I don't want to get anyone's hopes up but I hear from a source that GW is working on a project they call Warhammer 40,000 X. I was confused about what the X meant but then I remembered that the ancient Romans would sometimes use the letter X to mean ten. And since 40k uses so much Latin and Roman symbolism I reached the only logical conclusion, that Warhammer 40,000 X is in fact a tenth edition!
So I've compiled a list of completely false rumors that I made up just now.
1 - Knowing how fans are bewildered by the sheer number of factions and sub factions, Warhammer 40,000 X will take a page from Age of Sigmar and condense them into 3 super factions: Space Marines, Chaos Marines and Xenos.
2 - But you can customize your faction rules through warlord traits. For example Xenos players can take cowardly, clumsy or stupid to simulate Eldar, Tau or Orks.
3 - Space Marines can customize their armies through the traits Fanatical, Really Really Fanatical, and OMG Fanaticalist to simulate Ultramarines, Imperial Fists or Black Templars.
4 - While Chaos Marines can be customized as Bloodthirsty, Thirsty for Blood and Srsly Do You Think of Anything But Blood? to cover Night Lords, Iron Warriors and World Eaters.
5 - Oh $%^&, Timmy the Intern just pointed out this doesn't cover the Mechanicus, the Sisters or those other guys. So just count them as Marines and we'll add traits for them like Nerdy, Girls and Wimpy.
6 - Warhammer 40,000 X is the most balanced and playtested ruleset so far, GW has played as many as 4 games, one of which did not involve Marines.
7 - These simplified, streamlined rules will ensure fast and fun games for both players.
8 - For like 2 weeks till the first Codex comes out.
9 - Initial Codexs will include: Ultramarines, Space Wolves, Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Black Templars, Grey Knights, Death Watch, Imperial Fists, Crimson Fists, Iron Chorus, Regal Fists, Ironclad Templars, Rainbow Warriors, Primaris Black Templars, 1000 Angry Bald Men and The Emperor's 9mm Uzis. Other Codexes may follow before 11th edition if there is demand.
10 - Space Marine squads will now require 11 members. Single Marines will be sold for $30.

Ok here you go:
The new Carnifex is just a giant monopose kit with no options, and it will be sold as one-per-box at $110, contrasting greatly with the previous kit which was $90 for two highly modular models.

14) When playing Chaos the player has to put all of the models he owns into a bag and randomly pull out 10 models per squad. If the player ends up with non-power armor in the squad then just pretend that it is power armor with mutations.
15) Chaos squads will have the same Statistics as Space Marines except each stat will be one less.

I know we're making stuff up, Doc, but some things are just plain unbelievable.
16, In an attempt to increase the number of Xenos factions in the game, Kroot Mercenaries will get their own Codex - but won't be able to ally with Tau.
17, For some reason stats will be different for basic Kroot Carnivore squads between the two books, and GW will make no effort to clarify what's going on.
18, Exodites will continue to be mentioned in the background, but won't get a Codex.
19, The only GSC model released this cycle will be another character - a M2O re-release of the Patriarch on Throne from Rogue Trader.
20, Dark Eldar will see another new plastic version of Lilith, this time with a new hat.

22-Based on GW's blackout dates, internal memos and email chatter I predict the 40kX box set will go on sale June 24 at 10 am.
23 - It will sell out on June 24 at 10:01 am, and not be reprinted.
24 - However copies will be available on ebay for $500+.
25 - Warhammer 40,000 XI will go on sale in July with the campaign boxed set Blacker Than Black featuring the Black Templars fighting the Black Legion and Black Guardians in the middle of a Black Crusade.
26 - Based on some concept art, Necromunda fluff and internet rumors there is a chance that Squats may return, possibly with a new name.
27 - The 40kX launch box will pit the heroic Ultra Marines against a Squat superheavy tank known as a Leviathan.
28 - Two words - Plastic Sisters of Battle. It's finally happening.

The Basic Rulebook will include a number of tables representing the Imperial Horoscope that you need to consult at the beginning of each game. It will provide bonuses and penalties, different for the three factions, that apply to the game based on a number of external factors like time of day, day of the month and week, and the alignment of the planets, and the results of a D666 roll.

Lower number of stratagems and CP, fewer relics, fewer psychic powers. To recreate The Nuke Librarian with half the fire power and double the number of damage sources, GW would have to print an entire page of just witch fires
It would be worth to see the face of an opponent, when the GK player takes out his deck of missions and objectives, then one laminated card for his detachment rule, then two pages for his army, all nice and cool just like any other army, then a few pages for each type of GK units being run, which aren't that many.... And then the GK player starts to take out a laminated rule card for each of his units and characters, covering the entire table with his army rules half up to the table.

-The next faction to be introduced will be the Legion of the Dammed, lead by the headless corpse of Ferrus Manus.
-their are no plans for futher Votann relases. over the next year, production of kits will tail off, the whole army will be unavailable form GW, and before the end of the edition, they will no longer be acknowledged in GW lore, though never explicitly retconned. Years later, the whole thing will turn out to be a the result of a bet between James Workshop and unidentified wargame creator (commonly thought to be the creator of battletech, Sabastian Mechs).

To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be relearned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.

Because of all the issues with plastic production and selling out to preorder etc. and due to the clear and obvious love that Warhammer fans have for resin products, GW are discontinuing plastic kits and Forgeworld will now take over 40K miniature production.
Their first release will be a Primaris torso for $40 and a month later you will then be able to purchase a variety of weapons and helmet options.
All non-Primaris figures will move to the Legends range but you'll have to make up rules for them yourself.

The figures will be all of the Juvenile figures from Necromundia. In a press release a GW spokesperson stated, " This way people will be involved in 2 games with one purchase."
What was not included in the statement was the fact that all of the figures will be sold individually at $25 each.

46 - The confusing mix of stats and point values will be simplified down a single number per model - the Model Stat for Relative Power or MSRP. Which is expressed in Pounds.
47 - Models with a higher MSRP will beat models with a lower MSRP but lower MSRP models can combine their power.
48 - MSRPs will be adjusted upwards every few months.
49 - OOP models only available on the secondary market will be assigned an MSRP of zero.
50 - In game players can gain more MSRP by charging their credit cards in the Warhammer + app.

- After looking over the entire history of Marines and what defines them as a faction, GW will put aside And They Shall Know No Fear and the Doctrinal Combat that stems from the Codex Astartes and instead choose something first introduced in the Horus Heresy novels - Oaths of Moment - to be the one thing that links all Marines together. - After looking at decades worth of backstory and the various rules that have shaped the Chaos Legions, be it since their early days in the Realms of Chaos books, or their most recent release, GW will decide that the thing that most makes a Chaos Marine a Chaos Marine is the ability to be randomly killed by literally any weapon they wield at a moment's notice. - With careful consideration GW will come to the conclusion that when used separately, Flamers, Meltaguns, Plasma Guns and Grav Guns are all different weapons that must remain within their own niche. However, if you ever strap a bolter to any of these guns, they suddenly all become one and the same.

#54 - Concerned that lethality is still too damn high, GW will grant all infantry models 2W base (weapon damage will not be changed). In order to maintain the current relative durability of Space Marines, all Primaris units will be boosted to 4W base.
#55 - In an abrupt shift of policy, all units currently in Legends units will have a Made to Order run...in .stl format. The .stls will cost twice what the model did at the last availability, adjusted for inflation, and have a proprietary file format incompatible with all known 3D printers.
#56 - The Psychic phase will have all rules removed, with players expected to resolve psychic effects via collaborative Theater of the Mind minisodes (don't forget to brush up on your improv skills before tourneys!).
