WARMACHINE: Prime Remix Special Edition Hardcover
PIP 1010 MSRP $39.99

We managed to make WARMACHINE: Prime Remix even better by publishing it in a beautiful hardcover edition. Carry your comprehensive rulebook in style!

Cygnar Rangers
PIP 31046 Unit Box of 6 Rangers, MSRP $29.99

Cunning and resourceful, Rangers are elite troops trained to blend into the terrain and mark enemy targets for Cygnaran gunners. Equipped with an array of signal gear and detailed maps, Rangers can blaze trails for friendly units and even bring them into the battle far behind the enemy’s lines.

Protectorate Daughters of the Flame
PIP 32046 Unit Box of 6 Daughters, MSRP $29.99

The Daughters are virtually all widows of fallen Menite soldiers. Possessing peerless grace, they become blurs of fluid motion in battle as they strike with synchronized precision. Their origins shrouded in mystery, the Daughters of the Flame have become a surgical tool for removing threats to the Protectorate both from within and without.

Khador Assault Kommandos
PIP 33046 Unit Box of 6 Kommandos, MSRP $29.99
PIP 33047 Blister of 2 Kommandos, MSRP $9.99

Armed with the most advanced weapons and equipment, Assault Kommandos are the finest light infantry the Motherland has to offer. These elite soldiers can ignore most of the hazards of modern war and blend canny marksmanship and determination with methodical ruthlessness.

Cryx Helldiver Bonejack
PIP 34049 Blister of 1 Helldiver & 1 Helldiver Marker, MSRP $11.99

After burrowing through the earth at frightening speeds, the Helldiver bonejack erupts from underfoot to shred every living thing within reach of its powerful jaws. The patient and methodical killer can wait in underground ambush for nearly indefinite periods, and Cryx has seeded many potential battlefields with scores of these black-iron monstrosities.

Trollblood Dire Troll Blitzer Heavy Warbeast
PIP 71008 Box of 1 Dire Troll Blitzer, MSRP $34.99

When the trollbloods mounted surplus rapid-fire cannons on their mammoth dire trolls, they effectively created walking siege engines. These mobile gun emplacements surge across the battlefield to crush and devour their opponents under a constant hail of fire. With a pyg ace working the cannon, the dire troll is free to run and fight while the shooting never stops.

Circle Orboros Druids of Orboros
PIP 72015 Unit Box of 6 Druids, MSRP $29.99

Younger initiates to the Circle, these Druids bring a mastery of elemental forces against their enemies. With a wave of their hands they can uproot and throw enormous rocks, wreath themselves in wind and mist to confound their foes, or disrupt and unravel the magic of enemy spellcasters.

Legion of Everblight Striders
PIP 73015 Unit Box of 6 Striders, MSRP $29.99

Striders serve as the Legion’s scouts and infiltrators. The blight transformed these former rangers into fleet hunters who navigate terrain with ease and twisted them into bitter, tainted killers who kill casually with a grim satisfaction. Striders keep to the shadows and trees to fall on fleeing enemies and mark the passage of the Legion with corpses.

Skorne Basilisk Krea Light Warbeast
PIP 74006 Blister of 1 Basilisk Krea, MSRP $14.99

For centuries the skorne used basilisk kreas only for breeding, but they have realized a potential for war inherent in the beasts. The krea’s ability to inhibit enemies and disrupt the connection between warlocks and warbeasts has proven invaluable when combined with its powerful jaws and the excited state it enters when fighting near a basilisk drake.

No Quarter Magazine Issue 10
PIP NQ10 1 Issue of No Quarter Magazine #10, MSRP $5.99

With bonding rules for warbeasts, the launch of the WARMACHINE league season, new druid classes, and a few surprises, issue 10 of No Quarter Magazine can’t miss.

Well, I guess I'll hold off buying Superiority.

Nice. I'm very, very happy about this. And just as happy about the Blitzer and the Khador Assault Kommandos!

damn, that is a good idea. I only played warmachine twice and couldnt get into, but you certainly cant deny these guys' enthusiasm and love for wargaming. Plus the armtwork in the books alone is enough to buy them, i love the anime /steam punk style.

I'll buy this one too... but some kind of kudo to B&W Prime owners would been cool.

They're not putting the armylists in the book. Just the units from prime. So Yair, if you want,
go ahead and buy Superiority for your Drakhun rules

This kind of ruleset was asked for constantly on the forums.

You should still buy Superiority for the units. Only the Prime units will be in this one.

Horrors! A game company that CHARGES you for an updated rules book!?! HOW DARE THEY! Seriously, this will have all the updated stuff from the last couple of years, plus they'll hopefully fix a few things that were broken before, unitwise.

People have been clamoring for a new Prime rulebook on the forums, and PP listened. They actually listened to their subscribers. Suck it, GW players.

