Just got my copy of Pink Floyd's latest album. Giving it the virgin spin now.

So far I like what I'm hearing.

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

A 90's dance tune the internet is seemingly unaware of, on a mix tape I have that may well be by Graeme Park - banged out like a gospel number but the first verse is

"So what's your occupation said the sinner to the priest,
If you join my congregation there are people we can fleece.
There is money for the taking, there is providence in crime,
If you wear the holy mantle you'll have power so divine"

Then it goes mad heavy techno for a bit. 7 pages of youtube reveal nothing to me.

A song which I remember hearing on the radio once, but never being able to find. Random Youtube links somehow turned it up again and well, the grin on my face is genuine.

Well, not actually right now since I'm in class, but I've been listening to Blind Guardian, a power metal band. Listening to the single (Twilight of the Gods) they released from their newest album (Beyond the Red Mirror), and looking forward to its full U.S. release date.

I'm looking forward to their world tour, but so far they haven't announced any U.S. tour dates. Hopefully there's Atlanta or Charlotte, which are near where I live, or a day in Philadelphia so I have an excuse to visit my friends and see my first concert at the same time.

The soundtrack's great. ...Good enough that I can listen to the same track on repeat during Hard mode for an hour at least.

I also like a lot of there other songs.

It is a Social Distortion evening here. Their newest has some good stuff, and I have Live at the Roxy next in line.

a very cool song and a FANTASTIC video:

One of my favorites on the disc:

Live at the Roxy is probably one of the best produced live discs I've heard. Just phenomenal.

Tangentially related to the much loved late Christopher Lee, though don't tell him that, he's just glad nobody everyone was mentioning his part in the Lord of the Rings in the news reports.

Damn I'd love to see a biopic of his life. ...Or for the British government to at least release all their files on him at some point.

I've recently been back on a "listen to music that came out or was about a decade or so old when i was in high school" kick... so a lot of 80's / 90's metallica, some ACDC, and some Sabbath. Mix in a little Bad Religion, Black Flag, True Sounds of Liberty, and some Social D, and that's what i've been enjoying the most lately.

Exalt to Captain Jake for posting some newer Social D. That whole album is really, really good. I try to see Mike Ness / Social D everytime they come to new england.

I've been itchin' to make a descendents / dead kennedys / circle jerks / bad religion cut up mix. That might be next.
