We have some new items to announce. First comes a new line of markers designed to be an inexpensive solution to destroyed vehicles. This idea actually came from one of our customers and we thank him for the suggestion.

We currently have all of the markers available that you see on the link below but we can custom cut any style you may require. This includes custom vehicles that you have created yourselves. Simply follow the same steps of tracing the model and we will send you these markers for the low price of $6.99 per 3 pack.

http://us.battlefoam.com/categories/Destroyed-Vehicle-Markers/

We are also excited to be taking pre-orders for our BLACK P.A.C.K. 1520 XL bags. These are the same high quality bags as our other P.A.C.K. versions but in the cool color of black. These are a limited run of only 1000 so please pre-order yours today. They will sell out fast.

Also please don't forget that we are having our annual Black Friday Sale next weekend. In past years the sale only lasted for 24 hours on Friday. This year the sale starts on Friday at 12:01 AM Mountain Standard Time and ends Sunday night at 11:59 PM. This will give people an opportunity to shop with their families and still take part in a great discount.

Happy holidays guys

Don't destroyed vehicles simply disappear from the field now? They don't leave any wreckage anymore, so why would people need vehicle markers?

Also, that bag is awesome.

If a vehicle is destroyed by stripping hull points, it's left on the table.

If we're doing custom trays and want to purchase minis as well, should we put in our main order online and then call in with the order number to have things added?

No wargames these days, more DM/Painting.

I paint things occasionally. Some things you may even like!

Hi gunslingerpro - The fastest way to do the ordering is by going online and selecting everything you need from Battle Foam.

Pay for that and your discount will be applied at checkout. You will than have an order number.

Simply call us with that number and the names and sku number of the minis you need and we will add those to the order.

You card will not be charged for the models until Monday or Tuesday depending on stock. We have a full store with hundreds of minis but in the case that something is out of stock we do not want to charge people for something they may have to wait on based on availability with our distro chain.

Everyong will get the full discount on the models regardless of the date the card is charged so please do not worry if you don't see it on your statement for a couple days.

One other thing to point out. We will make sure to ship everything together to save you on freight. If we notice that your minis are out of stock we can still place your order and we will ship those models at a later date at no charge.

We hope everyone takes part in this great sale.

yeah,
I'm a big battle foam fan (check my signature for my reviews) But these are priced way too high!
£6 for three! Really?
I think Someone at battle foam need to pick one up and ask themselves is this worth £2...
There's Nothing here that can't be done at home with a spare bit of foam/card and 5 mins of time.

50p each I recon... with Army packs for £5 (three dreads, four rhinos 2 landraiders 2 landspeeders 2 drop pods) and I might think about the convenience and buy some.
But at the current price I'll pass.

 matphat wrote:

No - When a vehicle explodes they leave area terrain wreckage or a crater .
BRB wrote:"the vehicle is removed and replaced with scattered wreckage (area terrain) or a crater roughly the same size of the vehicle (if you have one) "

It benefits troops in the area (and transports ex passengers!) as they can use the area terrain for cover saves.
I also slows down movement, slowing an advance.

I've heard that people can get peaved at tournaments if you try to claim a crater size bigger than the outline of the vehicle.
Or not placing craters claiming you don't have one, so that it doesn't get in your way.

I've seen lots of this kinda thing being sold made out of thin MDF.
But the main cool factor of MDF outlines is that you can model onto it to create 3D wrecks.
Like my dead Kans
Spoiler:

This is the first time I've seen it done with Foam.
Foam will have the benefit of bending up onto/overlapping nearby terrain bases and hill slopes.
Which might suit tournament player more since it can be placed closer to the spot where the vehicle was destroyed.

Panic...

Thanks for the details. I will be placing an order for possibly a new bag and some trays.

Regarding the "way too high" price on the vehicle markers....like just about everything we buy, from dinner to terrain, of course we could make it for ourselves ....or we could pay someone else to do it and spend the time painting our minis and playing games.

happy turkey day everyone!

Happy eating turkey day to you too..

And about making it yourselves buying it to save time your right, but there is a difference in making vehicle shadows markers to making something difficult?

