Well I have been wondering, how much use do chaos/sm players get from this set up?

Anyone have much experiance with them?

I have been thinking of using a few for a chaos force with just extra armour because they are cheap and add some speed plus good vs most armies except 2+ stuff which the las/plas squads can deal with.

If you take chaos preds, d.possession is pretty much compulsory.

well i have one but i hardly ever use it. i have both an annihilator and a destructor pattern set up on both ends of the scale simply becasue i liked the models. now that 4th edition has made the vehicles effective the best way to use a pred is with the las and 2 HB sponsons(i always stick a stomr bolter on as well formore shots)-you move 6" fire everything. you get 1 less shot with the las over the AC but it rounds out the same since the las is TLd  it is also higher strength and better AP

i have fought against chaos preds and i can tell you the mutated hull, parasitic and demon posses preds are better than lad raiders as a gun platform and cost a little less. regrowing the weapons or the immobilized results to get your full points back is a bugger especially when you cannot be stunned or shaken. >

Well the Predator destructor IMO can be either very handy or not a lot of help at all. It really depends on who you are fighting. Obviously its going to be a IG and Tau killer and it can also take out a lot of Nids too. But if you come up against those 3+ save armies you are going to have a really difficult time finding things that the pred can easily take out.

Personally I never use Predator Destructors but thats because I don't play a lot of non 3+ save armies. Just remember that since it is a predator it is going to be a big target for your opponent.

For 20 Points more you get the Twin Linked Lascannon + Heavy Bolter Predator. You lose one shot from an Autocannon and get a near-gauranteed Lascannon shot that can now take down tanks or get a near-gauranteed MEQ Kill.

From using the Destructor, unless you have a ton of las/plas squads you're going to to be hating the thing. Against MEQ's or anything with a 3+ save, it's going to struggle. If you're facing loyalists it can be nice to take down a Tornado, but generally if you're going to get a predator I'd rather see an Annihilator with Heavy Bolter Sponsons

I will echo the TL Lascannon & HB w/ Storm Bolter. You have a tank that has a range of uses so if you end up going up against someone who has no armor you have horde killing power, and if they are armor heavy you have the TL lascannon.

Drano doesn't exactly scream "toy" to me.
