Okie-Dokie, I'm a little late to the party, but I've finally made myself an account so I can throw my hat into the ring (or keys in the bowl, depending on the situation)

My cunning plan is to create some baroque nonsense in the form of an old water pump.

My starting materials

Followed by the most important step

Hahahahahahaha!

Actually, the head popped right off. Bit of an anticlimax really.

And, after a bit of chopping, and moulding some rubber stamps for detail gubbins, I have a mock up!

I'll set up a blog and link it here for the rest of my progress.

Using rubber stamps for moulding is brilliant, though.

I'd deduct points for using a razor saw instead of scratch-building a doll-guillotine. Nice looking start to the project. Good work.

*gasps* What year is it?! *record scratch* Oh, hello there. I bet you're wondering how we got here. Well you see, a few weeks ago I kicked off a project at work that has been consuming a lot of my time. Nights, weekends, you get the idea. You could say that my hobby time died in a "freak gasoline fight accident". Well, it might be OK, actually. I might pull though. Oh, no, he's died. I've had worse. Tis but a scratch. It's just a flesh wound!

But anyway, I'm checking in to see how the competition is going. I see progress. Progress is good!

Vik, good to see you! Woohoo, that's a lot of tubes! The walkways look really good.

I Ate a Bug, welcome! You're not late. Just in time, in fact. Let's see what you've got brewing here... well that's terrifying. However I'm intrigued to see how it turns out. Keep going!

We've got a couple of weeks left. Enough time to get your entries submitted.

That doll thingy is super creepy and cool. Also great looking project there Kingpin.

I got my milliput and filled in the gaps on my tower. Next steps is to file it down a bit(as it's a bit messy), then start the inside platform and ladder up to it. Then it's paint time.

Nice selection of items, I Ate a Bug. Look forward to where that goes.

Good progress, boundless08. Slightly more filler than I expected, but go with it. It'll work.

Good rust tone you have going, Kingpin54.

Keep it up everyone.

Cheers guys! I know, I went a bit heavy on the milliput. Only noticed it when I was finished and stood back to look at it anyway will tip on with it, it's not far off from normal Irish infrastructure anyway

I've based the inside and started working on the platform and some debris for the bottom, hoping to get it based tonight and painted up before I leave on me hollybocks on Sunday. Fingers crossed.

Everyone elses looks amazeballs btw, really liking the competition! And even though I'm scraping to get to the finish I can't wait for the next one when I'm more prepared

(New avatar. Still me. Just time for a change.)

boundless08, you can do it! Paint, paint, paint for the paint god!

kestral -- going for it?

Getting close folks. About one week left!

I think I've received only one completed entry so far, but there are several that are WIP. If you need advice, ask. If you want tips on techniques (or dirty tricks that almost feel like cheating), ask away. We want you to finish. You can do this. Sin boldly. Show us your pics!

Not where I should be

Trying to decide which of the 2 projects I have done to enter, if at all, need some more people in this, come on guys and dolls, so much promise in the early stages, so many great ideas. Would love to see them pull off.

Vik, you can do it! Take photos if you have time. If not, keep painting!

Cam, at your leisure.

boundless08, ok don't let this get around, but I'm rarely up at midnight these days. Getting too old. As long as the entry is in my PM Inbox in the morning.

We seem to be rather light on photos for this round. I'm clinging to the belief that you're all toiling away, glue in one hand, paintbrush in the other. Not sure how you're getting paint on to your palette... maybe you're using your toes. Whatever works.

If people need more time, please speak up!

All told I received 7 entries. Most of them in the last 24 hours. Talk about a race to the finish line!

A few entries were missing a statement of materials used. This really helps in evaluating the builds. I've sent PM's to those individuals.

I will post the final lineup later today.

Also, I think we traditionally have a popular vote poll. (LoER veterans, help me out here?)

Well done, everyone!

Start a new thread in P&M and under the text box, between "options" and "Attachments" is the "poll" button. Click that and fill in the things. Set it for 7 days and maybe send a PM to Yakface and ask if he'd be so kind to pin it to the front page so that we get lots of votes for a good result.

Now your hard work really begins. Good luck Cleatus.
