Many thanks.

Now that it's on a base, here's a few more pictures of it compared to some other stuff. Primarily other beasties just so you can see its sheer size.

Some 50 odd warriors about to get crushed.

Kholek... I used to think he was pretty damn big.

Keeper of Secrets

Bloodthirster

Not even the massive Toad Dragon can compare

And the closest thing to it... The Mammoth

I'm currently stripping my FW Mammoth in an attempt to repaint it slightly better (and more akin to my new Khorne army scheme. I used to have a Khorne army back when I first started... but they were promptly stripped as I began to revitalize everything!).

At any rate. I played a fairly big game this past Saturday. Twas 12,000 Storm of Magic, not including the 3,000 extra points I got to put towards my beasties! In all I was able to field the Emperor Chaos Dragon, Exalted Bloodthirster, Exalted Keeper of Secrets, two Toad Dragons, and my Mammoth. They really did do quite well (most of them O.o ) and I'd like to think they looked pretty impressive on the battle field.
I tried to take pictures after each player turn... so here they are! If you hadn't figured out already... the Emperor Chaos Dragon is just a wee bit massive.

*If anyone wants to know the fate of that poor, poor dragon... In the very last picture, you can see a yellow die right in the center of all that chaotic fighting... well that just so happened to be an 8 marker Comet of Cassedora that promptly exploded as my dragon got in range. I didn't bother to take any more pictures after that, as there was very little left to take pictures of.

I started to work on some individual Exalteds/Sorcerers yesterday, and made some pretty good progress. Some are still WIP, but here's much of what I accomplished (although not all of it!)

Let me know what you think!

Khorne Exalted with two axes

Exalted converted from a Crom model (I believe?)

Tzeentch Sorcere (will eventually be on disc)

Khorne Exalted with hammer

Harry the Hammer converted with Wulfrik's shield, and a Warshrine head! The is probably one of my favorites, and I'm leaning towards Slaanesh with him.

Tzeentch Exalted converted from Dark Vengeance. I'm thinking about putting him on a Cav base and having some empire guy holding his throat like he's being choked. Kind of the feel I was going for with this guy!

Thanks megabambam!

Quick little update of what I worked on yesterday and today...

Finally (what has it been... well over a year?) put the heads on my second unit of Slaanesh Marauders. Now I just need to craft up the banners and musicians for the units.
I'm also hoping to clean up the mold lines on the Chosen and get to spraying both marauder units + the chosen as soon as I get decent weather again.

Started work on the Khorne Knights. Got the first 5 for the most part done, but am limited on the next 5 as I need to obtain more Skullcrusher lances, heads, and shields. Hopefully I'll be picking up another box or two of Skullcrushers soon and get to finishing them!
I'm also hoping to start painting on the Khorne army very soon. Surprisingly, I'm quite anxious to paint them, and I'm simply waiting to utilize my airbrush (quite honestly, I'm stumped on what all I still need to get for it, and I need to do some research. Perhaps if I post some questions you all can help?) to do so.

Let me know what you think!

As a little side note: I've been pondering how to go about my Khorne Marauders, since I'm currently using my Nurgle ones (which is stopping my from painting them) in place of them. As of current, I'm leaning towards using Beastmen Gors, as it would fit quite well with the converted Warriors (It might even allow me to start up a Beastmen army using the Warriors as Bestigors!). However, I don't believe you can model them with great weapons, so some converting would be in line! What do you guys think of using the Gors as Khorne Marauders? Yes or no?

Thanks Johnny. And no, sadly I do not.

At any rate. I made the dreadful (and I truly mean that in the best way possible) decision to push my Skullcrushers to an 18 man unit. Because apparently that's necessary. Eventually I would like to get them to 24 (including or not including characters. At the moment I'm including 2 characters in the 18), but as of current I'm trying to figure out how to fix up a second hero/lord for the unit, rather than borrowing my Jugger Troll.

I also started some work on the unit filler's rider. I might forge a monstrous cav base for him, built up with cork board, and use that as my lord/hero. I can see it looking a bit odd with the maulerfiend on such a small base, but we'll see.

I kinda think the Maulerfiend should stay as a Unit filler. To me he looks more likely to represent 4 Jugger Knights than one Lord on a Juggernaught. If that makes sense?

As for the second Juggerlord you said you were trying to make, what about using the old school Juggernaut? Or, if that doesn't take your fancy, you could use a Bloodletters Juggernaut, as they're distinctly different to the Skullchrushers. Add a lord and hay presto, you have a new leader!

Thanks for the input ghosty. After putting a monstrous cav base under him, I quickly came to the conclusion that I probably wouldn't use him as a normal jugger! So good call there.

Definitely not a fan of the old school juggers, and I was definitely aiming towards using a normal jugger with a converted lord on top.
I could have sworn the WoC and Daemon juggernauts were the same models though? I recall a lot of complaining about it when the Skullcrushers got released.

I think I might just pick up another box and convert up 3 lords/heroes from it, then once I have my 24 man block, it will be more like 20 + 4 characters. As long as the total is 24 juggernauts I'm fine with it!
I suppose that it still poses a problem in that even with two more boxes (regardless of how I use the models) I will only have 23 guys after removing the Jugger-Troll. So many dilemmas!

I presumed that though the bulk of the Juggers look the same, I thought that the detailing on them was different? If not, that's my bad call. But I think your idea is a pretty good shout. On the topic of not enough Juggers, how about Another Unit Filler?

