force weapons dealing mortal wounds COULD have a bit of a side effect that isn't good so it's something worth examining (my fear would be suddenly Librarians are the ultimate melee unit or something ) but I do think giving GKs some sort of anti-invul save ability could be really useful at clawing out a intreasting niche for them. If the answer to "well he's packing a lot of re-rollable 3++ saves" is "luckly I brought grey knights" that'd be good for GKs and proably shake the meta up a bit.

Well, GK also have gak AP out of melee, for the most part. It doesn't matter if you ignore the Custodes 4++ if you don't pen any of their 2+.

Mortal wounds is really your only solution, and it's a bit dangerous to go whole-hog in on. A bonus MW from nemesis weapons and psybolts that wound, or roll X to wound might be nice.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!

Crowe is decent killing tyranid gaunts.... That's about it. T3 6+ saves is where he excels and our mass stormbolters already deal with that. Why can't he carry a nemesis force sword and have the same skills too?

Also... I miss the purifier Nova. Would love that back. 9" of Nova awesome? OMG yes. I would take Crowe for that.

The first fix is too bring our units on par in points. Comparing to custodes...

GM is about equal to a shield captain... So make him 120pts. Based off that logic (40pt drop)
Make our brother captain about 100-110pts
Stern about the middle of that.
Voldus then becomes 150
Draigo about 200
Chaplin about 100
Champion should be about 80
Crowe about 90 ( if he gets a decent sword, else 80)

Paladins are worse than custodians.
So make them 45ppm
Thus making terminators 35ppm.

That would be my start. Wouldn't be competitive, but better. Still need other fundamental fixes.

Combine that with my smite/psybolt/force idea.
