That looks good. Maybe just another step or two lighter at the edges for that extra pop?

You know... you could make life a lot easier on yourself by being sneaky. Paint all the plates on the inside half of the axe (to the left of the dividing line) metallic. The paint the little circles bright glowy like you did for the the but on the top of the haft. Then all you have to do is work on the very edge. That should be simple enough.

@Gitz Don’t want to change it now. I actually did not like the silver with the neon green, but figured It was the easiest way. Here is a updated pic. This maybe the last attempt before going on to the next model.

I like it. You have a good value range going now, and the color is nice and rich.

Mostly, on my phone.

Yeah, very vibrant. And I like the paler grin on the wire at the back edge.

The Overlords blade looks pretty cool to me, picking the scheme for that is probably the hardest part of Necrons. Certainly it’s the bit that giving me the most contemplation!

Many thanks for the input all. Sorry I’ve not posted much lately but I am in need of a root canal or have the tooth pulled.
As for painting I have been working on the destroyers blades to match the Overlords. Here is an updated pic, the Overlord is finished, of them.

The consensus is that the new blade rocks. Do you like it? I suppose so, since the Destroyers are getting the same treatment. I think they are going to look pretty rad.

Yep, the overlords blade looks cool. It sucks about the toothache, but hopefully you can get it sorted soon

Oh now that's lovely! The black and gold look excellent together and the work on the face is top notch.

Looking very good. And with the gold trim, blue pad and red gun casing, surprisingly colorful for a guy dressed in all black.

Nice start on the chaplain, love the very neat handle of his crozius, nice black lines between the reds! And as others have said, great work on the face.

I’ve always loved the slightly heretical colourings of Chaplains. He’d look right amongst a horde of Black Legionaries,l! Great paint job Yorkright, the face is really well done, and Angry

The crozius is just mephiston red with agrax earthshade. After the wash I held the mini so it flowed into the lines then did it on the other side, dont tell anyone else its a secret..

Thanks Gobert, his face was done in white scar with the guillemans contrast paint over it. I also put a dab of fleshtearer contrast on his mouth then tried to pick out the eye and teeth.

Here is some pics of the finished Chaplain.

Ooh, nice! Those outriders are cool minis, and they look good in your ultramarine blue. Does the Sgt have a helmeted option?

He has his helmet sculpted hanging off his belt. You could carve it off, but it might take some sculpting to rebuild. Or a pouch and some purity seals.

Outriders are looking very nice. I’ve been enjoying the contrast paints for skin. Huge time saver for pretty decent results.
