I have decided to launch a Kickstarter campaign to expand the rules for Nuclear Renaissance. The expansion is called The Tome of Tridlins, and can be found here:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/179741323/nuclear-renaissance-the-tome-of-tridlins

Nuclear Renaissance is a unique game for tabletop player in that it was built around club or social play. The main premise was to make a game that included rules for multiple players to participate without bogging down. 5 players can get through a game in 2 or 3 hours. The core mechanics are simple. What makes the game come to life is the gang creation rules.

You can download the core rules for free off the Ramshackle Games website. What the new book adds is loads more options fro making your gangs, plus full campaign rules.

good for you.

Good luck with it, please keep us informed

I agree with Reds8n, im hoping this campaign will be a success for you Curtis.

I probably won't be pledging myself (im not a big gamer, so have no use for the rulebook.) But this campaign has reminded me that i've neglected to place an order with Ramshackle Games for far too long now.

Hmm while this campaign is for a rulebook I'm surprised you didnt offer a way for people to fund this via your miniatures besides offering 2 minis

If this game was meant for your minis then some starter pack teams or armies might make some sense

Also how much is shipping? Doesnt say

All shipping on Ramshackle Games stuff is free.

I hear what is being said about more models. I wonder what might motivate you guys to sign up?

Hey Curtis, If I pledge for the £100 'create a guy' option, can I convince you to make a Dungerdon special character? I really LOVE those big guys, they are some of my favorite models!

Miniatures are what move Kickstarters.

^This. I hadn't heard of your company before this kickstarter and am already considering buying some miniatures from you now due to it. Kickstarter+Miniature deals=Spending.

Edit: Your plants are astounding btw. They are pretty much a must-buy to some one like me. (Loves unique models, wants to start more tabletop gaming in my area/create my own)

Edit again: And omg http://shop.ramshacklegames.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=39&products_id=337 I know this thread is for the kickstarter, but my God, I'm falling in love with these miniatures!

I have long loved your line of miniatures, Curtis, and own several of your kits and figures.

I will proudly back this Kickstarter.

Edit:

Also, I sent you an email through your website.

Definitely interested in this one! Are you planning on any pledge levels that include some of the vehicle range?

I agree

I think a pack with the rulebook, 5-10 minis, and a vehicle would be a decent start

It seems like you could make a really simple breakdown of teams based on whats in the video.

Military
Beasts
Mutants
Zombies
etc.

Make a tier with your choice of a 5-10 man team with rule book (as stated by Kenshin).

Make vehicles and larger beasts (dungerdons, hint hint), as add ons. And make stretch goals of Mercs who could be used by any faction every 100 (or 1000) £. Seems like you'd at least clear that £600 in no time, and much further within the next month.

I'm in, best of luck with this Curtis I've been a fan of your model range for some time now.

EDIT: If there were the option of adding some models to my pledge I would definitely do so.

Looks like Curtis is going to need stretch goals soon!

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

OK, thanks for the great advice! The problem of course with doing deals is that my profit margins are pretty small to start with. I always try to offer good prices through the web site. I offered the 2 figure sets as small "reward" options, as the margin on the figures is quite large. I recently added the 5 and 10 figure mix and match sets on the web store, which is pretty much the lowest I can go on pricing them!

I will see what I can offer in terms of vehicles. I liked Skullking's suggestion of some themed sets.

Im not really sure I "get" the stretch goal idea. Can somone please explain it a bit better to me please?

Basically you set new goals giving away more stuff after you have achieved your original goal (which you've almost done already!). So at this point, you could figure out a cost effective way to do this. Say at 700,00 you have a Kickstarter Only model you give away. Or you give away a gang of 5 at a certain goal, a vehicle, etc. As you stretch further and further past the original goal, you give more stuff away.

For some ideas on how this is done, look at the recent Rivet Wars kickstarter as an idea.

Best of luck!

The idea with the stretch goals is just additional goals beyond funding your project. For example, let's say your Kickstarter has met its funding goal. You could list a new goal, a stretch goal, to:

1. Double the number of full color pictures in your book.
2. Provide additional profiles for yet to be sculpted miniatures.
3. Add a short story preface to your book featuring characters in the Nuclear Renaissance setting.

Basically, you can use your stretch goals to increase the scope of your project and add in things you wanted to add but perhaps cut because of budgeting issues, things you could accomplish with additional funding.

Many Dakka users are often more interested in additional freebies that are often given away with additional stretch goals by some of the larger companies' kickstarters, but I think you could use stretch goals simply to increase the quality of your rulebook alone.

Stretch goals dont have to be freebies. You can do soemthing like at 2k you'll sculpt an exclusive mini for an X dollar add on charge. Or offer some existing figures at a discount to backers who have pledged at Y level or higher. Basically its a way to build excitement and encourage your backers to get more people involved, since it gives them new things to buy/get they wouldnt be able to otherwise.

A great suggestion: Make a kickstarter-exclusive mini that can be added on for pledging X dollars over an existing pledge level (so if they're in for the $30 level, they'd pledge 30+X). Exclusives sell like CRAY CRAY

If you do give away Freebies

MAKE SURE YOU CAN AFFORD TO if everybody pledging for the KS will qualify for one, it's the only way to be safe

(for example expecting to only need to pay for 50-100 free figures might make financial sense for you, but what if your KS ends up with 500 backers, and all spend enough for the free figure ?)

Well I added some stretch goals and will be adding some more rewards later this week. I like the idea of being able to give extra option to people who are already backing the project. Im not sure how to implement this though! Will do some research....

Be careful with the stretch goals. I've seen them thoroughly screw up other projects when mission creep got totally out of hand.

My advice is offer more sculpts for sale as stretch goals.

Remember you can always do a second Kickstarter later, as Tre Manor is doing quite successfully.
