Thanks! Kromlech I think, or one of the Euro companies. Not my figure, so I don't know much about it.

Kromlech. They do some great figures. He is one of the Ork pilots they make.

I decided to finish and paint a grot lugger - that was the old Gorka Morka peddle powered grot vehicle. My younger brother made a simple one when he was experimenting with playing Grots. He never finished it (basically it was dec with 4 wheels and a bit of a platform on the back), but it has been around for years, and I've decided to build it up and paint it, along with smaller skiff if I can find it.

Behold the might Grot landcruiser Grim Skull Grim!!!

Only partly done, needs railings and the "rowing" system.

Kromlechdo make some lovely models... Looking forward to the grot lugga, I've always had a soft spot for the grot rebels in Gorkamorka

Thanks! I've enjoyed your grot blog, so I'm glad to give a little back. I like grots as the underpinning of the Orks, the ones who really keep things going.

The lugger has a captain - Sly Slagbo!

I've also been painting up some Forbidden stars ships for use in Battlefleet Gothic:

Plenty of detail on them, though a bit bendy.

This is dakka; no better source of inspiration needed . That Sly Slagbo model is looking great, is he a conversion?

Nope, he's a Kromlech also. I think the resemblance to Rambo is intentional, but I'm not sure.

I've painted up an Eldar Kill team out of the odd eldar figures that have found their way to me over the years, mostly randomly. One of them is not painted by me - can you guess which one?
I'm fairly pleased with the bases - I was going for a scrubby, old, maybe dying world.

Quite pleased overall. I think I'd like more Eldar. I also think I might convert some Reaper Chronoscope disco heroes to capture that proper early Eldar bellbottom pointed boot vibe.

I finished the Grim Skull Grim - now on to the Grot Skiff "Skull". I was mostly just trying stuff out. I was pleased with my tent (made from paper towel soaked in glue drapped over a paperclip frame, with some green stuff patches), the speed painting technique for making it look like ti was made of other things cut up. I based it black, dry brushed Burnt Sennia, Nutmeg Brown (craft paints), then silver without cleaning the brush. Finally I used Reaper foundation paints sort of spackled on to make the original paint, followed by some decals, and plenty of Seraphim Sepia. Not bad for a relatively quick job!

Grot luggas ftw! Eldar kill team is looking good as well! Based on the bics, I'd guess the dark eldar wych, because she has very sharp highlights when compared to the other models.

Thanks! Yes, the Wych elf is not by me. I'd never think to do highlights like that, (literally white on black), but it really works. It was part of cool "Secret Santa" miniature painting thing a local shop did. Here are a few shots of the Lugger with Capn' Slagbo, his crew, and a captured downed Ork Pilot on board....

The captain is on the bridge with his helmgrot, One Eye Grull

My first ever Grot - one of my first 40k Minis actually. Probably should base that guy. Though for a long time I never based anything on the theory that it never matched the board anyway.

Poor Sad Mukt never gets to work the "oars". Or use the shoota. So he pretty much just sulks in the tent.

I made this Tau Thingy (perhaps a drilling rig?), from the left over parts from a windshield repair kit. It was easy and fun, unlike the windshield repair.

Also did up the Grot Skiff "Skull". The sail is the only notable part - I did it by soaking a bit of tissue paper in glue, covering a ladle in ceran wrap, then carefully draping the tissue paper over it. When it was dry I cut it off. I've used the technique for vehicle drapes before. It is fairly strong, but I think next time I might layer more tissue paper on it. One side is Ceran wrap, so not very paintable....
Why does it have a moth wing for a tiller? I have no idea.

Note to self:

Next time I make round huts out of pipe, use these for the roof:

Painted of course. I found them while I was looking for red plastic toothpicks to make these (not my work, just want to make some for nostalgia's sake, since they were 40% of the terrain in early WD).

Where'd the Tau car come from?

Well 40k definitely needs more cars and you are doing good work towards that end.

Mostly due to Insurgency Walker's Blandishments, really. Having seen the cities of death roads, it is pretty clear why there are no cars in 40K...

But I do enjoy painting them!

And now a Shaltari Fire Drake! I kind of rushed it, and didn't match my previous Shaltari well, but it looks older and scarier and that is cool. I'm going to do Shaltari in 40K as some sort of terrifying xenos death machines.

Hmmm, good point. I think I had thought that originally when I was looking at it. A little on the small side, but that never really bothers me.
