P-S PPP are great. Loving the color scheme. Really like how Bane and Cheetah are looking.

I really like the card Joker terrain, that looks like a great start to a set of terrain for a Batman game.

And the PPPs are looking great too, hope Mrs Graven is pleased.

And you're too kind, as usual.
It's nice terrain. I'm still a wee bit concerned about the stability of the ferris wheel though.
Now to see if I can convince the missus to actually play!

youwashock wrote:P-S PPP are great. Loving the color scheme. EReally like how Bane and Cheetah are looking.

Well hope you approve the below.

And the rear, which really shows off the Tumbler

And a scale shot with the Axe Thug

Axe thug solo

So pretty... relieved to have finished the 2nd Ed box set now ,3rd Ed is out
Finished up Scarecrow also

And, because clearly I cannot paint anything beyond the browns and yellows - Cheetah

I worry that the base is a little empty but still

Continuing the animal theme... Bronze Tiger

Crap character in the comics. Interesting character in TV. But a lovely model.

Animal antics

So good to get some bits finished off. There are no longer half a dozen figs balanced on my router (it's warm and next to my paint desk, leave me alone).

Kinda hoping that if I'm stuck in my house with plague at some point I might get stuff built. Failing that, I can always paint something on my desk, right? Might do the Hellboy characters, so the starter is done. Like I say, I don't respond well to feeling like I *have* to do stuff.

In other self-care news, went for a couple of beers with a mate tonight whilst our kids were at Scouts. Can you tell?

All looking great, Bane and Scarecrow especially. I actually like that Tumbler base more than a lot of KM's recent mega-bases!

It's always amazing opening this thread and seeing this width of models and games. I mostly envy, that you can play games with your family, my two boys will need a few years, before I can rope them in, although they already love the models
And if you can tric... eh convince your wife to play the Batman game, I need infos on the method. Trying to convince mine to play Blackstone Fortress for month, but it doesn't work

Fully approve. The Tumbler base for Bane worked out perfectly, and Cheetah is the cat's pajamas. All the glowiness on Scarecrow looks good, too.

Thanks. I think it's unlikely, but worth a shot, eh?

Cheers mucker!

Can't get motivated to the Back to Gotham stuff: I'm definitely suffering from "You-have-to-do-this-itis". My brain is seriously stubborn. Instead, it wanted to do bunkers for Aeronautica
Imperial Bunker

And the reverse

And Ork

And together.

But that's fine. Got that out of my system now...

Rargh!

Wanted a paintjob that worked for both regular and spectral versions. Pretty happy.

Who knows? Might start on the BMG stuff now. Doubt it thought...

monkeytroll wrote:Definitely approving of those bunkers

next stop, mekyard!

I had a good weekend, all in all.
Got to use the bunkers in a game with the boy:

First time using a full-size Aeronautica Imperialis board (well 3x6 anyway).

It definitely favours the hoo-mons with their pesky mid range nastiness but da orks managed to lure da Straggler into a dogfight for da win. A very close game, went down to the last turn and an excellent hour was had. Definitely need to get the Grot Bommers built, if only to play the scenario as Defender rather than Attacker.

I also got started, finally, on building some BMG3:

The Todd MacFarlane Batman was remarkably quick and easy to build, and whilst it won't be to everyone's taste I'm glad they've done something interesting. Built Gordon on his 60mm, most impressive and again, dead easy.

And used the leftovers to start a base for Joker Rebirth (he'll probably get a smilex fish and/or chattering teeth also).
That's 40mm Gordon's base plus 40mm Joker's cannister. Just to confuse the issue, this is the new DCUMG Joker, not the BMG joker, but potato, potahto.

But I decided what I actually wanted to do was finish my Hellboy base game:

Hellboy

Gotta love Big Red

Not sure about that fold at the bottom right of the coat.

Abe

Actually my favourite of the character sculpts.

Liz

Decided to go for purple (so movie, not comic) for her fire because that fits with target priority in game (Red, Blue, Yellow, Purple)

And Johann

Likewise, amped up the ectoplasmic yellow a bit.

A very satisfying sight:

Started on the rest of the Arch-Villains for Dredd

So Grice, Orlok and Satellat. Very happy with the shiny East-Meg Red They'll get done in the next couple of days, which leaves just Mean Machine and ... Death!

