Sad, but I'm not surprised. The rules have been terrible for years, and I suspect those fragile track sections cost them a lot in replacement parts. Once the Omega went OOP I was wondering when the rest would follow.

And the bad thing is that I was planning on getting one from Forge World after the first of the year. But only because I like the design of the Macharius.

There is still the Heavy Tank and Vulcan. I might have to snatch up one of each before they get gone, and replacement tracks become unavailable if they are broken in the packaging.

Krieg! What a hole...

I bitterly regret not getting Theodore Bruckner a few years ago, I wasn't hurting for money then, I don't know why I didn't get him then.

Now the Macharius Heavy Tank has gone bye-bye. Oh, well.

Saw that one coming. Good thing I bought another one (and another vulcan) when the vanquisher went OOP, it may have been the last one they ever sold.

So sad that the only option to get one of these wonderful beasts is to go to a recaster :(

Right. Gone through it, weeded out the dead links and updated with everything mentioned since my last post in here. Anyone got anything else that's freshly out of stock to add?

I doubt they are gone for good. Arvus is back, so it's most likely just a mold repair thing. Or a new mold.

I doubt the Macharius will be coming back. It sold too slowly due to bad rules and awkward casts.

This. The rules have been terrible for a long time, and the tracks are extremely prone to damage in shipping. The whole side of the tank is a single piece, with the tracks sculpted into it, and the edges of the tracks are very thin resin. So it doesn't take much to chip off pieces, at which point FW has to send out a replacement for a major component of the kit. Maybe that's worth it on a strong seller (like the latest space marine doors and shoulder pads), but on a kit that probably didn't sell all that much? I'm not surprised they decided it was more trouble than it was worth.

It's odd, but the Macharius Heavy Tank is back in stock. The Macharius Vanquisher is still gone, though.

It's gone again.

Weirdly, the Macharius Vulcan went "No Longer Available" for about 2 months and re-appeared.

Not uncommon. Usually means they had one returned and replaced the faulty part, or (more likely) they found another few of them in the warehouse and reactivated the listing. Happens a lot.

I'm really disappointed about the Macharius no longer being available as I was planning to buy one next weekend, after I receive my wage on Friday.

I've written to Forgeworld to express my disappointment and inquired about the future availability of the model. If I receive a reply I might share it here afterwards.

I also expressed my disappointment that it was not put on a "last chance to buy" list.

They might change their mind if more members of the public write to them as I've just did, as that has worked before.

Received this answer today:
Thank you for your email. Unfortunately this kit is no longer available to order and it was removed from our web store once the last of the stock of it was sold. This does not necessarily mean they will never return but it won’t be available for the foreseeable future.

So that's not a definite "no". I guess that's something.

At least the Macharius Vulcan is still for sale, so I'm getting that, and although I'd rather have bought the battle cannon one first, the Vulcan was also on my wish list. Tbh. I'd probably be more interested in fielding the Vulcan over the standard Macharius anyway, as it brings something different to the table (and not just more battle cannons). It's a pity it's so unattractive.

About that, I've already ordered a Vulcan, like I said I would do a few posts earlier.

So yeah. We have this peculiar import law in Norway which causes any consumer goods at a combined value above of NOK 350 (approximately £32/€36/$44) to be subject to additional Norwegian VAT and handling charges. Anything FW sells at a smaller value than £27-28 should be purchased individually to avoid added taxes. The added VAT really isn't that bad, it's the handling charge which is annoyingly expensive (NOK 140 last time I checked) and the delay caused by that process. The free shipping you get with an order valued over £250 goes a long way to cover the VAT, and UPS is slightly cheaper and faster than the Norwegian postal service. So whenever I order large kits, each costing more than £28, it makes sense to bundle them together, to get the most out of the free shipping option.

And that's what I did, and I don't really have anything left on my wish list other than a standard Macharius.

If I just order just ONE Macharius tank, it would get really expensive for me. According to my calculations I would have to pay £18 for shipping and an additional NOK 378 in Norwegian VAT and another NOK 140 for handling, at total of NOK 518/ £48. In total, the one Macharius tank would cost me £186. Whereas, in a £250+ bundle I would only have to pay about £35 extra.

They likely found another couple in a box somewhere. It keeps fluctuating on and off, so I doubt they're remaking them (especially since they gave a negatory answer).

If it would help you though Zingraff, I'd be happy to take delivery of it here in the UK, strip off the identifying labels (to remove any way of ascertaining value), and repost it for you. I'm down past the post office quite frequently anyway, so if you cover the cost of shipping it out to you, it's no skin off my nose.

That's all right, I got it planned out. I was getting an Earthshaker carriage anyway, eventually. I wasn't planning on buying it just yet, but I can fit it in.

I don't know - the URL has changed so I think it may be getting put back into production. I suspect that, despite its rules, it's quite a popular model.

Now the meme-tastic CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT is listed as being no longer available. But it will probably turn up as being back in stock in a few days.

Just as I thought, the CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT is back to being available. However, the Praetor is listed as being OOP. It will probably be back soon.

This might not belong here, but I thought I should report that I received my order yesterday (so that took 18 days, but then they did notify me that it might take a couple of days before the Macharius would ship). I guess the Macharius might have been "cast-to-order" or whatever the term is.

The Macharius Vulcan is flawless! FW has really made efforts on how they handle quality control and packaging, since last time I made any large orders from them. When I received my Crassus a couple of years ago, it was just a jumble of broken parts in a ziplock-bag, at the bottom of a cardboard box with hardly any packaging material. Every delicate part shattered by the massive slabs of resin that made out the body and tracks.

The Vulcan I got yesterday had all the slabs packed in a double layer of bubble wrap, and everything placed neatly in a sturdy white cardboard box covered in more bubble wrap, inside the shipping box, with more packaging material.

Seems to me that having to send out replacements for miscasts and broken parts, is going to happen a lot less now.

The Bale Taurus is gone? That was the next idea I had for getting a bull model to mount my Nurgle Lord. Damn. Not getting a Chaos Mammoth way back was bad enough.

Looking for a Skaven Doomwheel banner to repair my Nurgle knights.
