Fixes some of the issues.... but we'll have to wait for the Xenos and AM ones. For some fething reason.

Just reprint the books with the amendments.

Obvious rush job and the main offenders in 7th...are still main offenders.

Extra laughs go to apparently Xenos and AM not being important enough for FAQs right away. At least GW actually released them for all the armies.

Also, the giant spawn seems to have become even better, gaining the mark abilities.
DG and TS get everything with mark of nurgle/tzeentch but rapiers.
They also cleared up the wording about the rapier crew, though it's still a bit weird I guess. Most enemies will simply shoot the rapiers and you can hardly do something about it.

Giant Chaos Spawn buffed, one Drop Pod buffed (can now take Decimator, they fething forgot the Kharybdis %#^%$%@), named Characters buffed by giving them their main legions, Souldburner nerfed (points doubled), Brass Scorp nerfed (cannot have powers cast on it at all by friendlies), Contemptor buffed (can now take Havoc Launcher), Dorito nerfed (now must be wholly within to gain invul save).

Time to buy Giant Chaos Spawn or a similar model.

I feel like this FW faq was more to combat the nay-sayers like the meaning of the relic rule and <any chapter>, than to correct rules. But its allways nice to have them shut up regardless

The Xenos and Imperium 2 indicies came out a week later then chaos and imperium 1 so it's safe to assume that they're FAQ is going to come out a week later as well

So where is xenos ? Can you fix my tyranids so the models cost a bit less than 1860 points....

Seriously FW, my harridan is worth 840 pts and an imperial knight sits around 500 pts with better saves, wounds, toughness, invul, guns, etc...

I m losing hope...

Personally, I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed. I want to be upset about the sheer "quality" of FW's rules, but just can't muster the energy to have an emotional reaction.

I agree, it's obvious GW cracked the whip and demanded thy will be done. It's still a big task creating new rules for old models with a new system, so no one should really be surprised here with such a limited time constraint. The result of taking longer to publish updated rules? Decreased sales, as people "wait and see" what rules the FW models are going to have. It's kind of a crappy situation to be in.

Imperial Knight is not a 30" move flying transport capable of carrying 20 gargoyles. I don't know that it's worth 340 points more for that, but it does have more wounds.

It can charge flyers and so it sort of a massive heldrake.

EDIT: Mmm, yea, that's a terrible cost.

Huh, so the leviathan dread only being able to take one grav bombard was actually a typo. It actually is supposed to be able to double up on its ranged weapons.

Guess that thing went right back to being terrifying.

Shield drone buffs Y'vahra/R'varnah continue to be the stand outs from FW and are now even better. There is chatter and speculation that these might make it into the next GW faq too. The Tigershark can now fire all its guns. Thanks FW. That is now a stand out hit as well.

FW really seemed to fix almost all the tau stuff, points costs for the hammerheads now make sense as well, remoras got a buff and R'alai's drones are now more than expensive marker drones. Only thing missing is the question whether the y'vhara uses both or just one weapon's nova profiles when it turns the power up to eleven.

Some highlights:

Autocannon Chimera now exists.

Carriage crews cannot be targeted unless they are the closest model (and as they're technically not characters, most snipers probably don't ignore this).

Searchlight clarified from model/unit to unit/unit.

Searchlights no longer stack with each other.

The Macharius Vulcan no longer violates the space-time continuum.

Marauders have had their engines re-tuned, they are now supersonic.

Krieg has found all of their arty and tanks. The quartermaster responsible for losing them has been ordered to report to his unit's Commissar.

Following a long sermon about showing proper respect for the machine spirits, Elysian tech-priests have reverted the unauthorized modifications made to their plasma guns' overcharge mode.

Elysian quartermasters have notified command that the invoice for ten billion breacher charges was in fact a clerical error. Standard restrictions on breacher charge requisition have been reinstated.

Elysian Veteran Sergeants can now take lasguns. Just them, other sergeants are still SOL.

With the end of the Steam Summer Sale, the Leman Russ Conquerer is no longer 20% off.

Best sergeants (read: Watch Masters) already came with a lasgun stock, and can change it for a bolt pistol, boltgun, hot-shot laspistol, hot-shot lasgun, laspistol or plasma pistol, as well as a chainsword, power axe, power maul, power sword or power fist.
