Have you always dreamed of designing your own miniatures, of personalising them?

With Prodos Games' new service you can commission your own miniature head design (28mm heroic or 32mm). All you need to do is send us some photos and we will 3D render your chosen head. We can even turn you into an Orc, Dwarf, Elf or Zombie, for example. Once we have the render complete we will then vary the features so you could have someone screaming, concentrating, grimacing, thinking, happy or sad for example.
Once there are 5 variants we will print them on our state of the art printer and then cast them for you!

How much will all that cost, I hear you ask, hundreds of pounds/dollars/Euros right? WRONG...
For a 3D render of your chosen head, then sculpted in 5 variants and then 2 of each variant printed the cost is just £80.

If you want more heads we can cast a set of the 5 variants for £4/set by adding from the 3D shop.

I'd like them to offer a service where they fulfill their damn kickstarter first.

We will when we have the final approval. Until then rather than have 20 people twidling their thumbs or worst making them redundant we are ensuring the company continues

Great! Timeframe is still the same "soon" from a year ago I assume?

We gonna be getting everything we're owed or just the core set, then another year waiting for the rest? Is the core set still the resin we paid for or these new plastic sprues you've been showing off?

We will release all, but timelines are not down to us. We want to get everything out as soon as we can.

I thought this was pretty cool.

(I thought it's also been mentioned before a lot of the delays with AvP have to do with fox?)

People always get irate with Kickstaters it would seem, irrespective of that reasons for the inevitable delay. Kickstarters are very, very rarely delivered on time, I assume a delay of about year, which has been working quite well so far.

This is a brilliant idea. They would make great gifts or friends and loved ones who game. I would want to get some done of my wife's face, but money's a thing, and I would like to see a few month's worth of results to guage what the final quality would look like. Don't urgently need the service for myself since most dwarf minis tend to look fairly close.

I'd probably pop mine on a female space marine, just for the reactions.

Yes, I may also order some "soon"! Hopefully they are still selling them in 2017.

Oh I know the risk. It's the deceit and rudeness that bothers me.

Still, hopefully selling custom heads keeps them in business long enough to handle their fulfillment obligations.

I've always wondered why a service such as this didn't exist. About time that it does. It would be pretty snazzy to have five versions of myself commanding my various armies

Do I understand the process correctly in as:
- Photos are sent in. (presumably several, to cover all angles etc.)
- ONE digital "Master head" is created.
- The five variants are created using the "Master head" as a base. One screaming, one snarling, one in an elvish style etc.
- Heads are printed.

Thus the price of £80 is for five variants of the same "master head". You can't get 3 head variant of person A and 2 of person B without purchasing two separate packs.

Seems to be a pretty niche type product to bet 20 jobs on.

Best not wear a branded pair of glasses, your sculpts will turn up a 18 months late because Prodos had to get 'the sign off' from Calvin Klein for a year

Apologies to Prodos, I am being a bit unfair.

Serious question for Prodos though, are you still planning on resin miniatures for the core set, or will they be plastic like the retail versions you've been showing off?

I just want to say that the lack of non bikini wearing super models in miniatures is the only thing that keeps me from getting to excited. If I put my face on my chaos lord people would give me gak about no female space marines. Lol

Maby use it with some of the Victoria female guard mini's lol

This is awfully tempting...
What would it cost to add a body to the head ?

Could accessories be added to the heads like helmets/hats or monocles?

I'd love to get some pith helmeted heads for my Guard army.

Thanks!

Seems we still get resins, which is good. I can't imagine the gakstorm there would be if you gave all the backers plastics in the core set.

Anyway sorry for derailing the thread a bit.

Call me captain Obvious, but are the custom heads designed to fit Prodos' current mini lines ?

I believe they do, probably not the earlier ones but the later ones (if I recall there some resizing done). It does state that they are "in 28mm heroic or 32mm" so that implies 28mm heroic for WH40K and 32mm which is what their line is currently considered.
