The Death Korps March On
<lb:description>We`ve been getting a lot of requests for news and schedules for what else we`ll be doing for the Death Korps, and there are a lot of rumours running round about them. So in order to answer those questions here are a few things we can tell you about the forthcoming models in range. Firstly, we will be doing at least a further two Death Korps infantry squad packs in addition the current ‘Death Korps Advancing’ squad. On their way to production there are also special weapons models, conversion kits to modify and enhance your Death Korps vehicles, command and command HQ squads as well as the Grenadiers (Death Korps Storm Troopers) including the Heavy Flamer team showcased as a work in progress at Games Day UK, and of course the much anticipated Death Riders. All of these will make an appearance in the near future.</lb:description>

This is far from all we will be doing for the Death Korps range in the future; other plans are afoot we`re very excited about, and indeed our designers are working feverishly on a host of new Death Korps related projects, from towed artillery pieces to an all new small tracked carrier we`re calling the Centaur, which will see service in several different battlefield roles. In short we are expanding our Death Korps range to create a ‘full scale’ and highly unique army for Warhammer 40K with a diversity of troops and options for you choose from, and the Krieg themselves will be fully detailed in the next two Imperial Armour books.

If they start making Death Korps in metal I'll buy them. The idea of resin bayonets in carry cases makes me cringe.

Yeah no way those would last more than five minutes of play. Even the resin gun barrels, especially on the flamer, look fragile. Great designs though.

I got their Cadian special weapon troops. Those are quite hardy although the 'plumbing' is somewhat fragile but should hold up ok.

Can anyone with the Drop Troops figs comment on barrel strength?

Do... do I really owe Forgeworld one hundred and fifty five dollars for reading that?
Normally I would dismiss the dollar sign as a typo, but this is Forgeworld we're dealing with.

Edit: Well now I see a number sign instead of a dollar sign, which really ruins the joke entirely. Too bad. Trust me, it was the funniest thing ever, much funnier than anything you would have ever came up with. Ever. Yah, I went there, loser.

I've got some of the Death Korg Lascannon teams. They're definitely fragile. I'm wincing at handling the rebreather tubes and entrenching tools. I don't think I could put the bayonets on for the above reasons when my squads show up. Way fragile.

But great news none the less!

Between Iraq and a hard place

I haven't had any issues with the barrels on the Elysians las-carbines, at least as far as handling and transporting go, and they've been shipped to Iraq and back.  They haven't been exposed to a lot of gaming yet, but I imagine they'll be fine, even the sniper rifles.  They should be getting the full test on the 11th during the tournament at Empire Games.

Saw the picture and download of the Gorgon. It states it can carry 50 troops. Can it carry 5-10 man storm trooper squads or is it dedicated transport for IG platoon? Does anyone know the breakdown?

It would seem a waste if it could only carry one squad rather than a strike force type unit.

Yeah, they can carry Stormtroopers.  There is a link to the Experimental rules on it and it tells you exactly what it can carry there

I know it can carry A squad of stormtroopers. Can it carry multiple squads of stormtroopers? There are very few units in the Imperial forces that go higher than 10 man squads, thats why I'm asking?

Again, the troop capacity is 50 men, so it must be able to carry multiple squads, and as such there's no reason to suspect it's limited to only one storm trooper squad. So load 'er up with five squads of elite infantry and go nuts. Personally I'd go for command squads and vetran squads to max out the number of special weapons (in other words- plasma) that pop out.
