Subject: What is the next major codex to be revisited?

I have read too many threads regarding the next race to have their rules and models redone. Will it be the Orks or a Space Marine chapter? Or will it be Chaos again?

Yes, DA. And by the rumors we have so far:
expect Plastic Drop Pods
Master of Ravenwing on a Jet Bike
Terminator sprues with 2 assault cannons
New terminator Librarian
That is all i can remember off of the top o fmy head for now, but it sounds pretty dang promising.

no drop pods afaik Oh really? I read that at warseer, but you never know where people come up with these rumors. But i must admit, plastic drop pods would deffinately be a smart move, those things would sell like hot cakes. Plastic Devs would deffinately be cool. And the new vindicator is long over due, the forgeworld version is awesome, but the old style vindicator is not quite so cool. New ravenwing box? Cool, i finally have an excuse to finish my ravenwing army =)

Does anyone have a date for Dark Angels? When we talk about heavy weapons are we talking about the concept sketches with shoulder and hip mounted heavy weapons? If so cool!
Also, are they revisiting Jet Bikes for Imperial forces?

I'd be surprised if the new devs hold their weapons differently. Although I love the sketches you're refering to, I think the current version of weapon holding is too deeply entrenched in the art. I really hope they do change them though because those sketches look great and we have many BL book references to those non-traditional weapon mounts. It also bears consideration that they changed the way the devs held their weapons in between 2nd and 3rd ed as well.
You guys forgot to mention that they'll be releasing a bunch of metal power armour librarians with the codex as well. And the rumours have pointed to a plastic sprue that allows you to jazz up your ravenwing bikes and land speeders with added plastic parts to upgrade the landspeeders to the cyclone and tornado varients!

Plastic drop pods is an old rumour. It hasnt been confirmed in any way, though there are a lot of rumours about drop pods, such as they are ready, but are awaiting a SM release to pop them on the public.
To be honest, I really wouldnt be suprised if they dont just pop the drop pods out on us during early next year. They are making so many other things, drop pods are a gauranteed seller. Much as rhinos were in third edition.
With the CAD tech theyre using nowadays, the drop pod shouldnt take too much effort to finish. Thats why I think it will be a release for DA. Postponing it is just a loss in revenue.

I do know one thing is that the Space Wolves will not be getting their codex redone any time soon even if they had the stores pull them from the selves. Well after the Eldar then one of the Angels (Blood or Dark) fallowed by either Orkz (likely) or Dark Eldar.

DE will be redone, but they're suppose to be farther off in the distance then the Orks.

This was posted on Warseer fairly recently. Apologies to the original poster...I can't remember who it was.
"As far as I am aware here is latest order for releases:-
WFB 7th Ed (Sep 06) WFB O&G (Sep/Oct 06) W40k Eldar (Nov/Dec 06) WFB Empire (Mar 07) W40k DA (May/Jun 07) WFB Campaign W40k Orks (Aug 07) WFB Campaign (Nagash - new minis for some races - inc CD Character (could be the 2 handed axe mini that was actually seen by one of my sources?)) LotR (as yet un-named) (Sep 07) WFB VC (Oct/Nov 07) W40k CSM (Dec 07/Jan 08) WFB HE (Mar 08) W40k Dark Eldar (Q3 08) or could be Blood Angels WFB Skaven (Q4 08) (could change places with DE) W40k Space Wolves (Q1 09) LotR (allegedly "the Hobbit"??) WFB DE (Q2 09) W40k ?/CSM (maybe chapter specific) W40k Campaign WFB Chaos Dwarfs (Q3 09) W40k ?/CSM (maybe chapter specific)"
Note that the schedule probably isn't set in stone too far in advance. I'm guessing this list is accurate through 2007...after that, who knows?

that is really interesting, i wonder how accurate it is? well, honestly no one can know, as the studios schedule can change.
That is great that they will revisit Dark Eldar, and Chaos Dwarfs are coming back! hell yeah!
I think after the Eldar, Orks will be the bigeest and most anticipated relase.
as for the plastic drop pods, the manager of the GE store near me told me that they would deffinately be made, but as to when, he could not say. Like Hellfury said, it is a garaunteed seller, to hold back would be plain dumb.
