Am I the only one who gets the feeling that they made Eldar the new Uber race so that all the marine players will go out and buy an eldar army?

Drano doesn't exactly scream "toy" to me.

I'm still just not seeing it. What exactly got so much better that it presents a threat to the dominance of Fear of the Dark, Assault Cannons, and plasma/plasma drop squads? There's certainly nothing in the new codex with anything like the power of old Ulthwe or Alatoic, and these were the builds that were competitive with the best of Marine and Chaos armies.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

For kicks, I wanna say "Yes." You are the only player that feels that way.

If anything, Eldar took a slight hit due to some point increases and certain unit selections (gaurdians springs to mind). On the other hand, it's still a pretty good Dex that I'll be starting an army for.

While the Falcon from hell will always be a pain in the ass to most, if not all, players, I don't think the Dex is overly powerful or UBER.

I have seen eldar armies now that number less than my deathwing. Now thats a sad thing.

But even so, those armies my deathwing outnumbers do give my deathwing a run for its money at least.

The thing with the new dex is that very few things got much better. Dragons got a slight bump so they instakill and have a possiblity of hurting tanks at 7-12 inches. Bikes got cheeper but still don't do anything other than move fast. Tanks got vectored engines to be useful but lost the ability to possibly ignore "can't shoot" damage results. Avatar got better but more expensive. Wraithlord got more expensive, lost an attack, and gained the ability to get a second weapon (about a bump if you ask me). Reapers got an armor save bump. Quins got put in and they rock. Vypers got more expensive. The starcannon got nerfed. Warwalkers got cheeper and became closed topped but lost the power field. All the eldar psikers stayed about the same cost but are forced to buy wargear they used to be able to go without if you wanted to keep them cheep. Wraithguard got changed up a bit but still suck. Dire avengers got more range but still are fairly lack luster against 3+ save armies (although they are great against 5+ save armies). All in all I don't think the dex made them significantly more powerful then they were before. They are just different now. The starcannon army of doom is giving way to some other builds that I guess people just don't know how to deal with yet. Give it some time.
