Judge had another beautiful, majestic homer in the first game of the double-header. . . A soaring beauty that hit the padding ABOVE the restaurant in centerfield, and bounced basically straight back into the outfield. I'm just amazed at this guy's power
Any Pirates fans here? I'm an Os fan, as any decent person would be, but as far as NL ball goes, I'm watching the Buccos. They got a nice win in extra innings against the Braves tonight.
Hate to say it but the Yanks are going to be bringing home the crown this year. They lead the most talented division in baseball and they have all the right tools.

I'm inclined to agree that they look like they're going to win their pennant race, but there's alot of season left and anything can happen, especially in the AL East which as you say is probably the most talented division in MLB.
October is a whole different thing. I doubt they win in the playoffs, that's a tall order. But I wouldn't put it past them to make some money moves for some playoff vets as the season progresses.

Ofc you are right. Long way to go. If I was a betting man though. Yanks have been in the shadow for too long for a team with that history - I think they are about to spend some big bucks.

With Mccutchen struggling I don't see them making it very far. Cole looks fantastic though - Braves just beat him up but he has been really consistently great all year.

I'm a Yanks fan, and I agree with the first part of what jasper said. . . right now the team is playing very well, and so far the injury bug has been manageable.
However, I see them having success in October because they do have veteran presence like Headley and Holliday. The key in October will be whether the young guys change their approach because of the month or not. IF they don't change, then I think they'll be good to go.
While I agree that the team may be spenders near the deadline, I think if they do much of anything, it'll be pitching, and maybe rotation help at that. The position players are, so far playing very well, and there are some young guys still in the minors who can/will be called up at some point to help out.

Jacoby is probably out the rest of the year now, given how he likes to rehab and return from injuries!

I thought he just had a concussion.

Time to trade Manny for a solid pitcher or two. Pretty much everyone know he's going to get a huge contract offer that the O's can't match, so sell him now while we still have time to salvage the season. Just tear the band aid off and let him get paid.

The Pirates are currently in 5th place, but the season is still young. They'll have found new and inventive ways to lose (live SE of Pitt, so Buccos fan by default - Jankees fan by inclination).
Wishing for the Nats to get the NL East Lockdowned and beat their post season rut. They do the first fine, Hell the whole NL, but can't seem to ever get through win a World Series. It is odd.
Yeah, that was an absolute bomb. Impressive, but hard to watch because it was against my O's.
The whole series was hard to watch, for that matter. Outscored 38-8 and swept like the O's were playing in the wrong league or something.
