He's almost as tough as the Bloodthirster but doesn't fade away, and when he fights the Ork Squiggoth and wins, he actually decapitates the damn thing! Oh my! I think I have to pick this up just to see this!!!

I guess I missed it, but besides the flash gitz for the Orks, what new units will we be seeing for every other army?
I could've sworn I saw something about heavy weapon platoons for the IG, if so, that'd be nice.

Very, very hot! I can't wait for some flashgitz to make my bad moons suitably bad moonish.

i have not seen any clips of them, but they are supposed to be really nice models.
the heavy weapon teams are supposedly weak on the move, but when they entrench themselves, they get a huge defensive bonus.
the flash gits are there to add anti armor shotting 2nd teir to the orcs (which they need) as they have custom blastas.
deamon hunters are really tough in HtH and (obviously) kick the crap out of deamons. however, you can only have one unit at a time of them.
the deamon prince is the deamon prince. pretty self explanatory.
i am really excited about this expansion, the single player non linear game sounds great. i cant wait to get it, i am even going to upgrade the rig just for this game.

Holy crap Jester- your brethren can really kick some butt! I love the flash gitz video too, but I'm not too keen on the models they used- they look too much like a bunch of big shoota boys and not enough like orks with expensive and personalised experimental weapons.

Agree on that...too big for my tasting. But looks very promising nonetheless. My greatest fear is that they keep the dumped down style of winter assault. You could tier up like crazy there and low-medium tier clashes were seldom...very uncool for my liking.

Has anyone taken a look at the Heavy Wpns Team "trailer". The last scene looks like something out of Zulu Dawn, piles and piles of dead orks in front of the teams as they continue to fire into the charging orks. Makes you wonder who is going to go out and clean up their fields of fire.
Looks like its time for me to upgrade my compter, so I can enjoy all the video carnage.

HERETIC! You must play them NOW! Seriously, you're missing out on some really good games, and I say this as both a 40K player and a RTS player.
|
As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

Any hardcore DoW players here then, who know how to mod the game? Tell me how to get rid of the box that appears virtually hundreds of times each game, in the midlde of the screen: Seems to be a massive oversight by the games designers by leaving a permanent 'tutorial' mode on. I've posted at relic forums and dowsanctuary and everyone said they just got used to the box, which is like saying they've been eating crap for so long it doesn't taste so bad anymore.

Well, as Ed Maule once famously said: "Therion's from Finland, where comp does not exist. Where he's from the trash we're forced to field for a tournament would lose to a 12 year old." - bigchris1313 |

Turn off your tutorial tips. Also, make sure you're running the latest build. To do that, just try to play a multiplayer game. DoW will automatically patch itself with latest and greatest.

yeah you dont need a mod for that, its in the options page.
but for mods on the game, like tau, harlequins, deamon hunters, thousand sons, and other really god community made mods, do a google search with dawn of war mods as your search key.
the sister of battle mod in the works is just amazing, and the dark eldar mod in the works is nice too.

Downloading the demo for this expansion now . I bought the original way back when it came out, and I played the Winter Assault demo when that came out, but I never really got back into it. Maybe this demo will get my attention again, although I think the Wii has taken over the gaming part of my mind :S .

I have to say the harlies are quite cool. Give them a once through the paint editor and you got yourself a very cool unit. I cant wait for this release. Its really ythe only video game I play with anything resembling frequency. its about time they added HW to IG. The demon prince leaves something to be desired. What is it he is always holding in his hand? is it his host body he is keeping, sucking the energy to keep him corporeal?

It's the artifact from the first game; they never made a "normal" model, so you're stuck with the storyline version.
