Thanks youwashock!

tzurk wrote:Always really impressed with your colour schemes all round Viterbi, from the sisters to the Voidsmen (which are really beautiful minis!) to Cassian's pants/jacket and the red/pink spot on Gandalf (who looks brilliant on a square base!). You have a great eye for what works together.

The understated basing is nice too, and I'm impressed with your mix of styles there.

Glad to see you got a game in, too. Lovely to see well painted minis on well painted terrain. Pity about the engine - it is the way of the universe!

Thanks tzurk! Understated basing is out of laziness, it's so easy with texture paint, wash and drybrush The engine will return and hopefully take vengeance!

zahnib wrote:Those Sacresants look great! Also love seeing all the battle shots Good work Viterbi

Thanks zahnib!

Again not much going on, the problem is I don't need any minis really urgent right now, so stuff just lingers. So I'm gonna try and do the old trick of painting everything a bit until suddenly stuff is done:

Grots are for Stargrave as the free soldiers when you're out of credits. And trying to push through with the Dominion conversions for my sisters and the 5 Seraphim. They have been sitting or better lying there for a while now.
And the Cursed City baddies will get the Contrast treatment, they seem to be designed for it.

Took also stock of everything I have painted so far for my sisters army:

And finally got the codex in hand and love the crusade rules, where you can set a character from your army on the way to become a living saint. Which fit perfectly with the new Dominion AoS box set, because the Spear of Sigmar looks a lot like Saint Sabbat and with minimal conversion work I can now paint my living saint:

Last but not least I did the Red Skull from Marvel Crisis Protocol. OSL could be a lot softer, but overall I'm happy with the result:

The Sisters army is looking great. The basing and color scheme really tie together the wide variety of models into a coherent force.

I really love army shots and yours looks great Viterbi. That OSL glow on the Red Skull is very well done as is the rest of the model. Have you had a chance to play the Marvel game? I love the idea of super heroes bashing it out with villains.

I totally hear that with progress slowing when you don't have an urgent need to get something done. Having a game approaching is the best incentive. Looks like you are getting a lot done to me. Your Sisters of Battle are looking good.

Thanks Captain Brown! Trying to concentrate on them, although at the moment my friend and I are still at the 25 PL stage of our Crusade campaing.

Thanks youwashock! Herr Schmidt was luckily really easy to paint, but I need to get on with my other MCP, maybe this will be the game to get my wife to play seeing how much she likes the MCU

Thanks Yorkright! Did not play MCP just yet, I am looking into getting some terrain atm, love the official apartment building (I really don't have the motivation for scratchbuilding), but it's quite pricey.

zahnib wrote:I totally agree with The Riddle of Steel, your basing really ties the army together nicely. And your Saint Sabbat conversion looks great! Perfect base model for it

Thanks zahnib! Looking at the first picture of the Stormcast lady it was quite clear, that this will be an easy conversion

gobert wrote:It’s always great to see a fully painted army, the sisters look resplendent! Can’t wait to see your very own saint join the fray.

Thanks gobert! Will be some time before the saint will come marching in (scnr), gonna paint her when I'm fully motivated, she deserves it.

Thanks Syro_! I still get "enough" painted, but in 2019 and 2020 I painted a combined 300 minis, so it seems like a step back, but really isn't

Thanks aku-chan! I dread painting the wings, but am excited too about painting her one day.

DJJazzyJeff wrote:Great bases. Nice conversion. All the same that everyone said, just more of it.

Thanks DJJazzyJeff!

I haven't been completely idle (but only just) and finished to mighty grots for the now nearly month old challenge:

Painted them up to kind of match my Imperial colors, gonna use them with the Starstriders in Stargrave, they will be used as the free soldiers, if you don't have the credits to buy the real ones

And as you probably know, I mostly play Mordheim with three friends and was looking into a new warband. I have mercenaries and witch hunters, my lovely halfling warband, but wanted a new one. I always liked Sisters of Sigmar, but don't like the old minis that much and getting enough of them costs like an arm or the second-born child.
Luckily I found the Sisters of Serens from a supplier from Spain. Metal miniatures (wouldn't have bought them, if they were resin) that look really great and came superbly packaged:

Unfortunately I was not able to glue the first weapons on properly and now some sisters have mutant hands (clearly fighting of the evil influences of Mordheim and proving their faith by not succumbing to the mutations ).

I've only been able to paint four heroines for the first game and haven't painted anything since then, but may start again today, finish the last heroine and start on the henchwomen. Next game will be in three weeks and I want all 17 ladies be done til then.

As you can see, the color scheme is the same as with my Sisters of Battle and I like to think both orders are linked through warp and time.

The halfling mercenary should give some long range support.

The first match of Matriarch vs. Vampire didn't go well for the lady with the hammers. Maybe she has more luck next time.

Good to see you back Viterbi. The Sigmar Sisters look cool in your colours, even if the fresh paint on some of them cost them a victory. Maybe the next batch of painted sisters will have better luck!

Nice sisters models. It's not chaos influence , it's a holy stigmata showing their purity . I guess we will find out when the dice get rolled in the first game which is which.

inmygravenimage wrote:Great to see you back in action. Sisters are cool but GO HALFLINGS!

Thanks Graven! I've saved my Halfling warband (which leveled really nice) and it was a change of pace starting with Sisters, seeing how they have practically no ranged weapons.

gobert wrote:Good to see you back Viterbi. The Sigmar Sisters look cool in your colours, even if the fresh paint on some of them cost them a victory. Maybe the next batch of painted sisters will have better luck!

Thanks gobert! They've been through some more games and some have not died, but they always get injured

Thanks Theo! Sigmar himself is quite undecided of their holiness, judging by the last games

zahnib wrote:Good to see you back Vitrebi. Those old grot models are great, they've really stood the test of time. And cool to see your proxy SoS in the same colours as your SoB.

Thanks zahnib! I love those grot minis, they are really characterful. And using the SoB colors seems like a no-brainer in hindsight.

I still have not painted much more, but managed to finish my entry for the Halloween painting contest, this lovely Cosplayer:

He was quite fun and fast to paint, Contrast works well on those MCP minis. I already have Spider-Man on my desk, but realized I don't have red color Contrast. But he has already gotten his blue and I managed to stay in the lines

On the Sisters front a bit has happened. I managed to finish the last of the heroines some time ago. It's a fun looking mini and she now has leveled enough to give her hammers, even if this means there is no more WYSIWYG:

Also managed the first three henchsisters:

Now it's on to the next five, I need them finished til Saturday for our next game:

One of the slingshot novices was the heroine in the last games. She bravely went to an opening in the church wall, managed to kill an enemy hero (needed a 6 to hit) and then survived the onslaught of three enemy heroes in the next round. After that her Sisters arrived and mopped up the unlucky enemies.

And I painted up the miniature my friend uses as a witch mercenary. Didn't feel the sculpt, but overall I'm happy with her:

And last but not least something completely different. One of my projects for 2022 is the Quest of the Ringbearer campaign book and I managed to get the fish-eating Gollum of ebay and started brushing some base color on:

That's all for now and let's see if I will manage to post more regular in the near future

Thanks aku-chan!

My goal of doing all seven Sisters of Sigmar for tonight didn't go as planned, but I managed at least to finish three. I made some more pics so you can see how these finished minis developed:

Including a photobombing

And done. Not happy with their faces, but they'll do at arm's length:

And another 99% Contrast paintjob, Black Widow joins the finished MCP minis. Not my best work, but one step closer to get all the Core box minis done.
