The Shadowseer is pretty nice. What's the deal with the War Altar? Is it the old one, or is it an all new sculpt? The Theogonist looks like the original, but the pic is quite blurry.

It's a fluff thing. The Wraith-Starch allows the Harlequins to spring off of their loincloths and perform all those crazy acrobatic maneuvers.

"The last known instance of common sense happened at a GT. A player tried to use the 'common sense' argument vs. Mauleed to justify his turbo-boosted bikes getting a saving throw vs. Psycannons. Me gusta el Vidente de sobras. Is that the new Avatar in the back of one of the pics? It doesn't look like the forgeworld one. It's too smooth. Robohorse might be cool for an Iron Warriors daemonic steed conversion.

Those really are depressing. Except for the LotR fig, but it's ruined by an awful drybrush job. Must've been painted after they fired most of the Heavy Metal staff.

Back to the Golden Daemon entries, I can safely say that the Spaniards are the bees knees when it comes to miniature painting. The Youngblood entries are better than I can paint.
The monochrome Arwen, the IG trooper with the child and the Kroot with the bird on his rifle are my favs, as is the Giant fighting the Ogres.
Hell, they're all great.

Really inspired stuff in all categories, especially in my mind the Kroot, the Ogre knight, the Nurgle giant, that fantastic Keeper of Secrets, the monochrome Arwen, and that really original Genestealer magus bust! Nice work Spaniards! GW Coverage of Winners and of All Entries, the latter something I haven't seen them do before. Nice work. - Boss Salvage

The new empire range is really sweet. I love the faces and hands (thank god for non-gorilla hands!) as well as the details on the plastics. Stupidly overpriced, but worth picking up a sprue of each just to paint and assemble. The new pic of the mounted engineer has me frothing- I'm definelty getting and using it as an Inquisitor! Very cool, not very fantasy, but it would look great with my guard. On to Ludwig- magnificant! He screams Nelson to me, although you never know since Brian has been mentoring almost all the new sculptors and they seem to have picked up his style... so it's hard to tell sometimes unless I have a big pic or the model in my hands. EDIT: After looking at the model again I've decided the cherub is far too crudely done to be Nelson's work. It's definetly not his unless that pic does the cherub no justice at all. Those harlies are just stunning. I have to buy them simply to paint. That LotR daemon was a must buy for me when I saw the sneak peak on GW's site, but upon seeing the actual detail I'll pass!

Wow, those GD winning minis are incredible. If we had entries that good in here in the states I'd be tempted to go to Games Day just to see the minis in person. What blows me away about the wraithlord is thinking about how fast he must have painted it! The boxed army with the wraithlord in it came out like less than a month ago! He could have made the shield before then, but still.

It's a fluff thing. The Wraith-Starch allows the Harlequins to spring off of their loincloths and perform all those crazy acrobatic maneuvers. Phefffft. I'll take cool looking poses that fit with the character of the models over static but uber-realisticly cloathed models any day. This are artistic models, not props for a 30mm wax museum.
