After reading the Assassin dataslate and rules, I quite fancied giving the Assassins a run out on the table top, mainly the Vindicaire and Callidus. I then got to thinking that it might look cool, if I gave them an Eldar makeover to make them fit with my force a bit more. I'm not a huge fan of the old sculpts except for the Vindicaire anyway.

Here's what I've come up with for the Callidus. I haven't read the fluff all the way through, but her load out is poisoned blades (on her back), a neural shredder (I need to add some venom phials to pistol) and a c'tan blade. I couldn't decide what to use for the blade, as I wanted a wrist mounted blade like original model, but there just isn't the spare parts to make one (not on that arm at least). After reading the rules of the blade, it works in a similar way to a Dire sword (6's cause ID), so it seemed fitting to equip her with that. I've tried to mirror original pose of model as best as I can. I might try an make a press mould of a skull to put over soul gem, just to tie it in to original model a bit more.

(Think I got rules wrong, blade ignores inv saves doesn't cause ID))

It looks really nice, what is the paint job going to be?

Thank guys (or girls of course!)

I think that's the easiest conversion out the way. (I'm just using Illic as my Vindicaire) I've got an old eldar power fist on the way for the Eversor's neuro gauntlet, but a little stumped as to what head and gun to give him. The culexus is just one crazy mofo, no idea what to do for that as of yet.

I was actually thinking of sticking to that GW paint job, just to tie it in, but not sure if that's a bit boring. I really suck at painting though :(

The Scourge head is what kicked the whole thing off I wasn't going to do any conversions until I saw that online and thought the braid was perfect for a Callidus head (where does she hide that when in disguise lol)

I clipped feathers out of hair and I don't know if you can see in pics, but have smoothed the beaks ridge and filed off the end, so it doesn't look so bird like

The model looks way cool. For the paint scheme, instead of just doing the basic Imperium assassin black, what about doing a kind of multicolor camo scheme? Like a camo scheme that gradually shifts from green to blue to red is it moves across the assassin, to create the effect that the Eldar's armour changes color to blend in with the environment. That would look awesome, and might fit in a bit better with the normally more colorful Eldar. The only downside I can think of is it'd be a bit harder to paint.

@fallinq - that sounds like a cool paint scheme, but I struggle after I get a basic base coat on. I have 7500pts on unpainted Eldar :S

I've found a good paint stripper for plastic now, so aren't scared of ruining things as much now

Now that is something that I had thought of, the use of the scouge head. Brilliant!
As of the Eversor's gun, if you can find one, the UZI style pistol from Necomunda with a piece of pcard tubing nested inside another piece. As for the head, a skeleton skull head cut in half and mounted on a neck with the back of the head still attached, ie faceoff.

@mudduck, are those your conversions? Nice work I think I'm trying to get away from the skull head, as it's the one part of the model I've never been too fussed on (although fluff may change my mind). I may go for a blank lens face and try and get my friend to paint a skull motif onto the screen

@ryuken87 those are some nice kitbahses, wish the Eldar had more plastic kits I could pillage from. Those phials on the "Vindicaires" back are exactly what I need to add to shuriken pistol to make it a "neural shredder" (poison coated shuriken discs), what part is that?

I think for Eversor I've decided not to have gun in his hand and go for the alternate sculpt which had power sword in one hand, and gauntlet holding a severed head in the other (not sure on doing severed head yet). I want to try and keep these as Eldar looking as I can, whilst still being recognisable for what it is representing. A modified bolt pistol to me just doesn't fit the Eldar aesthetic. I've got an old metal DA Exarch sword, which will need an arm swap and just waiting for that power fist to show up. I'll have a holster to show his pistol on model, and will try and get a press mould of an elder melta bomb off a fire dragon model.

So my ebay parcel arrived with the Eldar powerfist I'd been waiting for, I didn't notice one of the other models had the below gun in his hand. I know it's from the old Eldar weapon sprue (god how we could do with one now for conversions), think it's supposed to be a flamer.

I think it kinda fits as a needle pistol. I'm still unsure on head as the skull is a major part of the Eversor models. I could always paint the lens a bone colour. I do have a battered looking tomb kings skull on the way, so will see what that look like when it arrives. In same parcel I'll be getting a dark elder torso, as I quite liked the looked of the armour plating. I'll post pics of that version when it arrives to get a 2nd opinion from anyone who wants to give one

Anyway, on with the pics of version 1, what do you think of the weapon choices?

Still waiting for more bits to arrive, but had a rummage through my bits box and found a severed head, and the power sword from the shining spears exarch. This lead to mk2 of the Eversor assassin, think I prefer this one

I started getting some base colours down on the Callidus. My scourge torso arrived, so the gun now has it's poison vials attached. Is the red on the hair ties adding too much red to the model?

After a long break from anything 40k related, I started playing again a couple of weeks ago. Apologies for necromancy on the thread, but it's an update to the project so seemed daft starting a new one!

I think I have finally cracked the Eversor, either that or my mind is abot to crack! I swapped the targeter for a dire avenger one, as guardian one seemed too tall. I also got my Harliequinn mask for his face, much prefer it as the skull face was a big part of the modelI have created an eldar style pistol for him. I was going to just do shuriken pistol, but the fluff is about his bolt pistol/needle pistol combo. i've got the handle and ammo clip from the shuriken to make it suitably eldar in style, then clipped the front of an old Orlock bolt pistol. I slung a gas canister off a flamer to use as the poison chamber, then a harliequin kiss as the needle of the gun. It looks a little bent in the photo at the join, but doesn't look as bad in person.

I'm waiting on a new pistol for the Callidus, and am making a new blade weapon, rather than the diresword. Pics of that will come shortly. In the meantime, any thoughts on the Eldar style Eversor? The stock body will get replaced for some legs which mirror the Eversor stance more closely, just need to get them clipped off the sprue. There is a blade for his back, like the callidus model has

That Harlequin face does the trick, it looks fantastic now! I prefer the fist without the head, but I think your earlier Eldar pistol might look okay. This one with the bolter element looks good though.

The first one with the scourge head is great. The other one did not look as good... until you got the new head, and it made it work perfectly.

New head pulls it together nicely. And any model that makes use of the old Eldar power fist gets my vote. Have you considered adding some plasticard blades to the fingertips? Maybe a DE pistol bit instead of the bolter?

I have a spare claw hand from the cultists out of the DV boxed set, may have to attempt a finger tip transplant!

I had thought about just leaving it as the shuriken catapult because that is the bog standard weapon of the eldar, like the bolt pistol is for the imperium. The bolter-hybrid seemed to appeal more. I'll have to take a look at DE weapons

New weapon for the Callidus !I never like the idea of her just having a sword in hand, and wanted to make a bladed weapon which attached to the forearm like the pistol does. So with a bit of chopping using a guardian arm, a harlequin's kiss arm and a high elf blade I have created the below.

I wondered how the weapons disappeared when she morphs, but in the latest dataslate, there is some fluff which describes how a Callidus will hide her weapons until she is ready to strike. So bearing that in mind, her blade, pistol and knives will be in hiding, but the two gauntlet style things the pistol and blade attach to, are part of the morphing suit. She would just have to attach them when she's ready for the kill.

I'm still waiting for the Harlequin pistol to arrive, but that will just be a straight swap with the shuriken pistol on the forearm.

The Disruptor pistol arrived, so I think the Callidus build is now done. I just need to get her painted (always the bit I struggle with). I'm not sure whether that pistol needs something adding, like a magazine clip or vial, or does it look OK as is?
