Heavy Servitors Basically giant cyborgs (ogryns or vat-grown artifical life) with weapons wired to them. Heavy support choice for IG, Inq or Lost and Damned. I might require a tech priest in IG forces to take them but probably not since the other armies have nothing similar. WS4, BS3, S5, T4, W3, I3, A2, Ld10, Sv 4+ Base 35 points/model Squad of 3-5 Heavy Servitors. Must be armed with either powerfist and heavy weapon or 2 heavy weapons. Costs as listed, second number is twin-linked. May move and fire heavy weapons. Power Fist 30 Assault Cannon 40 (60) Heavy Bolter 15 (23) Lascannon 30 (45) Missile Launcher 25 (38) Multimelta 25 (28) Plasma Cannon 30 (45) Thoughts? Comments?

Must be armed with either powerfist and heavy weapon or 2 heavy weapons
I'd put a comma after "power fist and heavy weapon, ", so it'd read:
Must be armed with either powerfist and heavy weapon, or 2 heavy weapons
That way, it can't be misread as possibly a power fist and 2 heavy weapons.

Forget Heavy Servitors, bring back Robots! I was able to resurect the old Robot rules and modify them for 3th ed. It would be possible to do the same for 4th. Of course I have to FIND the rules. They were posted on old-old Dakka and three computers ago for me.

Robots, pah.
This is the Imperium, Imperial design says why bother having someone pick up a shovel when you can lop his arm off and graft on a cyber shovel! You think these people are going to build robots when people are so darn cheap?

There's plenty of very old Robot fluff. When I was doing stuff for the Codex: Adeptus Mechanicus, which became lost in the void, there was a Servitor construction option, similar to the way Gaunts work in Tyranid. A Servitor could be configured up to 3+SV, two small guns up to storm bolters, one large gun, or two close combat weapons, with the two powerfist option having a rule similar to the two DCCW dreadnaughts. Of course, fully tooled for combat, they got very expensive, also like Gaunts. The difference being that they could fill almost any combt role. To stop them doing stupid things, they needed a Tech Priest Enginseer.

I think you might need to add something like Feel No Pain, or Immune to Instant Death. Otherwise, a PF sarge with ablative wounds will beat the crap out of them with Str8 (MEQ) instakill, or, in a worse situation, they'll get hammered with loads of HB fire (only need six hits to kill a Heavy Serv.) or ML and Lascannon. Otherwise, they're pretty bestial. I like. CK

If they are Servitors then a bionic invulnerable 5+ save would work, at a price.

The fact that infantry can be killed by anti-tank weapons seems fine to me. Changing the 4+ save to 5+ invulnerable (and a slightly higher price) would be OK with me but I'd like to hear more opinions about whether or not it's needed. I've never played nids or even used Ogryns much so I admit I don't know how much of a drawback T4 really is.

You could try a different tack and give them one wound, a 5+ invulnerable save AND the 'shooting off bits 'rule used for the Penitent Engine. Instead of taking wounds, they lose weapons and/or attacks, but can still be Instant Death-ed. When I responded the first time, I missed the 3 wounds bit.

Maybe if they were immune to Instant Death, and had a 5+ Inv.
Or maybe not. I just feel as though an opponent with a PF Sarge could lay waste to a squad of these guys (He and his squad would die, but it just would suck to lose 100+ points of models to some punk with a PF and ablative wounds).

About the weaponry... I'd suggest leaving out the asscans. Even at 40 points a pop, a unit with 4 twin-linked asscans would be hideous. They'd either hide behind terrain or a vehicle turn one, then out they come turn two and.. oy. Admittedly, it's 380pts for the unit but still... oy....

On invulnerable save, how about adding the option of a 1-handed storm sheild for 10 points? Other hand can be a powerfist or heavy weapon. As for the asscan, Max I think you answer your own question, 380 points, 50% more than a landraider. And vulnerable to S8 instant kills. And only a 24" range. So I see enough of a downside. Besides, I'm building one now so I have a vested interest

-I'd add the option of reaper (twin linked) autocannon. That seems appropriate for a large gun servitor.
Does this unit have transport options? Mayhaps akin to ogryn (takes up two spots in a chimera or rhino).

How about giving them a Choppa as an option? That would be a bit more reasonable than a powerfist, which makes them lousy terminator knockoffs.

I actually planned to make them non-transportable, I would imagine all the wires and ammo feeds and such make them unsuitable for an APC. Besides as a balance issue I think a transport would make them too powerful since you can drive them up, have them pop out and move and fire heavy weapons into a target.
Of course it might not be too bad, we've already covered the downsides of this unit and a transport is a risk these days.
I think adding autocannons and heavy flamers to the list would be fine.

You might have an issue with mobility. Mayhaps: servitors may: *move and fire 6in *move 12in (aka a small vehicle).
They might have an additional cost for a mobility option.
