Here are some pics of upcoming AT-43 models, some of these are from a recent italian convention so the info about them is kinda hard for me to read

And just to let you know what the difference between a studio paintjob of a blank model (yes they'll be availible!) and the factory painted model is:

If they match GW scale I'll definitely buy me enough AT-43 to make another IG regiment.

I don't care if they match scale or not, I'm definitely scooping a bunch of these up,
even if I have to sell Malfred off. Sorry, baby, but these figs are the next best
thing to sliced bread.

HOLY HELL!

Those Xenos are sooo damn good - it's Final Fantasy the Movie & Evangelion type styling, but so much more - it hurts. Great to hear they'll be available blank (plastic???), and damn that's cool stuff.
The humies are pretty solid too, nicely realistic enough. The powered suits are quite cool and clunky too. Only thing I don't like is how almost all of the humans hold their guns. Just ... not right. But meh, more $$ for Xenos Death!

I've said it before but it bears repeating.

GW

and particularly

Forgeworld

For years they've had intantry models of similar quality but restricted supply to overpriced resin available only through very limited distribution channels.  They've even had the ability to make them in plastic but decided not to since tau piranas were a higher priority.

And now Rackham will eat their lunch.

Ah well.

I can see an all Human Auxiliary Tau army being done with those power armor suits. In fact, I can see me doing it. If I had the time. Or the money.

Wow!  So does the game suck? People keep saying they are going to use these as 40k models, why not use them for the game they were designed for?

All I know is if the rules are anything like the miniatures... I just found a new game to play.

Actually the game play is supposed to be great.  You can see the rules by downloading them here:  www.at-43.com/index.php

Eat their lunch, hell. Rackham is about to beat them up, take their lunch money, and hang them on a hook in the locker by the elastic of their underwear.

I just have one problem with Rackham- their rules. Maybe it's a translation thing, but I just don't like the rules much. So I have lots of beautiful figures that I never use. Which is just like GW, considering I painted their stuff for years before I ever saw a rulebook.

He's got a mind like a steel trap. By which I mean it can only hold one idea at a time;
it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

And if you don't like the game, there are plenty of others (from No Limits to 5150 to whatever) that you can use those beautiful, beautiful figs for.

I'm holding off for the neo-soviets, but those Maschinen Krieger-style battlesuit figs are so mine.

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

Ahh, Rackham miniatures, Privateer Press rules... That would be the perfect mix.

A perfect mix can't involve GW in the recipe.

I was thinking the cyborgs from 'Blame!' by Tsumo Nihei.

and the human power armor is reminiscent of Maschinen Krieger (Ma.K)

These are very nice models, the detail on the unpainted one looks to be pretty nice. My only complaint is with the guns. They look rather cheesy, clunky, and not-menacing. But, then again, what can you expect from Frenchmen? Be glad they have weapons at all.

More than anything, I think that selling prepainted models will also be something GW will have to respond to in some fashion. The price would have to be reasonable, but if it is, I think it's something a lot of players will want. I see a lot of unpainted models, and a lot of models that aren't painted as well as the mass production stuff Rackham has.

These would make excellent Imperial Guardsmen

These guys could be Imperial Guard Stormtroopers.

And the chap in black on the left could be an assassin (any but the Culexus).

I agree with the comments about Tau Human Allies.

Those battlesuit guys would make excellent stealth suit alternatives. And the Firetoad things great Crisis suits.

Some conversions, some GW guns, Some green stuff and your in business.

At the moment I've been converting up Corvus Belli Infintiy minis as my Tau Human Allies. I really like the idea of having a high tech anime ish alternative for humans in 40k that are stylistically different from imperials. Guard with tau shoulder pads... neh thats not enough. They need to be totally different. I also really like the idea of having a wide and diverse mix of races in the Tau army, really reflecting the Empire feel.

Its great to hear that these will be unpainted as well. Definately I'll be buying loads. Those jump packers will make great Vespid alternatives.

Just to let you know that the pic posted of the grey/whiteish mini is not an unpainted version.

It is an example of a prepainted model undercoated with spray.

From the looks of it unpainted will not be available, however, if it sprays nicely it doesn't matter as it should give nice finish.

My only concern is from a conversion modeliing view. Ie if you saw or cut off an arm or gun and the prepainted coat flecks and chips, leaving little nasty bits, this maybe a nuisance when it comes to under/over coating the models.

Yep outstanding all around. From what I have read there will NOT be unpainted versions. Also the infantry are all in a slightly soft plastic (although paintable) and that I suspect is the reason for the gun designs. It is also not clear what photos are production minis and what ones are touched up professionally. Rackham has said some of the photos have been of hand re-touched minis.

But this stuff will be great for AT-43 and all of the other sci-fi skirmish rules out there. The impact on GW will be interesting. We'll have to see how Rackham actually delivers.

Time for Dakka to add an AT-43 forum?

ill have to say they look pretty nice but they don't seem to offer any real hobby aspects because im not much of gamer even though I am making a black templars army as we speak but for me my favorite part is converting and painting miniatures. I would not like to see these prepainted miniatures taking over the miniature buisness.
