I am with you man. Graphics are block and look like they have gone back in time when you compare other recent shooters like SOCOM4 and Black Ops and Gears of War. Are we supposed to believe that one marine is taking on the ork race? Don't get me wrong I am a huge fan of this but can't say I am that impressed with game play, story or graphics.

How do the graphics look bad? Black Ops doesn't look incredible, and Gears has a lot of texture pop-in problems. I'd say it looks just as good as either of those games, while maintaining a faster framerate with a LOT more going on at once. Black Ops has, at most, a dozen guys around at a time? Gears has about the same numbers. Space Marine has dozens of Orks, if not hundreds. If it looks 90% as pretty as other games while all those Orks are running around, I can't find reason to complain.

Also, you're a Marine captain. It's still kind of stretching what kind of damage you can do, but it works better for video game purposes than Fire Warrior where you're just, well, a Fire Warrior. Story we don't know too much of (but can't be as ham-fisted as Black Ops') and we can't say much about gameplay aside from "it looks cool/doesn't look cool" since nobody's played it yet.

For me I don't mind the graphics, nor do I have a problem with the space Marine captain running around slaying half a ton of Orks. I stated my opinion on the first page and I don't think it will be particularly well reviewed nor 'deep'.

So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."

Yes.
Yes.
Yes yes yes yes, Relic do it!

Agreed. I would fornicate in my bed with a game like this.

I cannot WAIT for this game.

But yeah, agreeing with everyone else here. I have to get Space Marine, L.A. Noire, Skyrim, Black Ops, Modern Warfare 3, new iPhone, and, most importantly, a new freaking job? Why can't my parents accept the fact that not having a job is a good excuse for needing money??!!

All you have to do is win the lottery. Sounds easy right? Haha.

Too me, I don't need awesome graphics. Sure, if I get them, cool, but if I don't I'm not gonna be annoyed. I play games for the gameplay.

It came out in 98 so it might take some finagling to make it run on modern computers. The Squad Command game on DS/PSP tried a similar approach but wasn't anywhere nearly as well received. Chaos Gate is fondly remembered by a lot of posters on 40k forums, but I myself have never played it. I did play the Eldar Panzer General-style game that came out around the same time though. It was alright.

Well I must say I am looking forward to another 40k game. I would like a bit more to it based on the trailer it looks awfully lean... that might be because they are trying to get it out and generate some income so that installments and others improvements can be added on... I wish there was a tabletop console based game with which to hone my skills.

Set up shop and blast 'em to pieces is my favourite strategy.

This game looks great. A few ideas that would make it great (in my mind) would be co-op and customizable power armour

Now that is something I would love to play. Or even a strategy style like Starcraft, Warcraft or Age of Empires. Although it could impact the sales of the actual models considering people would move to the video game aspect and forget the models. But I would doubt it would impact it too much. People like Warhammer for the painting, modeling and actual tabletop play. Then again kids and younger starter players would move to the video game. Or it could motivate them to paint and model, I don't know Im just rambling now.

What do you mean by it looking lean? Doesn't look any leaner than most action games.

Have you guys looked into Vassal 40k? It's a little difficult to attain but with some searching you can still turn it up. I'd really recommend it.

This game looks to be a fantastic step in creating some seriously good 40k console games. It really seems to capture the feel of warhammer what with the gothic architecture and very seems to have been very well researched with plenty of familiar 40k gubbinz.

I belive the game is supposed to have around 8 hours of gameplay, a little too short for my liking but acceptable nontheless.

That new trailer make the game look even better, having some obvious changes made since the last one.

Looking forward to the release!!!

Waaaaiiiiitasec- do you recall the name of that game? Sounds like something I'd be willing to work out a port for Windows 7 etc. for out of sheer geek love.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

All I'm saying by it looking lean is that it seems pretty basic 40k when the entire universe of 40k is huge and to me the game doesn't do it justice. And in looking at the trailer again it seems like they took AoBR and made a video game outta of it.

Well, the Horus Heresy might be a little much to introduce new players to the game! They haven't let on much yet about what the story's about, but they've confirmed Orks and Chaos, and there was old footage of Nids. I think there's enough potential there for something interesting to happen.

True true... I guess with the variety of different game types this is one that will probably get people interested and then they expand...to us regular players/gamers there is at least some to be desired.

With development costs of more than 20 million dollars, I'm just glad they are willing to take a step in this direction. If it's not all I'd ever dreamed of, I'd be willing to accept that with the understanding that it will bring greater future projects along.
That being said, I've yet to be disappointed by Relic's work thus far

Also, great MP news:
"All of the following multiplayer details are yet to be confirmed, but during our hands-on time the planned multiplayer will consist of 8 versus 8, Chaos Space Marines pitted against those loyal to the undying Emperor. Multiplayer will feature an XP progression, unlocking new items as your fully customisable Space Marine levels up. There will also be a Cleanse mode, co-op for up to a squad of five marines taking on wave after wave of enemies."
