Regret buying my eldar, Grey Knights & various AoS units to expand my mortal chaos army (I had a bunch of Demons first)

Not Regret buying: Necromunda - despite only playing a couple of times with friends, I will keep all the stuff as it can make a good stand alone game in the future.

Regret Purchasing:
an entire Warmachine Menoth army. I could not even sell it sealed for more than pennies on the dollar. I gave it to my son. He prefers HORDES, however.

also was stunned at how bad some Mantic goblins I bought were , the infantry.

Regret Not Getting / Selling:

I sold off a ton of All Quiet on the Martian Front 15mm. With the game re-launching soon, I regret that deeply.
Also down about getting rid of assembled Dark Eldar when Kill Team came out a month later...

I only have two GW purchase/not purchase regrets.

Purchase: My Necron Pylons from FW.
Whatever year the Pylons were released (2002?) Between the Thur. night before Gamesday: Baltimore (2002?) when I saw the Pylon on FW & read its experimental rules & returning home from GD:B Sunday with 3 of them.... ForgeWorld updated & finalized the rules.
They went from being a Heavy Support choice to a Super Heavy choice.
Well, the place I was playing at at the time almost never allowed SHs to be used.
Grrr.

Non-purchase: The TA2 - Dwarf Juggernaut http://solegends.com/citta/ta2jugger/index.htm
I saw this awesome thing in the hobby shop at the mall when I was a kid. Had no idea what Warhammer was, but we were playing D&D.... I only had a few $s on me that day so tried to talk mom into getting it for me, but it was way beyond what she was willing to spend. A few weeks later when I did have the $ & got back to the store it was gone. And the person working there at the time had no idea what I was talking about. I should've begged harder.
Flash forward to 1990+ & I'm playing Dwarves in WHFB 3e. And still remembering that Juggernaut....
Well, I've found a few over the years but they've all been either poor quality re-casts, crazy ridiculous$, or worse both.
It's still on the wish list though.

Yeah, I forgot that I definitely regret not getting mote fleets for BFG than Orks and Imperials. I really want to still play that game!

Starting to regret buying the primus redoubt - its roof and roof based accoutrements are sagged toward the centre and it bugs me enough i've been scratch building my own bunker complex. was planning on cutting the bunker complex out of the tile to remount, but it looks awful in person.

Regret not buying 3 or 4 sentinel power-lifters - i really like the civilian stuff FW do when it does surface but didn't have spare moneys when they were on sale

Also regret not getting more 3rd edition stormtrooper grenade launchers - i need 10 now to finish my militia army but they are fairly rare and ebayers are asking from £13 to £16 PER MODEL. i'm waiting for them to go 'limited run' from GW instead

edit: i'll be listing the primus redoubt tile without the weapon in the swap shop here at some point, see if someone wants it for their realm of battle setup

Kinda regret the Custodians I bought to supplement my mini-marines now that Doctrines are a thing and Aggressors/Centurions are W3/4. It's only 1000 points or so, but they could have been something else.

On the fence about the mini-marines, I pretty much don't even look at them when I'm list-building anymore. I know that the non-primaris options that do still see the table are also on borrowed time.

I regret not buying another copy of island of blood/spire of dawn when they came out. I still think those are the nicest elves on the market. I wish I had enough to make a whole army out of them

I just saw a conversion that made me think of the old GW terrain piece of the wrecked Chimera turned into a temporary bunker. That is a model I regret not picking up.

Cheers,

I regret not buying more Tomb Kings kits in general, I would give a lot for being able to add to my force of them, granted I can use alternative models but its not the same as having a uniform army.

Move this item to the Regret Buying column. I don't enjoy AoS anywhere near as much as I thought I might and I don't want to paint an army of models that look the same.

I regret purchasing my Knight Porphyrion... it was nerfed into obsolescence shortly after that purchase. It was never super good in the game in the first place, so I'm not sure what precipitated the nerf.

Regrets -
Mini marine tigarius (bought him 2 months before the new primarus sized one came out, haven't even finished painting him and he is now an illegal model)

20 hellblasters (they are terrible)

Dark shroud (was meant to go with the hellblasters, well it neve rmade it out of the box)

Celestine (changed the soup rules she never sees the board anymore but she is a beautiful model and fun to paint so not that bad). This may be subject to change because I'll probably pick up new sisters (I love the new sculpts) and if she gets decent rules I still really like her model.

Custodes (again, soup rules have changed and they sit on my shelf and won't become a whole army. But they were fun to paint.)

Fire raptor (thank god I was able to sell it for close to what I bought it for but it got nerfed to hell a month after I got it put together and that sucked).

Regret not buying
A Xenos army at the beginning of 8th. Decided to expand on the marines I already had and that has left me chasing the meta dragon all edition with some weird self-imposed non-codex marines only restriction (I know it's dumb).

The genestealers vs dw box. I really liked those sculpts and secretly I think I would love to play nids (at least paint them).

A few of those shouldn't be regrets!

Chief Lib Tiggy is still viable to play - just toss him on the correct base size. He's equipped with the same staff/armaments. Email any ITC event or the folks at nova/adepticon will have no problem letting you play the smaller version. I just bought him recently since I heard the model was going OOP. They're still worth the same $20~ for the metal one so you can make your money back.

I ran a Dark Shroud from 5th to 7th edition. Great rules p[previously and a solid unit. Awkward model that breaks in transport a lot! How are they in 8th?

Hellblasters are a solid unit in Ultramarines/Iron Hands armies that are elite heavy. I've chosen to run them in almost every game! Depends on your local meta. We have a lot of Tyranid and Chaos players so they're my bread and butter killy ranged unit. It sounds like your custom chapter rules you self imposed made this unit terrible.

However - you're right too The Fire Raptor was a terrible kit to build and pretty bad. I hated that kit and the rules were terrible. Custodes are extremely expensive and I understand the regret for $200 for 15 little Terminators

This is my reret as well. If I had known I would have somehow scraped up some money even while being in university to have gotten some.