It also bears mentioning that the production values of Privateer's latest books (Hordes, Superiority) are head, shoulders, and pretty much everything else above GW's crap.

No, GW just expects you to buy their POS magazine, then break out the good ol' scissors and glue stick to put in the "new rules".  Or they charge an exorbatant amount of money for incomplete and worthless rules.  How do you resolve ordinance attacks again?

Me, I'll happily buy my $25 complete rules for WARMACHINE.

I recall a post that there were stickers or something for GW Chapter Approved Codex material.

They used to release corrections in Chapter Approved for you to cut-and-paste yourself. Now they just expect you to ignore the problem.

Let the flame-war begin!

Malf: thanks for the clarification. I was wondering how they were going to cram ALL the unit info from 4 books into one. I may still pick up superiority, then.

Truth be told, you only need the main book for the rules (if that). The units' rules are printed ON THE CARD THAT COMES WITH THE FIGURE. I've been doing just fine on my old copy of Prime; I'm updating because there are some corrections to rules and to have the later books all in one place.

Yair: Things you'd be missing with just the cards would be

Trample
Two handed throw
Weapon Crews (they count as small bases)
Warjack Bonds
Cavalry Rules

Some other stuff.

Burned.

I've heard a lot of good things about Warmachine and Hordes, and I can definately believe that Privateer Press's publications are head and shoulders above most GW stuff.  However, that doesn't necessarily mean much in comparison.  Ordnance rules being a glaring example of this.

I appreciate a clear, concise ruleset that is easy to make sense of.

According to the thread in the PP forums, it seems like all the power attacks, unit attachment rules, and cav rules will be in the new Prime Remix. It would be your one stop for game rules. What won't be in there are rules for non-Prime units and the extra stuff like the campaign things (which is most of Apotheosis.) I'm not sure its clear that the bonding rules will be in there, that might be considered campaign rules.

But from Malfred's list:

Trample
Two handed throw
Weapon Crews (they count as small bases)
Warjack Bonds
Cavalry Rules

All of that stuff should be in there, with the possible exception of Warjack Bonds.

Ok guys... let's try and stay on topic here. GW vs. PP comments need not be posted in News and Rumours. Throw a thread up about it in Discussions, but don't thread jack here.

You can't compare them. They're different entities.

Warmachine: Prime Remixed would be more like releasing v4 bound with Codex Space Marines and the Wargear book.

Wow, people are actually going to try compare GW to this? Maybe if GW released a 4th edition book that had all codices and the main rulebook, including all FAQs, and sold it all for $40 (OK, fine, maybe $50...) there would be a comparison. However, realistically speaking, I bet it would only be 4th + Marines and you'd pay $60 for it since the marines are the super-secret bonus version. The one with the real-working drop pod rules!

So this will have all the rules ever made? I never got any WM rulebook and I'd prefer to have just one book for everything. I expect the old rulebooks to become super-cheap after this is released, so people who already have the rulebooks should sell them on ebay now.

This is a replacement for Prime.  It will include all the rules for the game and the stats for the models that were origonally listed in Prime.  If you want all the stats to all the models, you'll still need to pick up Escalation, Apotheosis, and Superiority.  You still don't, however, need to purchase these because the stats come on the cards that come with the models.

hmm. people still are confused about what prime will have.

It will have all of the mechanics of the books, but only the units originally in prime will be there. Which means you can buy the new prime:remixed book for the rules on how to use your stuff, but for the army lists you'll still need the other books.

Also, isn't the stickers in the Superiority book just on the page about khadoran battlegroups? I've noticed it there, but I haven't seen anything with stickers in the actual rules. Hell, I wish half of the things I've seen messed up in GW books got covered with stickers. Privateer Press has its faults, but its rulebooks definately aren't one of them.

The stickers ARE only on a background page in Superiority. Something about Khadoran
valor or stuff like that.

The nice thing about getting the rules is that it makes the cards more relevant. Right now,
if you buy the cavalry but not superiority, not every rule you need will be on those
cards (I think). Unless they are.

Ghaz the only place anyone has claimed PP is flawless is in your head.

PP's rules have their issues. What's the difference between PP and GW?

1) PP acknowledges their issues and fixes them in a timely fashion. They actually bother with errata - unlike GW, who have taken years to produce FAQs that don't even come close to addressing the huge number of issues their rules have.
2) For the most part, PPs issues are minor problems with wording, etc. They don't have fundamental, structural problems with their rules the way GW does. Furthermore, unlike GW you don't have a majority of choices for any given army being mostly useless. At this point Warmachine has more options for any faction than any 40k codex does; and yet you can probably count on one hand the number of things for each faction that aren't very useful. For GW it's the inverse.
