Hello there
Zenit Miniatures (makers of the Nemesis wargame) have done a preview of their next project. This is a wargame set in the medieval Japan, so it's a historical one. At least, as far as i know...
I post this here because i think the minis could be interesting for some people.
Link of Zenit Miniatures: http://www.zenitminiatures.es/en/
They have showed some miniatures on a gaming store of Granada, in Spain:
The models are made of resin and have 30 mm. in size.
There were showed many more miniatures, and there are more pictures, so if someone would like, you can see some of them in this link.
No details about rules or anything else. However this is only a preview. In the website of Zenit, they say that the official launch for Kensei will be in another Spanish event, by the end of April.
------
Update:
KENSEI is now up to pre-order.
They have also a new website with info about the game, some fluff and soon downloadable rules. Is this link: http://kensei.zenitminiatures.es/index.php?lang=en
The pre-orders can be found in the new Zenit Miniatures online store, on this link: http://shop.zenitminiatures.es/
I hope this could be interesting

Honestly, i don't know. I think the bases are 25 mm. ones, judging by the size of the models (they say 30 mm. so...)

Nice to see some model not in heroic scale. Those things look really nice. I bet those are the same scale as the LOTR minis. 25mm I think. Anyways, nice paintjobs on nice minis makes me wanna spend.

So, it seems that i was wrong.
This is a fantasy game after all.
New info from this blog (in spanish)
I did it my best trying to translate it from spanish to english, but languages knowledge is not one of my great skills... So here it is, if somebody would like and know both languages, could check the upper link and correct the things that are wrong or could be misunderstood :
Kensei is a wargame of battles, inspired in the feudal Japan, but set in a fantasy world that will be revealed in a future. In the first launch of the game there won’t be magic or creatures, due to time requirements and to try to draw up the battles system for the game. For those that like historical battles, they can use these miniatures, because they are designed to fit the feudal Japan era.
In this game there will be three different factions: Kuge, Buke and Sohei. Each one will have their own units and common units that will be available for all the three factions.
About the rule set, the first thing to be released will be a beta that we expect to develop with the aid of the players. We hope it will grow with your help and contributions. It will be for download as a pdf file in a short time on the Zenit website.
The starter set for Kensei is due to be released on the 15th to 20th of May, and the preorder will be on the Zenit Miniatures website one month before.
This starter set will come with 21 miniatures: 5 ashigaru spearmen, 5 samurai with katana, 5 ashigaru with bows, 5 samurai with bows and 1 kensei. Only in the online orders made by the web will be included a free extra hero for the desired faction.
I hope this could be interesting

As I said over on Warseer, still very interesting. The starter set is intriguing, and I like the online preorder. I wonder what the 3 factions will be like? One can only hope for a ninja faction. So the game's definitely going to be unit based, probably ranked (square bases). Maybe it'll be around the same conflict scale size as Wargods of Aegpytus?

Good thing Spanish miniature companies post their information in Spanish and ... Spanish. Like they are not interested in international customers. With a decent distribution, the Spanish sculptors could dominate the tabletop scene, but most don't care. Still hoping the best for these guys.

Well, I think you are being a bit unfair here.
Is my 'fault' to bring this info here, but the company only have spread this new on the spanish sites. It occurs the same with english or american small companies, that never will post their info in any other language than english... If somebody from other country (like myself in some cases) is interested in their models or games, he has to make all the things for himself, contact with the company in english, buy their models and pay a lot for the shipping cost and etc.
It's the same with small companies from other countries, if somebody from other country likes their models or games, i think they should do the things for themselves, and not demand too much... I think it's enough that, in most of the cases, those foreigner customers can contact the small companies in english, and They will be answered. I wonder what would happen, if me or another spanish customer, would contact any english or american small company in spanish... Probably they didn't even read those mails... So...
Besides that, Zenit is really a very small company, and with their other game, Nemesis, they didn't had the success they would have expected, despite they have an english edition (i think)...
So i think is fair to have a certain patience with them, and try to support them if you really like their work, if many people do that, i have not any doubt that with time they will launch their products in english and pay more attention to their international customers.
Only my opinion, i hope my english has been understandable enough

Even small Polish companies try to get someone with basic English knowledge to make their website or ebay shop. That's how they finally grow and stop being small.
Just saying that Spanish companies could make lots of money if they just find someone with basic English knowledge to do their website. If they only want to sell to the Spanish speaking market, okay.

