I personally think this looks so much cooler than the ML guy. I especially love how the collars look on this hacker.

I am, however, afraid Infinity is going through a armored-with-a-coat phase with an increasingly large amount of models with this gimmick. It might become stale soon.

Will this Zhanying be the perfect amalgam of memes between combat heels, tactical debris, coat, and the sassy hip?

4 new things(Sukeul, Rodok, Airborne, and Zhanying), 1 resculpt(Riot Grrls are resculpts no matter what some might argue), and two repacks(Ekdromoi and Knights).

Notably absent is the "Outrage" pack, which I'm going to go ahead and call out as the GenCon "exclusive".

It's going to have to be beyond awesome for me to want to pick it up...

I've decided to pare down my Infinity forces to 'just' Haqqislam's Ramah Task Force, a Jotum focused PanO force (the eventual Svalarheima Sectorial), and just about everything Combined.

And maybe a small Aleph faction.

Which means I'll soon be selling a ton of Nomads and Ariadna.

Anyway, the Rodok from this month is quite nice!

Man if the Outrage box is what CB is bringing to the table at Gencon then bring on the 40k 8th edition onslaught because my hobby is ready.

So here's the Outrage box...

Three don't suck, Beba is terrible, Domovoi looks like a Gary Morley sculpt, and the "lolsexykidfromthelore" is way obviously resized from normal size.

I'd say Jethro would be tolerable if a solo release as well as Shunya. Emily is a competent model but nothing worth a purchase. Domovoi and Uhahu are just bad. Beba is so bad that all the other models in the box, the person who buys them and the parents of the purchaser all feel a slight bit of shame by association.

Eh, not surprised they left Nakadai and Jethro's masks off. Nevermind there was a whole page in the comic dedicated to the design of Nakadai's mask and he only goes without it for a couple panels. I think the Outrage box is largely a pass. Jethro is really the only one I'd be interested in having.

Love the new Riot Girls, think a big improvement over the previous sculpt. They carry a lot more energy than the standing-in-line originals, punk-ish odd haircuts (like Die Antwoord-style). Would love to go to town on painting that armour as well, seems Nomads are finally becoming the most colourful of factions that their background suggests they should be.

And I am stunned that anyone can think the Zhanying is anything other than a thing of beauty. As cool as feth to boot, what a sculpt.

There's no disputing tastes, Pacific. It's not to my liking, as noted, but I'm glad you like it. For me, it really is the coat with the (in scale) ~3" thick fabric that bothers. Ah well, I was never going to add a Zhanying to my small Yu Jing collection anyway. ( Su Jian, Hac Tao and a few others. Just enough to have 300 points, and a small amount of variety.)

The face on that Molotok wielding ranger seems like it should be familiar. Is it a pop culture reference? It is a nice mini.

The Riot Grrls. Not angry looking enough. They need to look, like, 23.5% angrier. </joke> What an improvement over the old box! These I like. The tinbot is large enough to proxy as a helperbot (palbot, nasmat, etc).

The other minis are nice, but that Outrage box...

Beba Rodriguez looks to make a reasonable proxy for the execrable Tech-Bee mini. (Do I need to add the </joke> tag to this comment?

Emily and Nakadai are nice enough. Uhahu is what, a newspaper delivery boy? jethro, gee, YASM (yet another Sniper Mini) I have no idea about their profiles so I cannot say if this makes a good starter Merc box. ( they are listed as Mercs.)

I'd like to see a higher resolution image before making final judgement though.

This Merc box is labeled as an "Outrage" box and unlikely to be the starter. Plus, having an entire starter full of characters is a bit much even if it were Steel Phalanx.

I'm hoping the White Stars mercs will at least have a group of common troops like the Kaplan or Druze.

I'd been planning to just play Corregidor, but more and more I suspect I'll be expanding out into the rest of Nomads.

Can't wait to beef up my Rodoks with that missile launcher

Yes exactly. There is also nothing natural about the way it fits to the body or hangs in space.
Very similar to the fatty authorized bounty hunter that came with the N3 preorder. The model would be great without the silly coat.

Can't say Riot Grrls ever excited me much to begin with. Like the other Nomad HI profiles, they're just not exciting to me.
New minis are an improvement, but I guess we'll have to keep using the older spitfire mini for the time being :-/

Have you not read the manga? If you haven't and intend to, beware.



I hope Jethro is available to QK and is linkable with Druze. I was super happy with the focus on the Druze in the manga, so giving QK a Druze character would be great.

Not much of a Manga reader, me, so no worries about the spoilers. I was referring to the way Uhahu looks, with the ballcap and the messenger bag. The mini would proxy nicely as many things, come to think of it, and for any faction. It could be a HVT too.

A Druze character would be a fine addition to QK. We'll see when the Army Builder updates. All of these minis will get profiles and be available somewhere. They cannot all be available only to Yu Jing

Now that I've seen better resolution photos... Beba could be painted to be wearing a catsuit and serve as a TAG pilot proxy for any TAG, really, and not just an Anaconda. The mini would be good as a Guijia Pilot, better than the current mini. Emily is generic enough to be for any faction except Ariadna. Domovoi needs to be on a 40mm base, and is the only mini I see no use for outside of Ariadna-- faction which I don't play, or collect. Or use them as intended. We'll see what sort of availability they have soon enough.

They are all nice enough minis, a decent collection of minis, good but not show-stopping. Something seems off about the painting.

I suspect that we've seen these releases early to clear the way for the GenCon announcement.

Red Harvest - yes these things are subjective I suppose, I see what you mean now about the thickness of the cloak. Wonder if this was a limitation of the casting?

Not sure about the face of the airborne ranger - maybe Russian tennis player Svetlana Kuznetsova? Definitely a Slavic look about her.

Still haven't got hold of Outrage although must do at some point, how does the story stand up aside from it being a manga?

The story itself is pretty standard sci fi fare with a bit of an infinity twist. Won't win awards but it's a great introduction to the universe.
