I did not see any on the LATD list. It has the identical artwork etc. in the same locations as well.

Shockingly awesome! Now if they'd only do the same for the SoC lists and we'll be cooking with gas.

but did you guys read the blurb in the SW section stating tha tthe list was legal for 2006 GT's but as for 2007, they didnt know? That could be bad tidings. I hope they keep the lists around, they add a lot of fun to the game.

Yeah, but I didn't see the option of buying the warboss a bike listed (unless that's in the regular Ork faq for 4th ed. and not the KOS faq).

From the LatD page- "For all other games, you will need to get your opponent's permission before playing." That really sucks. I don't know many people who would object to someone fielding LatD, but it sucks that you have to ask. So I guess it's semi-official. It's okay at GT's, but you have to check to see if RT's are allowing it. That really makes me confident about converting and painting an army. Oh yeah.

Translation - We have made an army that is sub-par for playing, requires extensive conversion and, as an added bonus, you may not be able to play in events.  We are GW, we love you.

It could be worse, you could've paid $25 for the Storm of Chaos book a little over two years ago and built one of the armies for it only to have GW put it out of print and say it is no longer tourney legal! Ain't that sweet?

Great, so they clarified the wording on the 'Can the Warboss take a Super Cyboar if he doesn't have a retinue and Pigdok' question... but put back the typo in the Madboyz disturbed table and reverted Squiggoths to the rules-nightmare 'Monstrous Transports' that they originally were. Doh.

No- I'm pretty sure he's talking about one of my armies.

So does GW hate us personally, or do they just hate taking our money.  They obviously don't want any more of it.

Maybe the money bin is full.

At least they are giving warning that these may or may not be legal. First time GW has ever done a caveat emptor on any of their stuff. I have much respect for that. You can build it, but don't biatch when it's not legal in tourneys

So KoS has a "opponents consent" disclaimer now? Why am I suddenly weary of starting my Warboss on a Bike conversion along with putting together the other Trukks I own?

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

The permission thing is so stupid. Those of us who went out and made LatD armies don't like being told we cannot use our previously-legal army like that. I love my LatD force... why the hell shouldn't it be legal all the time?

I did notice this in the rules for the first time:

'The Boss may purchase up to 15 points worth of weapons and wargear allowed by the Chaos Space Marine armoury (but no Marks, Gifts or other items).'

Or any other items? Ok, so he can purchase 15 points of wargear and weapons, he just cannot take any items from these lists. Good.

Why not quote the whole thing:

"Is This List Official?
This list was legal for the 2006 U.S. Grand Tournament, whether it or not it will be in the 2007 tournament season remains to be seen. If you wish to use this list in Rogue Trader or other Tournaments, we recommend you check with the tournament organizers first. For all other games, you will need to get your opponent's permission before playing."

Being a disapointed LatD player, I can't help but feel that the next step is, "Bye bye, LatD."

Hey guys,
On the "Legality" issue. The revised lists being uploaded are having the opponents permission line removed. These were legal lists when they came out, and they will stay that way.
As for tournaments - all of these lists will be legal for the 2007 GT season. They will also be considered legal for the standard RTT guidelines. As always, individual RTTs can do what they like in terms of allowing and disallowing things, but for the standard rules they are legit.
More info will be coming soon about the exciting new Tournament plans for 2007. We'll be unveiling all that very soon!

Jeff, that's great news! Thanks for letting us know.

I have a GS cult army planned using the LatD list, but I'm still a little wary about starting it due to the rumors about a new Chaos codex in late 2007. There were also rumors about multiple Chaos codicies, but I think the SM template (main Chaos book, separate World Eater, Death Guard, etc. books with "upgrade" sprues) is more likely than a separate LatD book. I wouldn't be surprised to see them "include" LatD in the regular Chaos book by creating a Mutants entry in the main list, or something like that.
