Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting into some Astra Militarum, and going tank-heavy for fun.
I want to see some tanks. I don't care if they're Astra Militarum Leman Russes or Empire Steam Engines or Chaos Predators, or even tanks from whole other systems. I want to see what sorts of tanks you guys have, what you've painted and converted!
So apart from Eldar grav tanks and one poorly painted Razorback, I've not painted anything from the 40k system in relation to treaded tanks.
That being said, here's my 1/35 scale Tamiya Panzer II diorama I did in December for the Dakka Painting Challenge (got 4th place). This was a fun build overall. I'm very tempted to a Tallarn or Steel Legion tank company based on this scheme. Spoilered photos so people don't have to see every angle:
Spoiler:
Here's one of my six grav tanks:
Here's a 1/72 airfix panther tank which I did back in ~2011. Fair bit of difference here I think!

The Polito form is dead, insect. Are you afraid? What is it you fear? The end of your trivial existence?
When the history of my glory is written, your species shall only be a footnote to my magnificence.

The Grotsnik Corp Bump Feelerer 9,000. It only looks like several bricks crudely gaffer taped to a cricket bat.
Grotsnik Corp. Sorry, No Refunds.
Sponging the metal on at the end was the worst part. After getting a nice coat all over, and dabbing on more.
Don't forget, if you are going full-on tank in Astra Militarum... you don't actually need any infantry models for a valid AM Battle Forged army. Tank Commanders are an HQ choice.

*The earth rumbles at the approach of the armor*
*Steel beasts of every shape and size imaginable roll forwards in a storm of iron*
*The 91st Experimental has arrived. Woe be to those who try to hold back the tide of the Omnissiah's Wrath*
*For if the multitude of smaller machines do not grind you to dust. The mightiest giants will break you with their guns and armor*
Ave Armatura Deus, May his throne move swiftly on tread, guns never tire, and armor never yield.
Warning. Large number of Pics in the spoiler.
Spoiler:
The queen sized bed (and table) in the spare room cannot hold everything I have. The Infantry (a lot of IG, a good bunch of Skitarii, and a few SM) cannot fit neatly on the bed and/or have their picture with the tanks without breaking my back leaning backwards)
Tanks of every size and type. Spider Tanks. Hover Tanks. Tanks with Sonic Weapons, Plasma weapons, Atomic Shaped Charged emitters, Quantum Singularity Cannons and many many more.
Each has a name (if I can remember it) and a tale to tell. I have way too much fun building them. Yes I know a bunch are not painted or modified. I need to get time to get back to work on them!
Knight Titans (3 of them). Stormhawk, Valks, Tempests, and more.
In the back (and center) are mighty super weapons. The Sword of the Omnissiah, Ordinantus Majoris (Sonic Disruptor) (Right), Atomic Cannon (center), War Zeppelin (top center), and P-1000 (Left).
The P-1000 still needs completing but is a massive machine (and kit. 1/72nd scale P-1000). laiden with guns.
(The Valk in the picture usually has 4 large rotor blades. I decided to not put them on as they get easily damaged. The blades are on the base of the Zeppelin)

Regiment: 91st Schrott Experimental Regiment
Regiment Planet: Schrott Specialization: Salvaged, Heavily Modified, and/or Experimental Mechanized Units. "SIR! Are you sure this will work!?"
"I HAVE NO IDEA, PULL THE TRIGGER!!!" 91st comms chatter.
I've not got quite as impressive an army as some of you, but that's just how it ought to be for the black templars. You descend from the heavens, charge the enemy, and bring him to righteous annihilation in glorious close combat, before setting everything on fire and going home to pray.
Here are the Gilead, and the Danzig, my only completed tanks. The former-a land raider, has never not been shot off the table at least 12' away from enemy lines (tough luck for my assault termies) while the Danzig - my rhino/razorback has been similarly short-lived and short-ranged. However, learned a lot while painting them, as they were both much earlier projects, and I'm pleased with how they look
