I may have to araldite it to the base lol. Not sure I trust poly cement to hold it down properly... I'll also be adding an injured marine to it, as I kinda have this image in my head of a dying tactical marine making his last stand against the enemy with his sidearm. Then suddenly the Knight comes stomping overhead, laying down a volley of fire with his Avenger gatling cannon and heavy stubber.

Did a little on the Lord Relictor last night. Mainly layering up his armour and some of the smaller details. Wondering if I should just leave his parchment cloak off and leave him as is? He's quite a busy model as it is, so I don't think it'd hurt to leave it off. Apologies in advance for the photo quality, it was quite late! ie this bit(not my pic): Here's the Lord Relictor so far(can zoom in on the Gallery if you click the photo):

I am considering the very same thing, the sculpted armour on the back of the model is really well done as well. Thing is it almost dry fits so you could probably paint it up separately and just attach it temporarily if the whim takes you.
He looks nearly done to me, keep it up.

Not much to look at tbh, it's basically a Retributor suit of armour with bling on.

That's cool. Well it looks fine from the front and I sure it'll look fine from the back too. Cloaks always work well to set aside character models however, which might be crucial in the wider Stormcast army. Still with his skull helm and banner he has enough to set him apart already.

Hello, all. Been quiet for a bit on here, and sadly not much in the way of painting/gaming has been getting done :(. There has however been the odd purchase for the grey pile of shame now and again.
This has been mainly due to real life stuff (I won't bore you with the details) and PC gaming. I've decided to revisit the Forgotten Realms and enter the world of Faerun, to face the evils of the Bhaalspawn, Sarevok. Been playing as a fire-breathing, spellcasting badass, a Dragon Disciple sorcerer.
Now, on to the supply drop. Today's loot includes a sweet, sweet eBay deal in the form of the now OOP Dreadfire Portal and Eternal Stairway. Both of which will fit rather nicely into the Age of Sigmar with their markings of the various realms. scattered about. Scored a pretty fantastic deal- £15 and still in the box. Shrink wrap and all .
ie these:
Second of all is the awesome new Shattered Dominion bases.
25mm bases
32mm bases
40mm bases
65mm bases

That is a pretty good deal on the terrain, I was recently shocked by the OOP prices on ebay of some of the fantasy terrain such as the fortified manor and the like.
The bases look pretty good, they look a bit more defined than the recent Sector Imperialis bases. I can see a lot of people using these for Silver Tower as well. Did you see last weeks White Dwarf with the various basing paint schemes?

Did you see last week's White Dwarf with the various basing paint schemes? I did. Which was part of the reason why I caved and bought them, haha. I noticed the better definition on these as well, but I imagine rocks and carved stone are a wee bit easier to cast than the sci-fi industrial stuff? I dunno. I think I'll be using them largely for Silver Tower, as it does fit rather nicely with the themes on the board. I'm definitely using some of the shrooms on the Ogroid's base. I won the Portal/Stairway kit on an auction which was about to finish. I don't think my rival bidder expected anyone to snap it up, as there's quite a few on eBay right now. I hate that people think they can jack the price up to absurd levels just because it's OOP. It was worth x when it was available and it's still worth that now. Fortified Manor is a pretty huge kit from the look of things.

Had a quick dabble with my new scenery gubbins, and built the stairway. Just got the gargoyles to add to it now and needs basing. Hated the central column when I was building it though. I had to grip it pretty tight for about 10mins to keep the gaps to a minimum, and ended up with the runes of the mortal realms etc pressed into my hand, lol.

Welcome back, all. In the words of one Wade Wilson, "Maximum Effort!". I WILL FINISH THIS BUGGER . Even if it kills me lol. More work on the armour panels, building up the layers of Ushabti Bone. Still not sure where to go with his big ol' reaper chainsword. Suggestions welcome. I think I may leave the feet as metal. I imagine the paintwork wouldn't last long down there anyways. A ways to go yet, but he's getting there, I think.

The knight is looking good, cool scheme. I think for the Chainsword you might want something quite high-contrast just to help it stand out. Black and yellow stripes would do it, but even solid red would work nicely with the rest of the colours.
If you go that route, I'd mirror it on the cannon's shielding as well, just to balance the mini.

The blogs have been pretty quiet of late AOV...I guess a combination of a lot of Europe being on the summer holidays and the hotter weather in the States etc?
I always kept the feet as metal on my Knights, nobody really looks at them and they will probably be surrounded by basing materials anyway. As for the reaper I think a bone/green/bone over the three armour plates would look pretty cool. Put some of the Knight decals over the top as either honour badges or kill marking and job done.

I think leave the feet as metal,
Agree with para on the chainsword - I'm a big fan of hazard stripes on chain weapons so id go with that otherwise mirror the bone from the gun shield.

This quiet around here these days eh, except for the DW thread where loadout quibbles have taken over. You seem to be the voice of reason over there at the mo!!!!
Knight is looking tidy. For the chainsword I'd paint it in the green with on or two 3mm diagonal stripes in the bone colour about halfway along the blade. Think the bone could use a little recess shading maybe too. Feather out a bit of ye olde agrax earth shade should do the trick nicely.

Funny you should mention that, as I was cracking on with the earthshading shortly after the pic was taken The silver trim needs sorting too as I've splurged a bit of Ushabti bone and Warpstone Glow on it by accident. I think for my next Knight (I got Knight Renegade a while ago), I'll be doing a Jon Snow style paint scheme(Night's Watch), so black plates and silver/grey trim and then this for his head, so that I may paint it white a la Longclaw/Ghost. Not a cheap bit by any means, but it'll look fething amazing. Not sure if I'd go with the "White Wolf", or just the "Bastard of Winterfell" I've decided I should just say "Oooh! Pretty!" or words to that effect, in the N&R threads and leave it at that. Seems you can't discuss N&R without people being silly.

Hello again, all.
Just a quick update today, for the Lord Relictor. Nearly there, not quite sure what to do with the reliquary skeleton's sword. Do I make it glowing, or just a blue glaze? Hmm... Maybe do his eyes with a glow, perhaps. What do we think folks?
I've also been cracking on with Lord Stark. My god, this thing has sooo much to go at. Why did I buy 2 again?
Got a couple of pics of the former, but not managed any for the latter. So without further ado, onto the photos! Spoilered for convenience, as usual.

It's looking great AoV! I would personally just make the sword old and rusty - but out of your options I would choose a blue glaze - I think a glowing sword up high might draw attention away from the rest of the model.

Back from a brief hobby hiatus with a supply drop... more adversaries for Silver Tower. Starting with the rather bitey Screamers of Tzeentch.
These nasty little critters are pretty deadly in WHQ: ST. Their lamprey bite is nasty if they get 6s to hit. Deals 3 wounds instead of one!
Next we have the Flamers of Tzeentch, whose flamer attacks can jump from hero to hero! Ouch!
Painting will resume shortly...
