They all appear to be listed as no longer available.
Another casualty of GW gutting their specialist/collectors lines?

It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that. |

That's odd. I don't know how the manufacturing of paint works but maybe the last batch of the Edge paints was screwed up and now they're having to reproduce a new batch, making them unavailable until their stock is higher?
Or maybe they just weren't selling as well as the other paints. The colors are a bit . . . Easter-y.

It could just be that like with Death from the Skies anything that isn't going to require a special re-stock (rather than just general manufacture) will be listed as 'out of stock' until a new batch shows up
and a quick check on the UK site finds them available to ship in 24 hrs so i'm even more convinced my guess above is rigt

Didn't these JUST get added as a line like a month ago? The bundle was limited, but they said nothing about limited release for the singles. Perhaps early sales weren't as great as they'd hoped.

Yeah, something is up on their website. It isn't the first product to say 'No longer available' instead of 'out of stock'. Silly way to do things.

Hm if they got rid of them that's another thing to piss off retailers. I know my store only ordered them when GW said they would be a normal line of paints.

Oh no... I might have to mix white with my regular colors now.
I am curious how much of a market there was for these... Maybe there was none?

This was 100% my thought when the first announced them. Making highlight colors is like painting 102.
Still, if discontinued it would reflect poorly on GW. If there was no market for the paints, how did the project get greenlit? Do they do a single shred of focus groups or marketing research? Did they ask 100 painters if they'd buy them(not that 100 is anywhere near a big enough sample size IMO).
Most companies are rather reluctant to release new products without due diligence on market research. Then again most companies don't take out loans to pay dividends.

Might be a QC issue.
My game group is in middle of a HUGE terrain overhaul. We are building and painting 4 tables worth of terrain, mostly from GW and FW stuff. One of my buddies ordered about 75 pots of the various new paints (edge, etc). Half or more of the drybrush ones showed up totally hosed. It looks like the paint gelled up and solidified in the container. The whole thing is rubbery and still has the look to it of having solidified after it was squirted into the pot (think of the way a tub of margarine looks).
They got defensive when he called. The drybrush paint is supposed to be very thick and paste-like, they said. When he tried to explain the difference between "paste like" and "rubbery," they did something I've never even HEARD of GW doing before. Rather than just offering a replacement, they offered a prepaid envelope to ship the bad ones back & said they'd refund/replace any that were legitimately bad.
Sounds to me like these paint lines have been a nightmare from the beginning... which doesn't surprise me in the least, coming from GW.

He's using a valid example though. I've found out that several of the newer washes and bases have a varying quality from pot to pot. Could be that Edge is having the same problems.

The Edge Paints ARE available as they have been since their recent release. At least they are on the US web store. Yet another silly false alarm. http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/armySubUnitCats.jsp?catId=cat1040004a&rootCatGameStyle=paints-tools I own six of the Edge Paints and I find them extremely useful. Good stuff.

From your link, I click Gauss Blaster Green
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1040004a&prodId=prod2010001a
Citadel Edge: Gauss Blaster Green
Gauss Blaster Green is a Citadel Edge Paint.
Personally requested by the 'Eavy Metal team, the Citadel Edge Paints have been developed to help give your miniatures a final sharp, bright highlight. The paints possess the same formulation as the Citadel Layer Paints, but with a much lighter shade to help and you can use them alongside the rest of the Citadel Paint range. The product image above shows some of the colours from the Citadel Painting Guide this Edge Paint can be used with to provide a final highlight.
This pot contains 12ml of Gauss Blaster Green, one of 9 Edge Paints in the Citadel Paint range. As with all of our paints, it is a non-toxic, water-based acrylic paint designed for use on plastic, metal, and resin Citadel miniatures.

Okay, here's the deal as to why they are "No Longer Available" in spite of having their own link under paints menu and the full Edge Paint range still showing on the GW web store. GW Customer Service is stating that they have not been informed whether or not these will become available again. One guess they are making is that perhaps what was being sold on the web were the paints from the unsold limited Edge Paint box sets which may have been split up to sell off the paint individually. Whether or not more will be ordered they do not know at this time. So, why make a big announcement about these being sold separately back in March, giving them a link in the permanent paint menu links on the store, and not even bothering to state that they were a limited time item? GW continues to do mystifying things to their customers.

Except this isn't technically the first batch, as the whole range was already available for some time, just not separately. Personally I'd go with a logistical cock up and a stock shortfall.

lol, this is the first time I have been accused of being a GW hater. People usually accuse me of being a white knight.
As someone who uses almost all the other types of Gw paints, I just didn't see the market for these. The amount of paint needed to highlight is so small compared to other colors, the paint would die before I used it all. Hence why I will mix white from my regular paints.
I think total lack of market could be a valid thing... Could also be QC issues... I just don't see the appeal either way.