Nice stuff.

Big Red and his crew look great.

Nice to see an appearance by Orion and Satellat, that does look a suitably shiny red.

Very interested to see what you do with the McFarlane Bats, the sculpt looks lovely, captures the feel brilliantly, but no idea how I'd go about painting it.

I don't disagree necessarily about the Bat sculpt, but I like that they're trying to different things that capture different aesthetic and iconic comic images.

youwashock wrote:The Hellboy crew looks great. That TM Batman is really something. I look forward to seeing how he turns out.

Lol me too. He's going to be black and blue but black cape, blue lining like the comic cover. We'll see how that works out.

Thanks on all counts. I do love my various red menaces I think I'm going to paint the whole thing dark navy blue and then blend the outer down to black and the inner up to a mid/ultra. Mebbe.

Fifty wrote:Ooh, 2000AD stuff - nice. I have some ABC Warriors I need to paint up, but god alone knows when I'll get that far.

Atomic Bacterial Chemical warriors sound the very thing right now. Although really this year feels like the arrival of the Dark Judges: Fire and Mortis are doing double time this year so far, seem to be doing Fear's job for him...

Yorkright wrote: Hell boy and crew look great. I have to ask how long did it take to finish them all?

They were not a big job. Everything primed black, then 2 hrs for all the frogs, about an hour on the tentacles, skulls, and Rasputin, a couple of hours on the 4 characters. But that's bitty and doing other things at the same time.
Heretic Tom wrote:The Hellboy minis look incredible! I love 'em, your style really shines on those great sculpts. And I'm excited to see more Dredd stuff too!

Many thanks! I'm almost at the point where I'm up to date with my Dredd stuff, so may even justify more. I'm tempted to actually expand my scenery for Dredd generally, a couple more 1x1 boards.

Yeah, it's nice, the little guy mostly just has hobby envy so in many ways Mortal Realms is ideal. Plus, isolation prep

Very jealous!

Can I just thank you so much for the kind words all. Definitely helping me stay sane.
As promised, Orlok the Assassin and Satellat.

I have Lou Reed stuck in my head on loop.

And, Grice.

Plus, Mean Machine, in full headbutt pose

Hard to get a decent pic

So really decent progress on the villains set, all in all.

Also made a wee bit of progress on Death, plus Katana and Deadshot for DC. I've also separated out the other Hellboy stuff, ready to prime. Meanwhile, a torture table (?) from AoS maybe, that felt very Hellboy:

School is really odd. Monday we were at 65% of roll, yesterday felt more like 40-50. We'll see what today brings,

We had about 75% Monday, 65% yesterday. I don't work Wednesdays, so god knows today. Now... no GCSEs or A-Levels...

Woah...

I might get lots of extra painting time, but I have no kids of my own, nor vulnerable dependents, so I guess I'll be one of the teachers in most of the time looking after keyworkers' kids. That sounds kinda bitter, so I had better point out I'm happy to do it! Whilst I am healthy, anyway...

Didn't realise you were one of us strange breed! My wife's NHS (biomedical sciences lab manager), and both of us have aging/vulnerable parents, so I am the childcare (bearing in mind that little miss is only 4, so still at nursery). It's fine, I have routines planned for them, incorporating literacy particularly (I'm English/Media) ... and some art My main worry is acutally keeping them active: my kids usually swim, rock climb, tae kwon do, never mind the daily walk to school. Cycling and R/C car walks are high on the agenda.

So here's the pre Isolation preview pic:

Let's have a wee rundown of what's there -
Chaos Cultists
Gaslands cars (primed)
Infernal Dreadball Team
Deathstroke
Promo Dreadball Player
BTAS Batgirl
Judge Death
WIP Gasland Car (also needs a ram), "L.T. Smash".
Katana
AoS Sigmar (Kid 2's)
Deadshot
Joker
Dumbledore
Gordon
Batman #400
Man-Bat JLD
and just in shot, all the other BMG3 stuff in baggies plus a little Orky WIP
Not pictured: Dredd vs. Death display fig, allllllllllllll the Hellboy, Transforming Dreadball Robots, Gundam Dreadball Robots, Grot Bommers and (randomly) a Death Guard Icon Bearer.

I'm also running a Superb Owl contest for Dreadball, here's the trophy:
