Thought I'd bring some shots of Tannhäuser, and alternate history game, set in a world where WWI never ended...

Looks pretty sweet! Could prepainteds be the wave of the future?

Wow. There are certainly alot of companies jumping on the prepainted bandwagon

These look good though, they have a certain flair to them. The female demolitions spec. is especially choice.

They're alright.  I'm not digging them as much as some of the other pulp stuff, but I'm not really into pre-painted.  I don't know.  They just feel like baby action figures to me, which just doesn't really pique my interest any more.

Nice. Some of the best "Prepainteds" I've seen to date. The posing looks a lot more interesting and stylish than either the Mongoose or the Rackham offerings!

For all your bravado, if the US Army decided to invade, Wisconsin is it?, in force supported by a heavy bombing campaign for the month before, weeks of shelling from battleships on Lake Superior, and a full tank thrust (crushing the cows beneath the treads), I don't think that your .22 is going to make much of a difference really... I kinda like the idea of pulpy WWI over WWII, but yeah, prepainted ain't my thing.

Cool. I've been keeping my eye on these for awhile and it looks like it's shaping up nicely.

Description from BoardGameGeek:

1949, this incessant war has been raging for 35 years and finally a secret archeological dig has delivered to the Obscura Korps a long sought ancient relic. This artifact is thought to guard an ancient parcel of knowledge. The exact emplacement of one of the four dark cardinal cornere or reality is on the verge of being revealed.
Aportal leading to hell, this unsanctified zone is found buried within the secular crypt of a fortress situated in the heart of central Europe. The Reich's 13th Occult Division is there now. They are about to call upon the Cohorts of Chaos to help them force the world into eternal servitude.
Parachuted behind enemy lines, a fistful of men and women are all the Union has left to thwart this peculiar menace. The uUnions finest trained commandos armed with technology still in its experimental stages, the glory bound 42nd Alter-Marine Special Forces must now face the most terrible danger to face humanity in recorded history.

Tannhäuser goes beyond the standard package of set of characters, proposing a vast array of customization, allowing players to develop a unique tactic ans style of play for their hero. 10 charismatic personalites await them to be groomed for battle, using over 70 magnificently illustrated types of tokens that faithfully depict various weapons, medals, ranks, powers and equipment.

Here's the game components:

The concept seems a bit too esoteric to succeed on its own, unless there's a huge contingent of WWI/SciFi geeks hiding in Europe somewhere. But at 28mm, they might be able to do just fine selling to people who want the prepainted figs for other games. Those models just scream "Ordo Malleus retinue" to me.

It's worth pointing out that this is a BOARD GAME (sort of like Hybrid), not a traditional TTSG. I loved the idea when I read about it on TTGN about a month ago because it reminds me of old Heroquest! Especially the way the board expansions are described as coming out in 'supplements' with more models and tiles.

Somebody did those minis for a BOARD GAME? That's what I call dedication. Not to mention quality.

Really nice.
Too bad they are just a bit to realistic (compared to GW's exaggerated heads/hands etc.).
Might buy though.
Playing an Indiana Jonesish board game ought to be fun.

Agree on both counts, though at least with these I'd be willing to think about buying some prepainted stuff. Two questions:
  1. Are these plastic underneath the prepaint?
  2. How easy/hard is it to strip the prepaint off?
That said, pulpy WWI is quite neat, and I was actually thinking more along the lines of Disney's Atlantis - some nice character designs in there, you have to admit - over Indiana Jones ...

Oh! Just realized the Inquisitor gaming possibilities, and totally unrelated, but check this out from the PDF ad:

Tannhäuser evolves with each supplement proposing new characters and equipment for players' collections.
To come: the Russian Scientifika Police, the Iron Division, the Reich's 5th Paranormal Troopers, the Golden Globe social club, and the undead fantassins of the Company of Odin

O_O Sweet crap, I'll be watching this one!

The one problem I've always got with these minis is that their display minis are always impeccably painted and therefore look very good. The actual run of the mill painting quality is never as good.

And, being pre-painted, these are probaly once again soft plastic figures, sometimes leading to weirdly bent extremities and a 'hard to repaint in your won scheme mini or touch up' mini.

Meh, maybe I'm pessimistic but I think I'm only realistic....
