For how much people complain about GW tailoring their message to teenagers, the base is a lot older than you'd expect. Nowadays with external competition (younger people would rather play video games than paint an army and bring it to the table), as well as the obvious monetary thing (it's tough fielding an army on your parent's dime), it shouldn't be too surprising that your average wargammer skews older.

I imagine that money would be an issue, I know my parents wouldn't have paid for it! The video game thing makes sense, much easier to just hop on Xbox.

It's an interesting point that a lot of people tend to gloss over I think, that the real competition for GW's money isn't other games companies, but xbox games and other hobbies.

"Did you ever notice how in the Bible, when ever God needed to punish someone, or make an example, or whenever God needed a killing, he sent an angel? Did you ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? A whole existence spent praising your God, but always with one wing dipped in blood. Would you ever really want to see an angel?"

I actually prefer my Warhammer to my Xbox. Namely because Warhammer is more fun, more interactive and a good social outlet. Plus I can't afford Xbox live.

When I go to tournaments in my city most of the people that I play with are generally 20+ with a significant amount being in their 30s or 40s.

The people I play with on a regular basis are in their 30s and 40s.

Why would the data be skewed? Only thing I can think of is that it's people that use the forum rather than people that play 40K. I wouldn't think they would be to different though.

I'm on my phone so I will not get too into it but look up self selection bias and sampling bias.

Chimeras > rhinos (course then again piling a regular squad out of a chimera usually creates a scene similar to Omaha beach during D-Day)

You know you feel old when some of the lead models you have in your collection are older than people posting in this thread

I see your point but I think I have a right to call pre-pubescant teens younglings.

Started reading about the history of it when I was young and started the game at around.....hmm.... (Work brain)
10 I think not sure. I lost alot of the models during the big move across the country. So I currently have 50% of my models broken from back then.
Also I do not think its a very good idea to give out your age on the internet, never know when it will bite you back.

TOO MUCH CHAOS!!!
