A very impressive set of releases indeed. MM, WW, Hypolita and the new CoO Talons are just awesome, and Doctor Fate I think just needs a slightly less bright paintscheme to be equally great.

I think the problem with the horse neck is the way the head is bent. It looks like instead of tilting the chin down they raised the back of the head up, giving it that too long neck appearance.

Everything otherwise looks pretty sweet. I'm having a knee jerk reaction to not wanting the Amazons in BMMG though, same as the Lex crew in all the power armor. They just don't feel right to me for the setting. The wider DCU game sure, just not "Batman".

Remember they're a Legend pack, so not outside fun games

Dr. Fate is a weird one. I'll probably pick him up based on that terrific model alone, but I've never felt like the character has ever gotten his big break and I don't NEED him in the JL the way I need some of the others.

Not at all. Animated DC has often been the best DC.

Martian Manhunter - Essentially, the old Vision but on steroids. 15 points.

Doctor Fate - All the magical attacks. All of them.

The Amazons
DC Universe: Hippolyta, 12 points. Leadership type character. All Magical Attacks. Amazons, 7 points, broadly speaking 2 damage magical attacks with superjump, high attack stats and strength 3.
Batman: Hippolyta is a legend. The set of Hippolyta and 3 Amazons comes to 350 points.

I'll post Wonder Woman on horse, because she needs to be seen to be believed.

On a side note, I really hope Nightwing gets some DCU rules soon. Maybe with Raven?

Raven will be in Magic. Dark justice. Or whatever they decide to call it.
But yeah, the more crossover the better. Interesting we now have 2 versions of Deadshot. Time for some mathhammer!

I dunno if Nightwing will get any rules, or at least the 2 models we have.

Someone please correct me, but as far as I can tell, none of the "Arkham X" models have been given any rules yet for DC Universe, except maybe Ra's and Bane but even then, how close are they to comic depictions anyways.

Most things have either been a comics model, or a film model - Not even any of the TV models have yet.

I'm imagining this isn't a coincidence.


It'd be nice if they put the Suicide Squad cards in the Suicide Squad box. It might make the £90 box of 13 models more appealing...

This is another one of those confusing releases where everything totals up to an awkward number (53?). It seems really weird when you consider that they upped the power of 2 of the characters by 2 points each and could have easily designed them down to a size that supported playing them as a team. I... guess? adding the Joker gets you to 60, but likely we'll see rules soon for an 8 point Leto-Joker.

I think it's one of those things where they leave headroom for either personal flavour, or future characters. - Potentially right now, you could put the Killer Frost model in the squad to go up to 59 too.

Old thought, but the issue I've always had with the points is that you can always choose to add personal flavor regardless of what things cost, but what you can't often do is run the thematic team the way they set things up. Current model dragging out this frustration in me is Catwoman. If she was 5 points it would be a huge boon to the villain side in terms of filler options.

Sooo... many of us purchased or preordered items to get past knight models exclusives (red hood joker, etc). Then they release all the exclusives so anyone can get them, making them widely available to players (guess i shouldn'thave purchased one of the original 500 red hood jokers for $130, damn). Now they have exclusive minis again (Shazam guy, bat mite, monster t, etc...)

Make up your mind KM! Either have exclusives or don't!

Apologies for being vague! I just hope it's not broken...

Yup. Getting Grodd and Batman. Love the Rebirth style!

It's nice that they are bundling some of the Free Agents in BMG and giving them their DCUMG cards with the package, it's not so nice that they'll be bumped up to the new pricing scheme.

EDIT: Apparently I am wrong, the packs are actually LESS than buying them separately.

Yeah, Grodds set says resin. Gorilla shaman says plastic-resin.

Really nice set of models. Sadly, I've already got Green Arrow and Flash, but the Villain set looks good.

Weirdly, Hawkman and Killer Frost have different rules. I'm not sure if those are supposed to be errata or what. Killer Frost in particular is actually a different version of the character that she was in the rulebook.

The others appear the same at first glance, but its hard to tell.
