now that i understand a little more about the army, with the egg bot you should paint it like an easter egg so it will be just like the trojan horse.
"hey look a gaint easter egg" "I bet it is full of candy"
"Ha Ha we are Eldar not candy you die now"
"...." no replies since the guards men are dead.

Regarding the inclusion of kroot in the force, there was talk earlier of mind control and slavery. None of this is needed of course, Kroot are mercurial... they will fight for the highest bidder at times, the highest bid in this case might be a decent percentage of the Eldar pirates loot.
It would also make sence in an objective game, objectives can be anything, including stashes of weapons and valuable arceo-tech, Kroot being the rangers of the force would be perfect to loiter around objectives (being troop and able to claim them)

Nice project, I don't think you have all the techniques needed for painting, though the terrain paint is sweet! However I love the style of your painting, very Blanchesque, lovin it. With practice your work will be awesome. Nice conversions, maybe they could benefit from a deeper knowledge of the universe and fluff.

John Blanch? i wish i could draw those 80s heavy metal style posters like he does. Im not really sure i see the similarities between a old school pro painter and newbie me.

But where will the creatures sit?
Personally, I would cut the weapons up into smaller bits and reorient them. Currently they are still very recognizable.
I think the pose is quite recognizable too, lurching forward like that. I am looking forward to seeing where you go with this.

Sorry for my terse reply. I most certainly do appreciate the feedback. I think that the more recent models do have smooth paint jobs, and that the earlier paint jobs were done with sub standard paint and suffered for it, but are not indicative of my current quality.

The later stuff is improved, but overall still looks like you're rushing your models. 3-4 thin layers of paint for 100% coverage is needed instead of rushing the layers.

What is a nebula thrower? i googled it and didnt come up with anything.
I would kind of like to use a big beastmen style head but im not sure. A tau piece might be good though.

Ah i would call that a smoke launcher. but knowing what you meant nebula thrower makes sense.
Yesterday I went to the the near by GW and played a game. I basically got wiped out but it was still fun. My stupid guardians did nothing but run off the table. Also my guided bright lance was a fail lance for sure. Though it was pretty fun to see my swooping hawks dive in and immobilize a chimera and then run off. Mostly the Dawn of War deployment screwed me from the beginning.
On the plus side i got bases so i can build the rest of my kroot i have. I got a really sweet bit for my junk robot.
First the cute little kroot.
its a little hard to see but there is a strap that "holds" the gun on his back on.
And my robot, pretty near done im just deciding weather or not to give it a face. Right now im leaning towards no specific face because makes it a little more anonymous and mysterious.
I made the neck jut out from the body, about 2 cm, to make it a bit like he was lurking or leering.
what do you think?

Nice work going on here. If you fancy making something like the kinder egg of doom stompa size, there is a great MR Potato head titan on the web somewhere (it is better than the regular stompa IMO). I do love that scrap droid!

Well making a titan seems pretty unlikely but i have seen the Potato head stompa and i think it looks better to. The regular one looks like its wearing a dress. Maybe some easter egg war walkers would be a good addition .
Some more kroot! now i have 9 total.

nid kroot lol^^
the armed to the teeth^^ i got that part on the back too and thought ever since what to do with it... good idea, looks cool.
yeah smoke launchers, damn right^^, played so many wargames and couldn´t remeber that simple thing...
well hope you had a funtime nevertheless, i expect to loose spectaculary when playing my first game ever, whenever that might be...
how was the reaction upon you individualised bunch of eldars by other players at you shop?
as for the carapice again. i want to do a special killteam, manly two guys SM with carapice and thorns and so on to be special nid killers...it has to do with my army fluff...
good luck for further games^^

My opponent didnt mind at all, he thought it was at least little bit cool. it was only two squads though not my whole army. SM with additional nid armor or nid trophies would be cool!
CodGod wrote:I wasn't sold on the robot at first, but it's turned out really great. Well done.
thanks! i wasn't sure how it was going to turn out myself.
Because i got all these bases i decided to make some jetbikes. Also i think the flying bases look silly and are to high up. They will either be guardian jetbikes or shining spears.
suggestions?

Looking pretty good, Crimsonmicc. I dig the walker. For some reason I was thinking of i more as a sentinel instead of a Wraithlord. The bike looks promising, and I like the "carapace" armour. I think I'll be using that on a kommando!

I have an old B-52 bomber kit that i found and those are its engine pods. i find them to have a sort of star wars made by a jawa on Tatooine look to them. If only my rangers looked more like tusken raiders/ sandpeople . The corrugated plastic is from a WWII Sherman tank that had a optional missile rack. I also have some bits from a P-38 lightning (the back fin on the first bike).
Sprue is great for frames and cores that get more interesting piece built around. Also they look pretty good as metal beams the only problem is that they dont cover much area. But with sprue and plastic card i think anything could be built.

i second that, what in the short time i have seen was built with plasticcard i can´t possibly all describe. there seems to be no limit...if it weren´t so hard sometimes to cut i wouldn´t find the need to by any tanks at all.
by the way, will you adding some heavy support to your army? would be fun to watch considering your sideways approach to create new units as you have done so far...

I would love to add just about any of the heavy support to my army, in particular the falcon tank or the eldar artillery platforms. but i dont want to drop any money on them and their to large to scratch build and im running out of GW bits. Since i play at a GW store i fell like i have to put at least some GW pieces on.
That reminds me at the my GW store i saw the Dark eldar and read some of the dark eldar book. It looks super excellent and i dont know if i can resist their awesomeness.

On some of the models its battle damage but on the kroot i just found that the glue stuck much better on rough surfaces. The first few kroot i tried to glue without roughing the surface and they fell apart when i picked them up.
Of all the heavy support the most like i will make is a the heavy weapons platform. But i think i will buy some more stuff before try to make more.