It would cost them very little to have website translations available for people overseas. You dont lose money by selling things overseas. In fact the extra revenue could help them generate their product. Seems win-win to me.

Hello
I´m from Kensei. I hope this will close the discussion jeje.
Kensei miniatures are 30 mm, the bases are 25mm.
We will take out the game in May and you can preorder the basic case in April in http://www.zenitminiatures.es/es/. It will have 5 yari ashigaru, 5 katana samurai, 5 bow ashigaru and 1 kensei, if you order it in the web you will have one faction heroe free. The Nanigata monks, the No-dachi samurais and the teppo ashigaru will come out in June.
The game will be a fantasy battle game inspired in the medieval Japan. There will be three factions: Kuge, Sohei and Buke. The ninjas will be in the Kuge faction. The monks in the sohei. The game will be in english at the same time that it comes out, it will be on free discarge at zenit web site. This game will be a beta, becouse we have a lot of things to prove, there will be a limitated number of units and the creatures and magic will not be on it. The final game will have more units. We want to know the players opinion to change things that doesnt work.
We hope you will like it.
Excuse me for my english jeje and see you soon.

The latest link provided before your comments, leads to a particular Spanish gaming blog, not to the company website. In the OP you can find the company website link. Also, one month before May is April, so I guess it's natural not having much more info about the preorder being in March

Love the proportions and positions of the models. Great to see a strong historical flavour to the modeling, rather than heroic. They still have a lot of personality.

Not much point if they don't have a reliable distribution in place. Opening up to new markets without being prepared just means negative press when they can't make potential customers happy. You absolutely can harm a business by expanding beyond your means, because it sets up unrealistic expectations.
Give 'em a chance to find their feet. It's a good-looking product, it should be around for a while.

Thats some good Bueno, right there.
I would like to get some of these factions, when will they be available? any way to get some comparison shots with other Oriental Fantasy/ midevil ( he he, Je Je) sculpts?
I can think of quite a few other games that the figures would work great with alongside.
Amazing first faction, BTW. I for one am vary interested.

Seconded. Used to play Clan War and still have my armies, so I wonder if the Zenit figures will be a reasonable match. (Have some of the old Ral Partha 25mm historical samurai and they are dwarfed by the CW minis.)
At the moment, the sohei faction interests me. Have plenty of samurai already, so playing sohei and yamabushi will be a nice change.

a bit of interest in this in my area, myself included, but only if the units are actually about 5 or 10 men strong at most. More than that we'll work on our War of the Rings armies.
a bit of a concern: the message translated into English (I don't have a quote right at the moment) talked about still working and hashing out the rules. they are awfully close to release to be in such dire straights. Is this going to be another system were your minis club or game group has to tweak the rules to make it playable properly? hopefully not.
Figs look good in our eyes. I enjoy that they are not super detailed ... base coat and a dip in Quick Shade strong tone should do the trick nicely.

Some little news about this wargame and minis.
First about minis, in the Hispania Wargames event last week, the Zenit people showed some new models for Kensei (or i think they are...). Mainly the Kensei itself.
From this link: http://tabladelavarwargames.blogspot.com.es/2012/05/zenit-miniatures-previews-nuevas.html
And about the release date, it seems that the miniatures finally will be made of metal. Info from the same link (translated to english, or attempt of... ):
I'm writing to you to inform you that the release date of the game and miniatures has been delayed. We are going to change the production from resin to metal, so we will take time to get ready the release of this game. But we are doing this to be able to offer more affordable prices and so we can manage the expectations we have created. Besides that, the beta version of the game rules will be soon ready to be released.
I hope this could be interesting
