They do the whole blind box certain ones are rare thing, but the way the sell them online they tell you if you didn’t get the rare one after completing the purchase so you can just immediately keep buying more.

So wait you don't even get that "joy of opening the random pack" part? Darn that's - yeah that feels scummy.

Instead of summoning demons from beyond the veil, it instead summons up cringe people spazzing about them on social media. I'm sure if it made Jared Leto appear in front of you that Mad Doc's tune on how he feels about them would change real quick

What? I’ve said nowt about Labubus!
Like Funkos, I’ve no particular opinion on them beyond “if it makes the buyer happy”

So... I can summon screeching "influencers" from TikTok and Instagram?
Hmmmm....
No thanks.

I don't understand how people can turn a blind eye to awful plastic crap like Labubus when the accumulation of plastic trash is a global environmental concern. Then there's also questionable factory conditions, the environmental impact of transporting anything globally, the human impact on stressed out workers at all levels of the supply chain, but feth it. If collecting ugly little dolls makes you happy, who cares about the cost?

Labubus have that twisted nature that almost approximates “personality”, so I mind them slightly less than Funko Pops. Still won’t buy any for anyone.

Random note. Check out how all the Marvel and Star Wars Pop Figs are bobbleheads. It’s a weird licensing thing where they’re not allowed to make toys, so they’ve all got bobbleheads, a technical distinction. At one time they also had hard plastic bases to help them count as statues or something, but I don’t think they do those anymore.

Similar how FFG tried (and failed) to pass off Imperial Assault as a miniatures game so it wouldn't conflict with Hasbro's license on Star Wars board games.
