Yeah for Death Korps and Brass-etched goodies

www.forgeworld.co.uk/news151.htm

What do you guys think?  If I had a reason to I'd love to convert a squad of those Death Korps

Those Death corps models are hands down the best thing Forge World has ever done. Bravo. I'd actually be happy to pay their prices for them, which is a first. Hope they produce a full line of them, as the limited tallarn range was really disappointing.

Look, look, there are guardsmen with gasmask and they are running and stabbing and killing and burning and throwing and looking hardcore doing it!

Love'em! Only downside is that the torsi and legs are one piece. But still, I'm waiting for the rest of the line.

Nice Falcon,too...

Those Death Korps absolutely rock. I could actually play guard with those models. Well, maybe inducted guard. Very, very cool.

Winterman, the newsletter said they're doing a full army with cavalry and vehicles and everything.

Man I really dig the retro sci-fi touches with the ribbed, tubey lasgun design, crude instrumentation and fins on their helmets.

Beautiful, but you could make a servicable facsimile with some skills, tamiya bitz, Kroot rifle bitz, and green stuff, all of which I have none of.

The throwback lasguns are particularly nice touch.

Those are the best FW models and the best guardsman models ever produced. I think the fin on top of their helmet is from a WWI French Adrian helmet. So it looks, you know, more World-War-I-ey.

Especially because WWI was more the gasy war of the two... And the huge siege mortars support that theme.

Someone care to explain why they release a FW version of a GW plastic model kit? The FW Falcon will definitely be more expensive, why buy it at all?

The FW falcon is an upgrade kit that is stylistically different to the original design. Its more sleek looking and has an extended rear section. They've made it look more like the Scorpion heavy grav tanks. If you put the two models next to each other, GW and FW your see the difference. Whilst its not huge, I definately prefer the look of the FW one.

By the way does anyone have a link to the deathrider mock up? I cant find it on warseer.

Thanks all

Thats awesome, really amazing cavalry. Is that the "offical" FW mock up model? A unit of 5 of those.... man thats gonna be serious money. More than the knarloc riders or the Tallarn beasties I'd say as theres no point in a squad of 3 horses! I guess it would be somewhere in the region of 45 - 50 pounds sterling? The death Korp are amazing though. Truely fantastic models. I really want an army of those guys... but at over 60 pounds just for one troops choice... man thats serious money even for the most basic 500 - 1000 point army.

@Rebel_Princess, "gives me a Nazis-on-the-moon stiffee" is really troubling from someone who's screen-name is rebel_pincess and whose avatar is a teddy bear. Just an aside.

Cool models.

Damn, I wonder if it would be inappropriate to buy some zombie models to use as conscripts along side those Imperial Super Men... Ah hell, I've still got to buy some of those Cadian Sprues.

Hi Lormax

No problem, anytime. I agree that the changes are really subtle. Its a shame actually that they aren't more distinct.
With the new release of the updated Eldar Codex I had heard that Forgeworld were going to do a whole load of new eldar stuff.
I was excited to hear that they were upgrading the Falcon as I was never much of a fan of the original kit. However I was quite disapointed that it wasn't more different and remodelled.

I love the Scorpion design, and whilst the falcon upgrade pack is better than the older plastic kit I was a bit gutted.

I hear that they plan to release a resin Avatar, I so hope that is true. I'm really interested to see the new remodelled GW avatar as well, but they seem to be keeping that under tight wraps. I hope to god its a Jes Goodwin sculpt. I think that the wide majority of new models are fantastic, theres only veryt few that I've been disapointed with. On the whole I think the new Eldar stuff is amazing and I'm really excited about the army release. More than anything they will be really nice models to convert and paint. Painting and modellings always the most important thing for me, as I dont get the chance to play that many games these days.

Thats why even if I dont collect a complete Army I will definately buy at least one squad of DEath Korp of Kreig, just as they are excellent models to paint and convert.

Well, a unit of 5 Uhlahns in Warmachine is one hundred dollars, and they don't hold a candle to these new resin Death Korps troops.  Not to mention the fact that the FW resin will fit much nicer than the iffy metal of the aforementioned WM cavalry.  So I don't really mind shelling out $80-90 for a very nice looking unit.  It'll make a nice companion to my Elysian army.

I can't wait to see the command figs, just imagine a FW standard bearer for these guys charging forward.

So it looks like they are done with the Tyranid stuff for now.  Anyone know to the contrary?  This makes me sad, even though I don't play GW games any more.  Sniff sniff.
