Okay, so per the USPS website the minimum package dimensions they accept are: 6" x 3" x 0.25" That being said, I've shipped hundreds of packages with sizes of 4" x 4" x 4" and 4" x 4" x 3" I usually drop them in the mail box ever since a postal employee advised me that they were too small. Which was after about 5 years of using that size box to ship items. Still have about 100 boxes left to work though, but I've since upgraded to 7" x 4" x 2" to avoid the issue in the future. That being said, for purchasing boxes I usually look on Amazon (for bulk purchases), or Home Depot/Lowes (and have them shipped to the store). Here are some examples (I can't speak the quality of any of them), but keep in mind that not all boxes are made of the same stuff. There are some that are thin-walled that are not as sturdy as others. It kind of depends on what you're shipping and how fragile it is. https://www.amazon.com/SUNLPH-Shipping-Inches-Corrugated-Cardboard/dp/B09QCXPXY1 https://www.lowes.com/pd/Duck-6-in-W-x-6-in-H-x-6-in-D-Small-Recycled-Cardboard-Moving-Box/5002159385 https://www.walmart.com/ip/25-4x4x4-Cardboard-Paper-Boxes-Mailing-Packing-Shipping-Box-Corrugated-Carton/362624978 Figure out what size you want and do searches for them on the main sites for that kind of stuff to compare price and availability. Amazon, Home Depot, Lowes, Staples, Walmart, Target, etc.

Lots of jumbo las cannons out there from toys and such, here's 2 examples.

I wonder how the plastic will take to rattlecans. Those cannons would need a bit of work but seem spot on to replace Earthshakers.

If you wash it well and have access to Krylon "Fusion" or similar plastic specific spray you should be fine. I did a similar job on some soft plastic M48's.

Ha!
I was just about to post those but you beat me to it.
Those 1/72ish reissues of Marx landing craft are smaller than 28mm scale as it can only fit one squad rather than a whole pain. However, the cockpit is about right for 28mm and Ithink the covered MG position gives it a nice Wierd WW2 vibe.
I'm probably going to just give mine a coat of grey and then use them as terrain if we ever get back to playing K47.

BMC does make a more realistic toy model as well.
https://bmctoys.com/collections/plastic-army-men-vehicles/products/bmc-higgins
This Is actually spot on accurate for a 1/32 LCVP Higgins boat, which is designed to move a platoon of troops and a jeep. However, in 28mm (1/56) it'd be a fine stand in for a LCMV which were larger and designed to move troops and tanks.
I don't have one, but I'm tempted every time I see one at my local hobby shop that stocks this sort of thing. At over a foot long, it's really big.

Jinx!
I actually bought the larger Higgins boat years ago but it was too small for a Rhino or Chimera. It would work fine for troops in a coastal landing type 28mm game though.

Cargo fliers?
Perhaps. I think there's alot of potential to be a cargo skimmer like SW. However, it is made of Polyethylene and it can be tough to get things to stick to it. I've had pretty good luck with sanding the surfaces and using a rubberized superglue, and with the wonderfully toxic plumbers solvent adhesive.
I will convert with soft plastic if I have too, but generally I prefer to just paint as-is and save my conversion time for more amenable materials.

If you've still got it, I'd love to see some shots with troops. I have a fair number of norrower sci-fi armored vehicles that would probably fit inside pretty well. I wonder if 1/56 tanks would fit, they're not very wide compared to GW.
The TimMee M48's I linked to earlier (Sold for 1/32 toy soldiers, but much closer to 1/56 or 1/48) are bigger than most ww2 tanks and it looks like they'd fit.
I just realized today via your post that BMC and TImMee post scale shots now. That's really usefull.
I'm pretty sure I've posted this pic before, but here's what the classic TimMee (and clone) M48's look like next to 28mm models. It's actually only a smidge oversized as the M48 dwarfs the Cromwell in real life also.

I think it's time I dug out all the various army man toys I've got in my to-be-terrain boxes and did a blog post with scale shots for them. I'm pretty sure I've got that amphibious boat somewhere also.

I generally consider myself an open minded individual capable of understanding a wide array of viewpoints, even if I do not agree with them.
But then I see... this.

Not only is it a holiday Storm Trooper, but we get this fluff text
Star Wars The Black Series | First Order Stormtrooper (Holiday Edition)
Members of this new generation of stormtroopers are trained from birth, growing up with unit designations instead of names and fed a steady diet of First Order propaganda to ensure loyalty.
Kids and collectors alike can imagine the biggest battles and missions in the Star Wars saga with figures from Star Wars The Black Series! With exquisite features and decoration, this series embodies the quality and realism that Star Wars devotees love. Star Wars The Black Series includes figures, vehicles, and roleplay items from the 40-plus-year legacy of the Star Wars Galaxy, including comics, movies, and animated series.
Nothing says Christmas Spirit quite like brainwashed Space Nazis.
This is the sort of thing that a subversive artist might create as a statement on commercialism but nope, it's a sincere attempt to sell us more crap.
And y'know, I could forgive it if it was a First Order Strom Trooper (Life Day Edition), that at least would show some amount of self consciousness.
