I think it's just an exitus rifle with a kroot rifle flash supressor.

 no spiky bitz?! ? what kinda kroot is he?

Is that a huge mold line on his right leg, or just a trick of the light?

Actualy i think its both,  you dont notice it in normal light. But the shadow in the pic really highlights it!

And your right about the chain sword thing, i had never noticed that the Exotus long rifle has a very similar design to the old style chain sword!

looks good. I think bringing the highlights up where two similiar colors meet would help differentiate between the two. ie: the rifle butt and kroot arm.
