I just got a GW Imperial Sanctum for my rolling temple project (temporarily on hold since GW sent me 2 left halves a land raider and no right one). I was surprised to discover how well they fit with the Pegasus stuff. It looks like they can be stacked on top of each other with no problem. 2 GW wall units=1 pegasus. Someone asked a while back how much you get from a pegasus set vs GW so I did this comparison The dark grey building is from 1 pegasus box, the light grey from 1 GW box. Granted I left out the ruined bitz, so if you count them you're getting twice as much as I show. Also shown are 2 gargoyles from Target, $2 each. And lastly some terrain made from 1" wood cubes from Michaels craft shop, $3 for a bag.

A couple of red x's. Great looking terrain. I should be getting two boxes of the pegasus buildings today in the mail. ender502

The two go together very well. GW has more details but the Pegasus is more bang for the buck. I've gone threw 5 sets of it for my city fight table and mixed in 3 sets of GW. Thomas

Image is here: http://ct.pbase.com/g6/14/562714/2/69135963.plndQbBy.jpg I may start adding some CoD stuff to my projects. I've gone through 3 kits so far and may need 2 more. I'm still irked by the number of ruined bits in the GW kit though. Wynn do you have any pictures of your terrain?

The dark grey building is from 1 pegasus box, the light grey from 1 GW box. Granted I left out the ruined bitz, so if you count them you're getting twice as much as I show. To be fair to GW, the sanctum imperialus building is the one with the fewest wall segments thanks to the decision to place that huge eagle door on the sprue. If you used the bacilica sprue, i think you would get more usable panels. you have definately confirmed my desire to buy a few pegasus kits though...

A quick update.. I bought a box of platformer stuff a while back. No big deal. A nice product. I just saw boxes of platformer, hexagonner and syberclicks at my local hobby store and they had the Imex AND Pegasus Hobby label on them. Odd. I will be buying a box of the Syberclicks and seeing how well that combines with the Pegasus building. ender502

Let me know what you think of Syberclicks, I have the chemical plant and platformer and was less than impressed, they seem overly complicated to assemble. Nice for bitz though.

This is what I got out of 3 boxes of the pegasus terrain. I picked up 2 more to mix with the GW stuff. The plan is to have a 4" x 8" city fight table with extra parts to change out. Buildings are on 12" x 12" and streets will be 6"x12". He are some of the buildings in progress. The dome will be damaged and metal in color once painted. The church came out so well that I'm going to make a bigger one with a mix of pegasus and gw. This one is going to used on my "green" table. Thomas

Pricing is about the same. I get a box of Pegasus for $22 + shipping. I think it's close to twice as many parts then a GW box. I have both at home, I'll do a count tonight.

Wynn- 2 Questions... 1. Where did you get the Pegasus box for $22? 2. How did you do your "ruining" of the walls. Looks nice and rough. A jig saw or small hand saw perhaps? ender502

Pegasus Hobbies main page, but for the life of me I can't find a link to that specific plastic kit. However, Conquest Miniatures has them listed, but at $30 for a box. I do recommend Pegaus's other terrain peices, they're very well done and come pre-painted to a table top standard. I have the delux ruined church and it's awesome.

I just got my third set, and am working on a full 6x4 table's worth of buildings/ruins. I may have to go for the COD stuff to mix in.
I also have some of the platformer stuff, and while I've seen some great stuff done with it, I do agree that it's a bit overly complicated.
Just ordered the pegasus technobridge. We'll see what happens.

For my "ruin damage" I use a pair of bolt cutters to make rough cuts then hit it with a dremel with a cutting wheel. I have been getting the pegasus stuff from ebay - there is a seller who has all the kits for a good price. You need to buy more then one to get the best deal because of the shipping savings. He has an ebay store with "by it now". dicehead is his user name

nyarlathotep667,
the Pegasus hobbies that make the buildings and the Pegasus hobbies you are linking to are not the same thing. I think... That website is for a hobby store in California that is awesome by all means, but I dont think they produce their own materials. Most of the terrain they sell online is just stuff their staff people put together, paint , and then sell as terrain pieces.
I have been there many times and I have never noticed them selling terrain that was their own label. There is a chance Im wrong I havent been there in a while.

I would've sworn Kyoto-sama or someone else had found a link to those showing Pegasus Hobby as the manufacturer or US distributor. They do have some of their own branded items, so it's entirely possible they could be the ones making 'em, though I don't know for sure either way.

I emailed them this week about it and I'll let everyone know when I find out more. I hope there are more of these in the pipeline. Unlike the Platformer etc kits these do not have any Imex branding on them so I dunno.

Well, their webpage hasn't been updated in two years either, so that might have something to do with it. Yes, even here in the US of A we have people that still find the "internets" as some curious new fangled thing.

Kid Kyoto: You just costed me USD360. Ouch. I stopped by The Warstore to buy a second Gothic Building (I have the Cityfight large(st) box, one GB and the techno bridge) but got kinda carried away when shopping... Mostly new Reaper Master paints (love 'em), miniatures from different ranges (gotta try, lots of new and interesting lines), 'clicks terrain (good for those finishing touches on buildings/terrain), glue and green stuff.

Would I be correct in the assumption that the pegasus kits don't have the same level of detail, or are of the same quality as the GW ones? (Just an assumption from the pictures...)
Also, I'm not sure if I agree with your statement that they go together. Were you referring to the fact that they are the same size? Because the Pegasus models seem to have thick pillars on the corners, whereas the GW stuff doesn't appear to.
Again, this is just an observation from the pics you have posted.
|
My strategy is this: I usually don't bring it up in random conversation with non-gamers, unless for some reason it's very pertinent to the situation (which means never). Hordini on the subject of breaking the subect of Warhammer/40k with outsiders |

(Just an assumption from the pictures...) Level of detail is lower on the pegasus kit but you get a lot more and they fit together better. Mixing their walls and GW's would take some converting and filing but they should stack on top of each other well enough.