I don't really want to add another to be honest. I think that Mauler fits perfectly in the center when counting as 4, and I love it. I'd also only be 1 jugger short, so not much need for another unit filler.

If it really comes down to it... I could always buy another box and convert up 2 more characters to put with knights, and leave the 3rd for the unit.

Only time will tell I suppose!

The agony that I see coming at simply owning 26+ juggernauts is somewhat mind numbing, I must admit.

Well, I got a new camera finally! No more cell phone pics for me! Wanting to try it out and fiddle with the settings, I decided it was about time I got some proper pictures of that Nurgle BSB.
Photographing station was pretty make-shift and the camera settings could still use some tweaking, but even still these seem to be a big improvement.

On the contrary to how much better the pictures are... I'm already kicking my self for not trimming those mold lines, and I already hear the comments rolling in about it!
Definitely won't be making that mistake again, as it really takes away from the miniature. Maybe I'll go back and strip it, trim it, and repaint it. I messed up the banner pretty bad anyways.

Regardless, let me know what you think of him now that he's got proper(ish) pictures!

Thanks Cutthroat.

Good news and bad news! I'm finally managing to trade off my really old and terrible CSM army for even more WoC!

This should get me about:

38 Warriors
36 Marauders
15 Horsemen
40 Hounds (This almost makes me sad. No one should ever have 120 + hounds. Ever.)
20 Knights
Hellcannon
14 Incubi (more Slaanesh Chosen!)
5 Hellstriders
Lord on Manticore
And a handful of other characters!

The down side to this is that I likely wont be able to order the planned FW models for another couple months, as I really need to finish a great deal of what I have before I get even more.

With these new models, I should be up to 300 Warriors, 250+ Marauders (and I am actually about to buy 80-100 gors for my Khorne Marauders... so you might as well bump that up to 330+), and 20 knights.

My ultimate goal, if at all possible, would be to get 500 Warriors. 100 for each mark, and 100 undivided, with 500 marauders following the same pattern. The Knights I will likely extend to 20 for each mark (which I can now do), and then another 20 will eventually develop into undivided!

It's a very big endeavor, so lets hope I can actually get it done.

Your army is astounding. The sheer volume of men you can put into the field on its own is breath taking, but I love how much time you're putting into the miniatures too.

Thanks guys.

I loved the comet! Even though it killed my poor dragon, it devastated literally everything and I think actually won me the game. (Well actually, I can safely say the Hellcannon that forced a miscast on every wizard on the table won me the game)

On another note, I've nearly finished 20 of my Slaanesh Warriors. You know... those ones I started over a year ago? Hopefully I can get the last finishing touches on them tonight and post pictures tomorrow.

I can see a hellcannon at that point level being pretty insane when freaking out and forcing miscasts on everybody. Very cool!

What makes it really fun is that the wizards that are on the fulcrums have to roll on the big storm of magic miscast table to. So in all I think it killed about half of his wizards and left the rest as either monsters or 1 wound characters.

Now that I got the 4th Hellcannon and am capped, I cant wait to bust em all out for the next game and hopefully roll that "everybody miscasts" a few times!

Not really, as it is extremely unlikely that they'll do so. More likely that it will be reformed to a per model basis.

Well I must admit that I haven't done much work as of late (damn you Guild Wars 2), but as of getting that WoC army from the trade I mentioned, I have sort of become reinvigorated and will hopefully get back to work soon. I'm not entirely sure how much work I'll be able to get done due to finals coming up in a couple of weeks, but at any rate, I decided it would be best if I picked a "project" and worked towards that, rather than mindlessly working on the various armies.

With that in mind, I decided to round up my collection of Knights and proclaim that they will be next in line. As you can see, there are 70 Chaos Knights pictured, and 10 more on sprue. It will be quite a task to restore all of them to their former glory, but hopeully I can use a fair deal of greenstuff to make it less noticeable on the Tzeentch and Nurgle ones!

Be prepared for a lot of cav incoming! 20 for each god to be exact!

Well I finally got my airbrush ready to rock and roll, and didn't hesitate to start work on the Khorne army!
I'm definitely loving how fast and smooth I can get the basecoat on the models, and although I'm still extremely new to it, and I definitely have room for improvement, I cant complain with the results!

Additionally, I finally modeled a Khorne Lord on Jugger from the Manticore kit. I wasn't pleased with how the finecast lord didn't stand out in the unit, so this definitely needed to be done.

Let me know what you think!

Many thanks! I just got another 3 juggers basecoated. Hopefully I can keep this up and at the very least get the whole army with their red basecoat, then start working on some of the other areas!
Right now I think my biggest challenge is the warriors. I really trying to avoid finishing them model-wise. They obviously need a lot of touch-up on the side, and even on the front for some, and for some reason I just haven't been in the mood to do it. If I'm able, I'd like to try push myself and get the warriors based and red-coated for a tournament on Saturday!

Well, it has been nearly a month since my last update, so I must apologize for that. I was eagerly awaiting my new book and models, and to be quite honest, I have been working on very minute things (fixing warriors so they don't look like they were dunked in acetone or some other horrible fate) and didn't do much worth sharing. However... I finally got my first wave of new goodies.

Sadly, I was not able to get everything that I planned to as the store was out and I didn't feel like ordering them. So for now I snagged:

Henticle beast (for the Slaanesh army of course)
Chimera
4 Boxes of Dragon Ogres
4 Chariots
2 Boxes of Trolls (for converting to Bile Trolls)

Hopefully I will be able to snag the rest of me plunder in another week or two, and all will be good!
Look forward to some very packed updates in the near future!
