"The last known instance of common sense happened at a GT. A player tried to use the 'common sense' argument vs. Mauleed to justify his turbo-boosted bikes getting a saving throw vs. Psycannons. The player's resulting psychic death scream erased common sense from the minds of 40k players everywhere. " - Ozymandias

Even better. Thanks Chris.

What a distinct lack of AP 2 or even 3. I question the usefulness of a round that always wounds on a 2+ when the model is going to get a 3+ or even 2+ saving throw anyway. Don't we already have guns that no one takes because they have one shot that wounds on a 2+ but don't have low AP? Oh yeah--Sniper Rifles.

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

Rules for the Stalker rounds say it's Heavy 2, but the profile says its Heavy 1. Well done GW.

And they're still over-priced. 30 points for a Veteran and then you have to buy really expensive weapons? 60 points for a W1 Marine with Lightning Claws?

Troll country

Deathwatch Marines are a unit that require a skilled player to be able to properly take advantage of what they have to offer.

And yeah Big Chris all bolter rounds should be AP3.

generic marines are underpriced already. I begrudge you your complaining about 1 overpriced unit, when other codicies are full of them.

Do not use the CLEAR dice!

Dear Whiny Space Marine Players,
you get 3+ armor saves on all your troops (save scouts), Assault cannons, a huge assortment of vehicles and weapons, arguably one of the best if not THE best tank in the game, funny helmets, and a partrige in a pear tree.

suck it up, space marines. You're the emperor's chosen superhuman warriors. stop whining like a guardsmen and take it like a superman!

A vanilla marine Vet. Sgt w/lightning claws costs exactly the same. 15marine + 15 for Vet +30 for Claw(S).

Now paying 5 extra points for only allowing extra weapon options (that you pay for), should be the debate.

Actually the stalker rounds dont have a profile. Youre reading the profile above the m.40 targeter.

The deathwatch rules are stupic anyways. SM vets with traits are far better at their job than these are. I used to have these for my kill team, until the sm codex came out then I switched to vets as they are far more effective.

Deathwatch rules are neat, but ultimatly slowed.

the m 40 targeter? Oooh! I get to make my bolter heavy 2 and it pins! I also get to pay 10 more points for the privilege! [orgasm] yeah but no thanks.

in short, none of the presented options are worth anything, other than space marine guilt for fielding space marines in the first place, so you handicap yourself by using this unit.

Good thing they made Deathwatch 0-1, or I would be tempted to field a whole army of crap!

An IG army could get a drop podding Fear of Darkness librarian with a psychic hood, complete with a unit that can fight in hth. But why would they want that?

Meh, why would the IG player want the above unit? All he sees at tournies are other marine players who it would be worthless against, right? Guys? *Crickets*

I"ve used this unit in the past with my IG army. They have a nasty CC librarian, powerfists or lightning claws, plus move and shoot heavy bolters and kracken rounds. Sure, they cost as much as a tank or two, depending on how you equip them, but they attract lots of fire away from my fragile guardsmen and can roll with all those deepstriking assault and terminator squads that like to beam on on the flank.

As a bonus, kracken rounds make the tau cry, which makes up for the problems my IG tend to have with markerlights + stealth suits.

And they say the Imperium's Space Marines hate mutants!

Look at the heavy bolter marine in the second picture - two heads - two heavy bolters! It's a clever trick!
(or a cruddy photoshop job...)

See - The Imperials actively support using mutants!!!

Heresy, I tell you!!!

Or essentially taking a librarian Command Squad that doesn't need a Drop Pod to Deepstrike, has two Assault Three Heavy Bolters, can have all their bolters re-roll to wound, True Grit, Frag and Melta Bombs....

Yeah, they aren't over priced.

Putting a DW Capt on a bike with the m40 with stalker ammo turning him into a mobil sniper platform sounds like fun to me, but hey I play with 3 whirlwinds with mines in my SM army

A storm bolter that causes pinning?  Hardly that intimidating.

1.67 pinning tests per game against MEQs, assuming you get to fire every turn and not use turbo-boost in turn 6 to take an objective?  Might sound like fun, but it's not going to do anything.

Meh. Being a Space Marine player, I'll probably make a squad and run them as a normal Tactical Squad with True Grit. All the character of a Deathwatch attachment with none of the overhead.
