Hello there. Garfy from the Tale of Painters bloghere aka Gareth Etherington. I had the proud honour of being White Dwarf's first contributor to the Reader's Parade Ground. Without being over dramatic (too late) it's been a childhood ambition of mine to be in White Dwarf since the first issue I bought (issue 175) in 1993. 19 years later I achieve that life goal with a double page spread.

This is a huge deal to me and better then any painting award I've ever won.

I wanted to share some different angles of the models featured with you guys.

Hey there Gareth. You deserve this recognition of your skills being shown to us all in WD. I have always really liked what you do with your models.

I think that my favourtite of these four is the Necron flyer. The blending of the red tones on the body of it is really good and contrasts well with the blue.

Congrats, and well deserved!

We are winged salvation, but we are a terrible, final salvation, and our wings embrace the horizon with fire. We are the Blood Angels. To confront us is to die, and death is my remit, my reality, my unbounded domain. I have known death, and defeated it, claimed it as my own. To my cost, to my strength, death is my one gift to bestow, and I am nothing if not generous.

Great job! Looks like you and I share the common dream. I am glad you reached yours! I am still working on mine. Did you take the pictures? I have a problem getting the quality pictures they need. Any advice, tips, etc on that? I have gotten my stuff on the GW site and have a possibility of getting a spot light in the daily WD blog, but I did not take the photos. Your right the honor of being in the mag is better than any reward. I don't know you, but I know your excited and well worth being excited about! and I am happy for you!

Extremely nice work. The Doom Scythe is definitely a standout.

I also agree that this set is not complete; and clearly needs a Dakkajet!

Congratulations, the paintjob on all those fliers is fantastic!

I especially love the smooth, cool tones of the Razorwing.
Nice blending.

Also, I went back and looked at the bases more closely; they are great as well! How did you do the Necron base?

Seeing a squad of veterens swoop in in a Vendetta, secure the area, deliver that math assignment, and extract within 2 minutes would be freaking sweet.
