sweet sweet hellstone crafting later.

I have clocked a good 48 hours or so on Terraria, will need another 20 or so since my characters got wiped lol.

TotalBiscuit has a nice review on youtube that brought me in.

I like it.

I enjoyed the hell outta this game, and watching totalbiscut and jesse play it.

No problem The Jungle is pretty merciless, just don't get caught too far from your entry point. Sometimes you need to make a quick (very quick) escape.

No problem The Jungle is pretty merciless, just don't get caught too far from your entry point. Sometimes you need to make a quick (very quick) escape.

I've set up a house with like 12 chests and a bed right near the entry. I'm loving the magic mirror just for that purpose

Also, 1.1 is supposed to be released soon. It's supposed to the 'minecraft 1.8' of terraria, apparently.

I got this in a Steam sale a while back and... I can't work out what I'm supposed to be doing. What do I do in this thing?

Chop wood, make wood hut, kill slimes, make workbench, light up house and put in back wall, dig mine and acquire resources, expand hut to get npcs, get max tier gear and fight bosses.

And get bored really fast.

I don't really like the game to be honest, I've never understood gear driven games.

Terraria is the most fun when you don't try to understand it

Playing with a friend also helps....Me, my brother, my step-brother, and my best friend, all played 4 player on that game for almost 3 days straight! and that was before all the big updates and such!

I really like the look of it. And now with Minecraft being not as fun,I would like to play it. But I'm not too sure it would be a good idea untill after the exams.

Played it. Beat it. Put it away. Went back to Minecraft.

Yeah. it's a BIG time waster. Part of the reason I picked up Terraria is because Minecraft has been sucking so much. Same old same old.

I regularly beat wall of flesh to get money. It's too easy. I'm scared to fight the twins or anything else though. Not without at least mithril, which hasn't even spawned in my world yet I have like three daemonic clockwork assault rifles. Someone cool should play with me

Just beat the Wall of Flesh last night on my mates server. OH MY GOD is Terraria tough now. Currently we are trying to create 2 Hellevators to try protect our town from corruption/hallow. I dont see it happening though.

Still fun though, I like a challenge

I never thought of building hellevators to stop the invasive zones. I'm at 7% Hallow and 9% Corruption at the moment, and I believe I've stopped the corruption from spreading, so now it's just a matter of bombing the corruption with Holy water

Good luck! I couldn't have beaten the WOF without flattening the underworld first. I used a minishark with silver bullets, doom scythe and a Molten Fury with Hellfire arrows (plus full molten armor and a bunch of buffs, mainly Ironskin and Regeneration). I beat him every couple days to get money and stuff now

Also, A word of advice. Don't sell any of your hard mode teir gear when you upgrade. I got a mithril drill and tossed my cobalt one, which was a huge mistake, since you can use the old ones to make a super duper drill later on

Id be right happy to join you in playing, considering I have heard that it is a million times more fun when working with some one.

I have enjoyed playing it so far.

Yea I did notice that you can use the various items to combine into a super set of sorts. I currently doubt that I can solo WoF. Iv beat EoC, and EoW but Skeletron proves to be a pain lol.

Hellevators won't stop the corruption or hallow.

I learned the hard way after mining under the entire staring corruption to caution it off from the world.

Thanks, I had no idea about the V shape thing, but now that you mention it, that makes total sense. I had hallowed underground directly after beating WOF.

Tackling the surface corruption isn't that hard, but I'm dreading having to 'purify' all the underground corruption.Luckily, I've got a whole week of vacation to do it

Picked Terrania up awhile ago, then put it back after being killed by slimes. Recently gotten back into though.

I've got a grapple now, What should I be working on? got loads of different bits and bobs, including some hellstone and stuff, but just feels like the game is redundant as soon as you need to grind.

Grrr.

It seems this game has gotten more interesting as of late.

I am looking for some help with Eye of Cthulhu. Can't seem to beat him at all which is annoying.

Just took out an eye of cthulhu, AND the world eater. Took quick stock of the world. 3% is corrupt....ouch.

I'm on the WoF. cant kill it because for some demented reason theres no Cobalt shield that spawned in my world (I used map viewer to check). I keep getting hit into him and killed. Though some time back I suggested a quick Dakka server, with the world getting reset every few weeks or so, depending on how quick it gets run through

Can't seem to beat skeletron, I have gold armour, a phaseblade, ivy whip, the axeammer, musket etc. Whats the best type of armour to use for him?

Minishark+Meteor shot= Win. Either Necro or Molten Armor is best
