The basilisk looks like the mutated grandson of the infamous wereshark. I was thinking about starting skorne but if the basilisk is going to be a big part of the skorne line then I think I'll pass.

The fell caller. Uggh. Yet another model with a "dance-dance revolution" pose. A really nice scuplt ruined by a silly pose.

The gorax is kinda meh. The scuplt is nice but the overall concept is, well meh.

Everything else is good to awesome IMHO. I really like the seawitch but then again I'm one of the few people who like the satyxis models.

Nothing to do with being POed about being scooped. Happens all the time. Privateer Press allowed certain websites access to their FTP server and that has now been removed because, I am assuming, these images were leaked.

I'm not sure who did the leak but PP specifically asked people not to post them until they were given permission. Most people abided by that request but some appear not to and as a result it appears that *everyone* has now lost access to the images and the FTP server.

So what I am POed about is being penalised because someone couldn't keep their word to Privateer Press.  Or more to the point I am POed that someone didn't think of the ramifications of their actions and everyone else gets penalised because of it.

Well, wherever they were leaked from, the host site (http://www.malefic.jp) is Japanese, and a Japanese language-only site at that. Which brings up the possibility that something was lost in translation and/or this was but an innocent accident rather than someone knowingly leaking the images without PP's permission. That said, I can see why Pixelgeek would be pretty honked off about the leak, specifically the loss of access to PP's FTP server.

As to the figs, I like! Particularly the Sea Witch and that crazy Basilisk Drake. Kell's pretty kicking too.

Kell is very nice. He is definitely going into my Manus Loyalist force. The Drake I will refrain from commenting on until I see it but the Fell Caller and Krielstone unit are very nice as is the Lord of the Hunt.

And "honked off" does describe it quite nicely. I think I'm going to start using that :-)

I'll definately be getting the sea witch, very nice mini. And the hordes minis look like some of the best ones they've done for hordes so far.

Who is the Kell Bailoch figure?

I like the Sea Witch too. My gears 've been spinning lately contemplating an all pirate Skarre list (don't tell Khador, I swore they'd be my first!), and she's just another reason to do it.


The spawning vessel itself is sweet, but the tenders are kinda blah. The Lord of the Feast is a nice rendition of the artwork.
I like both of the troll releases too.

But the Forsaken is a bit pansy-ish. That is supposed to inspire terror?
Looks a bit like a 40k Vespid caught in the shower...

Don't let the Basilisk stop you from buying Skorne. You can have a perfectly horrible army with just cyclopi and titans.

I was afraid the Gorax was going to turn out as bad looking as its concept art. Too bad it is so useful in the list, otherwise I would not buy that thing. Now the Lord of the Feast is as great as it's concept. I hate the so hit or miss nature of the PP minis, but the majority of this release is pretty good.

And I was afraid the kriel stone bearers were going to look terrible. Turns out, not too shabby. The fell caller is not to my tastes, though.
I may just use the IKRPG troll fig instead. Kell is also cool. The Gorax is absolutely hilarious in a GW sort of way. I will not get him.

Too bad about the FTP stuff. TGN is a favorite site, and I hate to see 'em suffer. Having said that, I want Pyre trolls!

"I am the gorax, I eat for the trees." With a headswap the gorax would look almost identicle to the pewter rat ogres. With a rock.

Well it all looks ok except for the Gorax and bassie- they're both crap.

Some cool stuff, some meh stuff. Overall it pretty good. On a side note, after learning more about how the company is run, the people who work for PP, and the overall family attitude of the company I feel much better giving them my gaming dollar. Its a stark contrast to what GW has become as of late. I love GW, but as Mauleed and others have said befoe, supporting PP is the best thing you can do for GW.

Probably won't make that much of a difference in the long run. They changed their policy recently regarding posting images on websites so the lack of access isn't going to be that much of an imposition anyway.

I'm hoping to take a trip down to their offices this month and maybe I'll ditch my guide and go grab some "secret" pictures while I'm skulking around on my own :-)

That Basilisk...the horror. I hate it worse than the Gorax.
