Subject: Titan as a carrying case?

I have a wacky idea. Would it be possbile to convert a carrying case so that it looked like a 40K scale titan? I am thinking of doing this for my thousand sons army. The titan/case wouldn't necessarily have to be playable, just look cool. Although, using VDR for it in big battles would be neet.

I am definately no beginner when it comes to scratchbuilding. I am just stumped in two areas. How do i make it durable enough to withstand being a carrying case, and how do I make a lid or drawer for my models without ruining the looks?

I think it was Foda Bett who made the titan Albion which had openable legs for chimeras and such. If he hasn't chimed in in a day or 2 remind me and I post the pictures I saved.

Well, the Warhound and Warlord have that large main body section which is wider/longer than it is tall. Maybe if you made it so that it splits/opens (think of a beetle shell) to give you access to the middle. Could work if you don't have too many vehicles. I think you'd want to use a fairly light/sturdy plastic for this project. You may not be able to get the best level of detail on what is at core a carrying case, but it could be pretty neat.

I'm afraid you're going to have to Kid Kyoto, since I upgraded my computer I've lost all the links to my old photobucket accounts, including the ones with the titan pictures. Each leg could hold 8 chimeras or russes if you removed their turrets. The back of the titan could open so you can access all the switches that run the lights and other functions (sounds, etc), but it could also hold 4 full platoons of guardsmen on the shelves. Here's the army it was intially designed for: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v314/Foda_Bett/Steel%20Legion/ Just remember if you're building a carrying case make sure it doesn't weigh more than 20 times the army, and if it does, try to make sure that you can actually move it when its built

What if it wasn't actually a titan. I could also make the case look like a fortress. What was that super huge vehicle that use to be in epic? A capital imperialis? Would it be fluffy to have one of those for a thousand sons army?

That or some other gothic/medival rolling fortress would be fine. Any sort of drop ship would work too, like the Mechwarrior one.

I thought a carry case was to carry your geeky dolls around without people knowing you play with little dolls.
Doesn't building a titan to house yuor models and carry them around defeat the purpose a little?

Well to be honest the only reason I built it was because I was tired of people building a 1 or 2 foot tall warlord and calling it "to scale." I've also believed in the "put up or shut up" mentality, if you can't show me what you're capable of then what gives you the right to criticize my work?
So I killed 2 birds with one stone and I have something that could actually devestate an army if we played 5000pts.

was yours to scale. IN the GW here in hammersmith they had one that was about 3feet and I thought that was to scale, was that the imperator titan?
