And thus the pictures began to flow...

This is one of the latest minis that I've painted, and is the first one that I have both washed and highlighted. I think it worked out quite well

This is the second stormie that I've painted, but unlike the first I decided to drybrush the highlights onto the black rather than edge the entire thing. What one do you think looks better?

Hopefully all this and more will be finished in time for Equinox, as this is going to be my first tournament.

Before I paint my chimeras, I may get some stowage for them, and am looking at this http://www.tamiya-shop.co.nz/shop/tamiya-32510-tamiya-accessory-jerry-p-5397.html

Also, after my most recent game, It has come to my attention (or been brutally hammered into my skull) that I have virtually no AA, and so will be looking at getting some valkyries, and I'll magnetise them so I can use them as vendettas as well, and I may at some stage purchase an ADL and a quad gun
Anywho, I hope you enjoyed the pics. C&C is welcome.

No love ah well

I got a valkyrie!

Before I finish assembling it, I'm going to paint the inside, and will probably add some OSL from the rooftop lights. I'm thinking of using the angle of the spray nozzle to make the higher surfaces lighter and will highlight them up to very close to white, to represent the reflection from the rooftop lights.

Looking good! You may want to throw a wash over your skin tones, faces, and a black wash on your white aquila insignias. Secret Weapons Miniatures "Soft Body Black". You just can't go wrong with it.

I am a big fan of your paint scheme.

Just a quick update; I bought a valkyrie, 2 FW vendetta kits, some 2mm by 2mm round magnets, some tamya ww2 stowage, and some legs and torsos for more special weapons

Also, I've put some paint on the valk, however the weather around here isn't ideal for spraying.

@Briancj; thanks, if you want I can write down the paints and stuff that I use

My magnets arrived in the letter box, although my bitz and my stowage will have to be picked up at the post office, and I'll go and get some black spray tomorrow. Also I need more black paint.

Now, with equinox coming up in may, it is time to decide what to take. I've been thinking of a few lists, with different focusses, but I think I've come up with a good one, which I tested against my friend who has nids and won both games, although I felt pretty bad proxying vendettas. Anyway, what do you guys think;

HQ CCS with 4 plasmas and astropath in a chimera

Troops Veterans with 3 meltas (in vendetta)

Troops Veterans with 3 meltas (in vendetta)

Troops Veterans with 3 flamers and demolitions in chimera

Troops Platoon
PCS with lascannon

INF with commissar, melta bombs, flamer and lascannon

INF with melta bombs, flamer and lascannon

Fast Vendetta

Fast Vendetta

Heavy 2 LRBT both with Hull heavy flamers

Heavy Leman Russ exterminator with hull and sponson bolters

Heavy Leman Russ executioner with hull and sponson bolters

Total 1750

With this, I have good firepower, durability, mobility and counter assault, however in my practice games, I never used the meltas in my vendettas, so I may swap them for flamers and give my exterminator and executioner hull lascannons

Thoughts?

Looking good. In the last picture of the original post there was a plasma trooper. Could you post a single pic of him, I've been thinking lately of trying to get that glow effect on my own guys and just wondering how its done.

Cheers
