At Sci-Fi City at 10:00 a.m. is the first Adeptus Orlandicus Gladiator Tournament!
The event is a 2000 point Tournament where Comp doesn't matter.Any legally printed rule is in effect, even the "opponents consent" and optional ones which includes anything by ForgeWorld (though you must have th actual ForgeWorld model or a complete scratch build, no toys). Super Heavies are allowed, they just take 2 HS choices.
The schedule for the tournament is as follows:
Check In: 10:00 - 10:30am
Game 1: 10:30 - 12:30
Lunch Break: 12:30 - 1:00
Game 2: 1:00 - 3:00
Game 3: 3:15 - 5:15
Break: 5:15 - 5:30
Game 4: 5:30 - 7:30
Awards: 7:45 - 8:00
Since there are 4 games and the schedule is tight, it is imperative that we all be puctual and always be vigilant of the time. Please be there on time to check in. Dice WILL start rolling at 10:30am. To speed the process along, try to have your lists printed out on Army Builder or some other form of typed list and turn it in to either Myself or CaptK. Make sure to include your name and army on it. The table scenery will be preset before players arrive so when table assignments are given players can start right away.
In addition to the schedule, I wanted to remind people of the
negative point modifiers you will be facing.
-2 for each round you play if your army is not painted
-1 for each round you play if your army is painted but not based
-1 for every 5 minutes you are late, i.e. every 5 minutes after 10:30
If you miss the first game, you are disqualified to recieve any
prizes (because of the huge negative in Battle Points). You may
still play in the subsequent rounds.
Painting applies to your entire army. In order to not recieve any
negative modifiers, your entire army must be painted and based.
There are no penalties for having you figures painted different
colors, but we would like you to repect WYSIWYG.
Now that the negative stuff is out of the way, you can see all the
lovely Forgeworld Prizes at Sci-Fi right now in the glass case next
to the Games Workshop Product. Gale Force 9 has already shipped the
custom etched plaques and they should be arriving today.
Here are the prizes:
First Place
A Forgewolrd Vulture Gunship and a custom Plaque
Second Place:
A Forgeworld Black Legion Chaos Dread. with Lascannon and DCCW Arms
and a custom Plaque
Third Place:
Loyalist Space Marine Rhino Extra Armor and a custom plaque
Victory will be decided strictly on Battle Points. For Example, a
Win is 5 points, a draw is 3 points and a loss is 1 point, plus any
points gained by meeting the objective which range from 10 to 3
additional points. And of coarse add in any negative modifiers from
above.
If anyone has any questions before now and Saturday... now is the time to ask. I look forward to seeing everyone there to support the clubs first uber tournament.
