IG for the never ending CPs and the bodies to make it impossible to deep strike anywhere near your knight

I completely agree that the Adeptus Custodes sending a squad to help out would totally wreck shop. What's ludicrous is that they'd send 3 of their commanders, unsupported.

custodes don't operate like that though. The codex makes clear, as do the books, that individual custodes operate on their own initiative all the time. A shield captain isn't even a particularly official title. It's literally a dude that other custodes acknowledge is worthy of following.

Custodes don't operate like a modern military. They don't detach squads from an overall command structure with a strict military hierarchy. Three shield captains could literally be three dudes with some prominence showing up to wreck gak.

Oh, I wouldn't say that One of my peeps played IG/BA/Knight which he switched too just a couple of weeks before Nova and I didn't think it would be a tournament winning list myself when he asked to borrow my Castellan knight.