I'm highlighting my belief that people have differing price points they will find tolerable before the urge to buy something kicks in.
For vehicle shaped shadows I'm expecting it is very low for most people...
Most people are likely to see battle foams vehicle markers and think 'great Idea, but I can make that myself' and grab a pair of scissors and cut simple geometric shapes out of foam/card for 5 mins...

these are the kinda things I expect to cost very little.. or given away free with orders!

To me it looks like they just hung onto the chunks of foam cut out from trays, then cut them down.

That's what it looks like to me.

They seem like they are the exact same size as the holes cut into the foam. So it seems like they were able to simply take all the foam they used to throw away anyway (at least that is what I imagine they did, I could be wrong ) and now they just cut it into slices to sell as markers.

It's a good idea, and a nice way to make profit from what I would imagine used to be trash.

How much to charge for them is a separate discussion of course.

I think they used to cut them up and use them as padding in packages. At least the one package I've had from them came with random chunks of foam.

Hey Battlefoam (Hello Romeo if it's you),

I have a pack air which I sheckled out of Romeo at Adepticon, thinking about getting a pack 1520 Black XL as I know have a pretty large army to tote around. I was wondering if the current pre-order price on the custom load-out will be changed on black friday with the discount mentioned on the latest ep of 40k radio?

Just want to make sure before I place an order and find out I could have saved 25%

Also, just as a comment, I endorse Battlefoam based on my personal experience, great, solid product I have had no issues with whatsoever. Customer service experience with them when bombarding them with questions about pluck foam over the phone and figuring out what I needed was also great... put up with me for about 20mins while I flip-flopped on what to get.

Just a few quick points.

Battle Foam is a green company and we recycle all of our waste. We also get paid for that waste so making the markers came as an idea from a customer who wanted them.

It's just an option so if the price is not right for you, we understand. Others may find a need for them.

As for the sale starting on Friday morning it includes everything. That means pre orders and out of stock items.

Hope to see everyone get what they like.

I whole heartedly agree and Romeo does a great service to the hobby.
Their customer service is next to none, communication outstanding and the custom tray generator is a joy to use (I've used it twice now)..

I ❤ BF !

That said I also call things as I see them! and these are bad value.

The price is not right for me thanks for accepting that, I'll look else where when I find the need for vehicle shadows.

From those who ordered on the black friday sales in the past, are the orders likely to actually get to you by Christmas if you live in the US?

Warboss - as many customers have seen over the past 8 months orders take much less time to process and ship.

We instituted a second shift about 10 months ago and orders move really fast. We strive to have standard orders out in 24 to 48 hours.

For custom orders we require our design and cut team a total of 5 days tops to finish and ship custom work.

As long as we have the customers designs in hand the order can ship in 5 or less days.

There are times that orders take longer.

If we do not have your order or we are waiting on a customer to select their foam the order is kept in a holding folder in the order we received it with other orders in the same boat.

Once the foam is selected or the custome tray designs sent in it goes directly to production and falls in that 5 or less day window.

Lastly, we do get a lot of orders on Black Friday. Our goal is to have everyone's order to them by Christmas if everything is in stock and we have your designs.

Hope that helps.

Today is the cutoff for mailing packages via the post office parcel method to arrive before Christmas so I figured I'd pop in and ask a question. My order is still in the "awaiting fulfillment" status after ordering during the Black Friday sale. Is it likely that it'll be shipped out in time to arrive before Christmas? (iirc I chose priority mail so I still have a few days left before that deadline) It's not the end of the world if it doesn't but I'd be nice to get an update so I can buy an alternate gift in the meantime if it doesn't look likely. Thanks in advance.

yeah the lack of updates or estimated ship date is annoying. I also have a $400+ order from black friday awaiting fulfillment. I am leaving the country for 6 months on January 1st and would like to have brought some guys with me to Japan to play in the big tourney in May but it is looking increasing likely that my black label bag will have to be shipped to my work and wait for me when I return in July. In Hindsight, I guess I should have just bought a case from somebody else and fit the standard BF foam into it myself.
